Story
Brownie is a truly sweet and intelligent dog who’s looking for a loving, understanding home to call her own. She absolutely loves going on walks and enjoys exploring the world at a comfortable pace with her person by her side. Time spent together—especially on a nice walk—is when Brownie is happiest. At home, Brownie has excellent manners. She is both crate trained and house trained, making the transition into a new home much easier. Shes a smart girl who picks up routines quickly and does best when she knows what to expect. Brownie would do best with slow, respectful introductions to other dogs, as she prefers to take her time getting comfortable. She would thrive in a home with older kids who understand how to give her space and let trust build naturally. Brownie is not suitable for a home with small animals. With patience, consistency, and love, Brownie will reward her people with loyalty, affection, and a wonderful companionship. She’s ready to find a home where she can feel safe, understood, and cherished. If you think Brownie could be the perfect match for your family, please reach out to learn more or set up a meet-and-greet! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //   Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $ 350 plus taxHi, I’m Beatrice and I get along very well with all sorts (and sizes) of dogs but I have trouble being alone. I get separation anxiety, have a tough time riding in cars and visiting the vet but when I am at home with another dog, all that goes away and I’m really easy to care for.  When people come over that aren’t “dog people” I’m fine being kennelled but when my people are away I do my best when left out with another dog. I haven’t counter surfed, gotten into the garbage, or made a mess so my foster doesn’t mind that I can easily jump the baby gates. I could probably jump the backyard fence and I have escaped before when I didn’t have a dog friend to keep me company but I don’t get into trouble as long as I have a buddy around. I am a card carrying people pleaser so any time you can invest in my training would be awesome but I’m a good girl that already knows the basics like sit, down, and stay. I’ve lived with cats, they don’t bother me and I am good with kids too (especially older ones that like to play)! I’m also cuddlebug certified and while I like to play and show off, I’m just as happy to snuggle on the couch for hours too! Please consider filling out an ADOPTION or FOSTER APPLICATION by clicking on the FOSTER or ADOPT button below.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Long Distance Adoptions: Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. We require a meet of the pet prior to adoption, which means coming to MARS.  We do not transport to potential adopters. How to learn more about a pet: Complete the application (click on the button above) to start our process for adopting or fostering a MARS Pet. Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Post Adoption: Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Meet Moses: the one-man (okay, one-woman) show who believes love should be exclusive, like a Netflix password. This sweet, slightly dramatic little hunk has been through a lot in his short life, so he’s very picky about who makes the cut for his inner circle. Spoiler: he’s almost always a “ladies’ dog.” Moses is not aggressive — his strategy when nervous is to bark, growl, or avoid like a teenager forced to attend a family reunion. He’s especially skeptical of men, but once he finds his person, he glues himself to them like Velcro. In fact, you’ll never go to the bathroom alone again. Congratulations! You’ve just earned yourself a personal shadow. He’s a kennel pro (aka his safe little man cave), completely housebroken, doesn’t chew the wrong stuff, and eats like it’s his part-time job. When dinner rolls around, he’ll treat you to his famous “crazy dinner dance” — part interpretive art, part comedy show. He’s also a professional couch potato who doubles as a hiking buddy when the mood strikes. Balance, people. Moses has a soft spot for calmer dogs, squeaky toys, rolling in the grass, and of course, naps. He’s a medium-sized pup with a massive heart, looking for a forever home that gets him. If you’re a patient, loving woman living solo — or someone willing to give him all the time and space he needs — Moses is ready to become the most loyal snuggle buddy you’ll ever meet. When this guy falls in love, it’s not just forever — it’s forever-ever. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //

Story
Hi! I’m Dunne, aka Dune-buggy or Duners. Just thought I would stop in with a little update on me. If you’ve read my profile before you may know that I’m originally from Afghanistan and spent my first few years there. Because of my time there, we don’t know much about my previous life except that I was a street dog and didn’t live in a house. Now for the good update part. I’m really liking and getting the hang of this house living thing. The people and other dog I live with have been teaching me a lot of stuff and because of that I feel safer and more comfortable and confident so I do not need to always follow my temporary mom around everywhere she goes in the house. She keeps telling me that I am almost there to being a perfect gentleman. I now sit and wait for my food until I am told I can have it. Same with treats, I don’t try to grab it out of their hand. I do at times have a little too much energy and get a little too excited so I jump around or run up and down the stairs. So little kids or adults that aren’t steady on their feet might not be a good thing. I’m working on it, but sometimes I’m just too excited!!! I have learned to walk nicely on a leash. I stick pretty close to either person walking with me and do well when the other dog here is walking with too, but prefer to be with my foster mom if it’s a group walk. I get scared though of other dogs out or on leashes and tend to get a little reactive. We are working on it, but it’s hard to get over that fear. The people here have learned that I am not a fan of my kennel. I won’t fight it when they leave since the other dog here is already in his, but I get very scared to be in there. At night I don’t have to go in there at all now. This makes me so happy and grateful that I curl up and don’t move all night until it’s time to get up in the morning. Sudden movements too close to me or someone reaching out makes me nervous and cower. I am a lot better than I used to be, but it’s still a work in progress. I’m hoping to find a home that can continue to be more relaxed and patient with me as I continue on this learning journey. I like to lay around and relax most of the time and content with watching the world go by in the yard or deck as mom is tending to her gardens. I am a fast runner and need to get that energy out sometimes, so a fenced yard where I can run or someone that will take me on adventures to get that energy out would be ideal. I love to curl up on the couch with either foster parent and just be with them. Are you ready to be my cuddle partner?       Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $425.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.July 10, 2025, 7:15 am

Story
Age: Approximately 3 years old Weight: 72lbs Dog friendly: Yes, with proper introduction Cat friendly: Unknown Kid friendly: When properly introduced Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Unknown ***FENCED YARD REQUIRED*** Hello! My name is Lewis but I am often called Lou If you are looking for a friend to watch whatever shows you want on tv I am your guy! If you are looking for someone that loves to chill on the couch with then I am your guy! If you are looking for someone to take walks with or even go for a jog with them I am also your guy as I love to go on walks! I love my humans and get attached to them, so it would be best if I was your one and only fur baby! I do like kids but have never been around real little kids so you may have to watch that I don’t knock them over as I would feel bad. I would love to be with someone who isn’t gone all the time as I will miss them so much. I roam free when my humans are gone and do fine with that, although I do have a habit of counter surfing so its best if you do not leave any food on the counter for me to snack on. I am told that I am the sweetest boy and would love to find my forever home so you can see that too. Lou Adoption Fee: $495
