Story
*Tinsley is HW +, and will need to be fostered through her treatment.  If you would be interested in that program, please go to our website and start by filling out a foster application.* Tinsley is a beautiful pup with freckles and beautiful black eyeliner around her eyes. She currently lives with cats and dogs. Tinsley can be slow to warm up to new people and would benefit from a confident dog in the home to help her build confidence. Once she knows you, Tinsley will snuggle on the couch with you, seeking belly rubs like she’s been there her whole life! Tinsley loves the lake, and has slowly learned to retrieve a ball in it. She get so excited when she actually gets it runs for shore like she won the lottery! She thinks kids are cool, but older kids would be safer because Tinsley will slip right out the door if you are not careful; she really loves adventures and thinks she can leave to go exploring whenever she wants. A family that takes her on intentional adventures may be a great fit and help reduce some of her wanderlust… A little back story on how she came to rescue- She and her female canine companion were surrended to a sheter in TX. We don;t know the why, but Tinsly was pregant. She waited long enough in the shelter waiting for a home, that she gave birth to her two male pups. She came to MN a week later with them and raised them in a foster home. They have since been adopted. Now its her turn! ##1749383##

Story
Kesha here, I am a 3 month old lab/German Sheppard mix. I am such a sweet girl! I love to play with my brothers and kids. When you sit down, make room for me to snuggle right up with you. I am already a star student at sitting when asked. For being such a smart girl it won’t take me long to learn more commands. I like to play with toys and have fun. I have not been on a walk but I bet I would love them! Potty training is going very well. I will still need a bit of work, but every day I get so much better. When I am in my play area I am super good at using pee pads. Are you looking for a fun girl to add to your family? You can apply to adopt me at rescuecrew.org ##2018786##

Hey I am Ed(yes, like Ed Sheeran). I am a 3 month old lab/german Sheppard mix. I am super good at sitting when asked. Give me a little time and help and I will learn how to do so many things! I love to play with my sister and brothers. I also had oh so much fun running and playing with the kids. I have not been on a walk, but I bet I would love going on adventures with you. I would love to cuddle up next to you when it’s time to watch some tv. I am doing well with potty training on a schedule. As smart as I am, I am sure I will have this mastered very soon my. Nellie is a sweet pup looking for a home of her own! She is the last pup in her little and is just begging for someone to love her.  Nellie is being fostered with large resident dogs, resident cats and kids - she loves everyone! She has even attended two adoption events where she soaked up all of the attention from everyone she met.   Nellie's favorite activities include figureing out treat puzzles, lounging in the sun, running zoomies in the yard, finding the very best sticks to bring back, and she wants nothing more than to snuggle up on her human's lap.  Nellie is crate trained - having no accidents and making no sounds overnight. With a consistent let out schedule, Nellie has not had any accidents in the house, either! Nellie is a wonder mutt - our best guess is some type of Lab/Shepherd/Husky mix of greatness. While her exact genetics are unknown, we gaurantee she is 100% cute!  Nellie can't wait to find her forever family - will it be you?  ##2006553##

Story
A portion of my adoption fee has been sponsored by my friends at The Murray Fund. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $100.00 will be applied during the contract process. Hi! I'm Buddy and I am an owner surrender. I am deaf, but that doesn't stop me from being an amazing boy! From the Foster: Photos and Videos of Buddy: https://photos.app.goo.gl/uvmNj7g9YXB925CU9 Buddy's dream day would start and end with head scritches and belly rubs, followed by a walk to sniff around a quiet neighborhood, fueled by lots of treats. He'd then take a long car ride on the highway, return home to more head scritches and belly rubs, and enjoy chewing on a bone in his bed before a nap. He's used to having a human companion around for most of the day. He does all right for up to 4-5 hours alone, though if there is food accessible to him, he will find it and eat it. He's a loyal guy who will love his people well and do his best to protect you from squirrels, postal carriers, dogs on the TV, and package delivery trucks. He's friendly towards people, and very food motivated. He's a senior dog who knows what he wants and will communicate it. He's had to navigate some health challenges and can be a bit stubborn or crabby about being unable to do what he wants. Buddy would do best as the only pet in a quiet home, with someone who wants a loyal companion for daily walks, and time together. We have yet to make formal introductions to any other dogs or cats, when we encounter them in the neighborhood, he has a big bark and is learning how to be less reactive. Buddy would do best in a house with no shared walls.

Story
A portion of my adoption fee has been sponsored by my friends at The Murray Fund. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $200.00 will be applied during the contract process. Hi I'm Goldie and I'm from a reservation. From the Foster: Hi I'm Goldie! Let's get the obvious out of the way first...if you adopt me, you not only get a super snuggly pup but also my amazing chariot. In lots of ways, I'm your typical pup...or maybe even an exceptional one! I love to snuggle and get pets & belly rubs. Sometimes my foster mom will boost me up on the sofa for even better snuggling & then I'm in heaven! I keep her company and take my afternoon nap close by in her office. I love to hang out on our deck in good weather and I love my 'up time' in my chariot when I run around the backyard, play with the other pups, chase balls or play tug of war. If I can get out of the house & yard, I am a very happy girl! I love going for walks and love, love, love car rides! If you are a runner or a biker, I'm a bit of a speed demon in my chariot and can keep up with you if you want some company on your walk or ride! And I love my toys...I have a set of four, including my favorite Hamburger that go out on the deck with me and then keep my company when I go to bed. Once a week, my foster mom gets me a delicious bone! If I have that or the chew toys, I don't chew on things I shouldn't! So some other things you need to know about me & my chariot: I stay quietly in my room overnight and in the morning my foster mom helps hold me up so I can pee on a puppy pad. I can't poop while she's holding me, so I have one spot in the house I tend to head to do that business if I can't get outside. Foster mom says it's really easy to clean up...very contained & solid. In the house, I tend to not use my chariot & just scoot. While diapers work if I'm in the chariot, they don't stay on well when I scoot. If I want you to come pet me, I may give a bark or two...its easier to get you to come than to have to scoot too far. I will also help let you know if someone is at the door. While I love my foster dad, I am initially more comfortable with women. Maybe because one of them shot me, men need to go slowly to make me know I can trust them. I'm learning to be a bit less nervous about some loud things like motorcycles, lawn mowers, & fireworks, although I feel pretty safe in the house now...they worry me more outside. My foster mom wanted to add this: Goldie has some exercises she can do that will continue to help strengthen her legs, but it isn't clear how much more improvement she will make But Goldie is the sweetest thing in the house and if you sit on the floor, she'll climb in your lap for all the pets & snuggles she can get. So if you'd like to come meet 'the sweetest thing in the world' and give me some snuggles & pets, fill out the application! I'd love to show you how lovable & snuggly I am! From the vet team: Hello! I arrived at Secondhand Hounds with a bullet wound that resulted in a spine injury and bilateral hip dysplasia. This injury has prevented me from being able to use my back limbs (nonambulatory paraparesis). I have been working with a physical therapist and I received x-rays during my care with the SHH vet team. It is important for my future adopters to know that there is a risk for my hip joint to become dislocated . Since I am not walking on my rear limbs this may never be a concern but depending on the weight that is placed on my rear limbs this is a possibility. My future adopter will be financially responsible for possible future orthopedic surgery or medical management needs.

I am Tyler. I am from Missouri. From the foster: Tyler (TieDye) is a very sweet, curious, almost one year old puppy! He knows to "sit, "stay, "come and "leave it. He's high energy at times, but also snoozes a lot and loves to snuggle in and watch a show. House trained and sleeps through the night without needing to go outside. Does well with a mix of dry and wet dog food (Pedigree is what we've stuck with), and treats between meals. Crates well after some initial hesitation and resistance. He will at times go into his crate on his own when super tired. He loves going on walks and does pretty well on a leash. Still working on not pulling when he sees other dogs especially. He responds well to "leave it and redirection. Plays super well with our neighbor dog, and I'd think with other dogs as he gets to know them. He loves soccer balls and plays well with both my eight and twelve year old. Ty loves to give kisses and can get a bit mouthy when seeking attention, and we are continuing to work on that. Also working on having him not jump on us when he's super excited to see us. Ty is incredibly sweet and has stolen our hearts! My kids are ready to adopt him, and I'm considering it deeply as well while recognizing the work and energy that is needed. In the meantime, above are updates and thoughts on this little puppster. Happy to clarify as needed. Feel free to wordsmith of course. Thank you!

I am Oreo. I am from Arkansas. From the foster: Hi, I am Oreo! I am an amazing puppy and super smart too. My foster family has been working with me and I have learned a lot. I know a ton of tricks that I have learned really fast but I need some better rewards when in distracting areas. Now that it is getting warmer I love walks. My family is working on leash skills with me and I am pretty good at it but still need work. I am doing really well with potty training and barely ever pee in the house as long as I get let out regularly. I am proud to announce that I am crate trained and can last up to 7 hours if needed but prefer it to be shorter, otherwise I have a ton of energy! Toys, especially ropes, are my favorite and I absolutely love to play with other dogs. I can be a pretty lazy puppy sometimes and love to just chill on the couch with my people, too. I love all people, and enjoy being with them all the time. I enjoy playing with them, being next to them when chewing my bones, and being by their side in the kitchen. Hoping I can do some of that in your home too! From his foster: We have learned that Oreo likes to have dog friends in the house with him. While not completely necessary, he loves to play and will be thrilled if there is a dog to play with all the time.

Hi, I'm Slat. I'm from Texas. From his foster: Slat is the sweetest boy, he loves kids, new people and dogs. He is a typical puppy and loves to play with my resident dog. He would do great with a playmate or on his own. He sleeps in a crate at night and potty training is coming along great. Slat is very food motivated so he knows a few basic commands and is very easy to train. When he's tired he will be looking for someone to snuggle with on the couch. Overall is a pretty mellow puppy with a sweet and goofy personality. From our Vet Center: "Hi! My name is Slat and I am looking for a family of my own, but The Bond Between vet wanted my future family to know a few things about my medical history. I was experiencing some lameness on my right leg which we thought was going to require surgery to correct the injury. After my recheck appointment I had shown so much improvement and it seemed my injury was less consistent with a full tear of my CCL but more similar to a disease called Osgood Schlatter syndrome in children. The specialist examined me and I am healing so well that no additional follow up care is needed!

From his foster: Porter and his brother, Winston, are two handsome boys. Yellow lab puppy will a chill attitude. He still loves to play with his brother and my older boys. Very treat motivated. Potty training has been going well from even the beginning. He would greatly benefit with a very good schedule and routine for sleeping through the night and potty training. Story
"Daisy Requiers Another Confident Dog In the Home" Hello, I'm Daisy, a pup with quite a story to tell. My life began on a vast breeding farm, where the world was an endless cycle of sameness, the heavy chain around my neck a constant reminder of my purpose: to bring new puppies into the world for the farmer. It was a monotonous existence, but it was all I knew. Then, everything changed. Humans came and took me away from the only life I had ever known, and suddenly, I was thrust into a world full of terrifying new experiences. Living inside a house was a concept as alien to me as the moon. The sounds were so different – the scrape of chairs on hardwood floors sent shivers down my spine. I had never really interacted with humans before, and now they were everywhere, wanting to be close, to touch me. They were kind, but kindness was a language I was only just beginning to understand. I was always on alert, ready to bolt to safety at any moment. The floors were a patchwork of textures, some hard and slick, others soft and yielding, and I found it all very disconcerting. Leashes were another source of fear; they had only ever been used to control me harshly, so I despised them. Under the dining table, I discovered a sanctuary, a place where the world couldn't reach me, and it became my haven. Slowly, I'm learning to trust these new humans. They offer me treats, little tokens of a kindness I'm still trying to comprehend. But trust is a journey, and I'm taking it one cautious step at a time. They speak of a 'forever family,' a concept that fills me with both hope and apprehension. A family where I might finally learn what it means to feel safe and loved. Could you be the one to show me this beautiful new world? Could you be my forever family?     Dear Prospective Adopter, Daisy is a resilient soul who has been under our care for some time now. Daisy's journey has been one of quiet strength and gradual healing. She came to us with a heart full of fear, a spirit wary of the world around her. She spent 24/7 beneath our dining table, the only place she felt secure. Yet, through patience and gentle coaxing, we've seen glimmers of trust begin to emerge. Our approach has been one of small, consistent steps. We began by shifting her food and water, inch by inch, further into the room, encouraging her to venture out from her safe haven. High-value treats, like savory bacon, were scattered just beyond her reach, a tempting trail leading her to new ground. We tread lightly in her presence, our movements deliberate and unhurried, always mindful of her sensitivity. As we sit by her side, our voices soft, Daisy has started to accept our company. She shows a preference for the nurturing presence of women, though with time, she's learning that men too can offer kindness. Recently, she's discovered the comfort of a gentle touch, allowing slow, tender pets that speak of growing confidence. Daisy's needs are simple yet profound. She asks for a home where patience is abundant, where the echoes of her past traumas can fade into distant memories. A family with a calm presence, experienced in the language of dogs, would be her ideal sanctuary. A fenced yard would provide her the freedom to explore without the fear and chain that once bound her. Another confident dog, who could help teach her the ropes of being a dog.  While Daisy's road to becoming a cuddly companion may be long, the rewards promise to be immeasurable. To witness her transformation, to be the guiding light in her world of shadows, is a chance to forge a bond of extraordinary depth. We are prepared to foster her for as long as she needs, but should a very special forever home beckon—a home willing to embrace her as she is and dedicate themselves to her growth—we are ready to step aside to allow another family to write Daisy’s next chapter of recovery together. We hold onto hope for Daisy's future, a future filled with love and security. Perhaps, in reading this, you feel a stir within your heart, a call to be part of her story. Could you be the one to unlock the full potential of her gentle spirit? With hope, Daisy's Foster Family ##1891244##
