Story
Hi everyone! I’m Buddy, a happy-go-lucky black Lab with a heart full of love! I was born in February 2022, and even though I had a bit of a rough start, I'm ready to find my forever family! When I was a little pup, walking was a challenge. But my amazing foster mom came along and helped me on my road to recovery! My back legs needed some extra attention. My right leg was a bit weak and didn't bend much, so I used to swing it when I walked. But my left leg? It's super strong and works great! I've been doing physical therapy, which is lots of fun and includes toe wiggles and games (I might have given my foster mom a few ticklish licks during our sessions!). It's important for me to keep my left leg strong, and my foster mom thinks working with a professional physical therapist would be awesome. I can walk and hop pretty well when I go slow, but when I get excited (which is pretty often!), I sometimes scoot around like a happy little wiggle worm! I'm still working on potty training, but my foster mom has a secret: my tail! It goes straight up when I need to go potty, so she knows it's time for a break. Most of the time, I'm just too busy playing to remember! Slippery floors can be a little tricky for me unless I have good traction, and while I can do stairs, I might need a hand going down (those railings can be a bit scary!). But you know what? My spirit is unbreakable! I love *everyone* – kids, adults, and other doggie friends! (I haven't met any cats yet). I do bark in my kennel when I want attention, food, a potty break, or just because I'm feeling chatty! So, a home without shared walls would be best for me. Car rides are awesome, as long as I’m safely buckled up or in my crate. I even have a special 'Help Em Up' harness for all our future adventures together! Are you ready to open your heart and home to a special needs pup with a heart of gold? I can't wait to meet you and give you all my love! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Maxine (Maxi), a lab mix born roughly on 8/12/22, is an affectionate girl who loves people. She’s always happy to get pets and frequently leans against our leg and rolls over for belly rubs or snuggles up against us when we sit down. She does best with slow introductions to new dogs, especially if the other dog comes in hot. That said, she gets along great with our other foster, who is a hyper ball of energy. Once she is comfortable with the other dogs, she behaves very submissively. Maxine has been around cats and did well upon meeting them. Maxine walks quickly on a leash; however, she listens well to correction. She is completely potty trained. Some days, she has been in the kennel for up to 10+ hours without an accident. There have been no accidents outside the kennel, either. She will go to the door and wait until let out. She is a smart gal, so I’m sure she could be trained to ding a bell or use whatever method you prefer. Maxi sleeps well beside us in bed all night. Or she will chill all day or all night in the kennel. We’ve got some exciting news about this pup’s age! Thanks to DNA testing from Embark, we’ve got a fresh take on how old they really are. A big shoutout to Embark for generously donating these tests for us to explore! You might spot a difference between Embark's findings and our original guess—after all, no test or person is 100% accurate. It’s all part of the adventure! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Meet Augie (or Booker — he responds more towards, especially if treats are involved!) This 6-year-old Lab mix is a gentle bundle of love who’s fully potty trained and always ready for a game of fetch. He’s got a sweet soul and a big heart, just looking for a family to call his own. Augie takes a simple daily medication to keep him feeling his best, and he’s working on shedding a few extra pounds — more walkies and fewer snacks (though he’d prefer the opposite)! He adores cuddles and companionship but would prefer a calm home with kiddos over age 8 (the little ones make him a bit nervous). He needs to be an only dog. Cats unknown. He does know: sit, shake, lay down & is great in a kennel. He is house trained & potty trained. If you're looking for a loyal, playful, and loving best friend, Augie might just be your perfect match! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Meet Daisy Mae! Born around January 2022, Daisy Mae is a big, sweet, and adventurous girl ready to find her forever family! Currently thriving in a foster home with a pack of playful pups, she absolutely lives for doggy playdates and would love a canine sibling or two in her new home. Daisy Mae is the perfect match for an active family—she’s always up for a walk, hike, or trip to the dog park. And when it’s time to wind down, she’s just as happy soaking up attention from her people. She’s fully potty trained, kennel trained, and has excellent house manners. She’s met cats and didn’t bat an eye, but chickens? Let’s just say… not her cup of tea. If you’re looking for a loving, fun, and loyal companion, Daisy Mae just might be your girl. Could she be the missing piece to your family?   Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Dental, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Are you looking for a loyal, cuddly, and playful companion to bring endless joy into your life? Then meet Dazzle, a magnificent 3-year-old, 75-pound bundle of solid muscle and pure love! This sweet girl has been thriving in her foster home since Easter weekend and is ready to find her truly forever family. Dazzle is the ultimate cuddle bug, always wanting to be close to her humans. She's convinced she's a lap dog and thrives on attention and affection.  She's become the very best of friends with her foster family's 9-month-old kitten, Dale. These two are 'thick as thieves' and love to play and get into mischief together. While she might not understand her own strength and occasionally thinks she can lay on the cat, her intentions are always pure and loving. (Please note: she is still learning about older, more reserved cats and may bark at them, but with a playful cat and a bit of patience, she could easily make another feline friend!) This girl is an active adventurer at heart! Dazzle absolutely adores walks and spending time outdoors. And wow, can she jump! Toss a toy or a treat, and you'll be amazed as she effortlessly leaps a good four feet off the ground. While balls aren't her favorite, she'll happily play tug-of-war with ropes, chase sticks, and go crazy for squeaky toys. Dazzle is a dream inside the house. She is fully kennel trained and has an impeccable record – never a single accident indoors, even when left alone for extended periods. She's generally quiet inside, only barking to alert you to visitors (be it a person, turkey, rabbit, or deer!) in 'her' yard. Otherwise, she's content to quietly observe the world from the window. We believe Dazzle would thrive in an active home with older children (due to her strength and enthusiastic play) or individuals who will include her in their adventures and give her lots of dedicated time and attention. She'll happily be lazy at home when you need her to be, but her true happiness shines when she's active, exploring, and surrounded by her people. Dazzle arrived in foster care a bit underweight but has since blossomed into a healthy 75 pounds. We've noticed a slight increase in shedding and itching since switching her from a high-quality food, so a family committed to providing good nutrition would be ideal (it could also be seasonal allergies, but good food always helps!). Sweet, funny, and profoundly loyal – Dazzle promises to be the most devoted companion you could ask for. If you're an active family looking for a big-hearted dog who will fill your life with love, laughter, and endless cuddles, please don't hesitate to come meet Dazzle! She's eagerly waiting to find her forever family. We highly recommend Pet Insurance.  Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance. Pet Breeds: The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility or Shelter partner. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess without knowing a pet’s full history. //

Story
Hi, I am Davidson!  I hail from Kentucky, but am happy to be here in Minnesota. Actually, I'm just happy in general!     I know how to sit, shake, and lie down. I am pretty good at “wait”, too.    I am eternally excited. I happily swing my butt and head around and have not yet figured out that when those parts of me run into a part of you that it doesn't feel great. I may knock over people or smaller kids who aren't sure-footed because I haven't figured out that this is the effect.  I do seem to be aware that my human foster siblings (8 and 10) are smaller and take this into consideration when I'm by them.    I am a lover of toys! I prance around happily when I have one and am always willing to share with other dogs.  I make a funny little growly sound when I'm really excited about the toy I'm trying to show you and get you to play with. It's not an aggressive thing by any means, just my way to communicate how jacked I am about it! I have earned the nickname “Darth Davey” because of the heavy breathing done out of excitement.    I am good in my kennel after some initial whining. I stay there when my foster parents leave the house. I prefer to sleep in bed with my people and my furry foster siblings, but will sleep in the kennel if I must.    I am super dog friendly. I have not shown any reactive behaviors. I want to play with friends I meet right away, but am also mindful of their cues and when they aren't quite ready to play with me. I have not shown any signs of resource guarding, either. In fact, one of my furry foster siblings is a little rude and tries to take toys from my mouth, and I just let her do it. She gets overly sassy with me sometimes when we play, and I remain non-aggressive.   I got to meet a cat to see how I would do with them, and I didn't care too much about the cat. I just wanted pets from the human whose cat it was.    I am a bit vocal, but it is when I'm trying to tell you something…like needing to go out to potty or REALLY wanting to play. For this reason, I may not be the best candidate for a home with shared walls, unless your neighbors understand that dogs sometimes bark to communicate. I bark when I want attention, but who doesn't love a guy who can communicate?!     I like lounging on the floor near my foster family's feet, but also enjoy a good dog bed and some time on the couch with my head in my people's lap. Sometimes I even try to sit in their laps.    I have an impressive vertical jump in the air excitedly when it's time to eat, go outside, and play.   I would love to meet you, get some pets, and play tug of war! After that, maybe some butt scratches and snuggles?      Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Story
Hi! I'm Gypsy! I'm a beautiful golden retriever mix, about 3 years old (born 10/2021). I'm at that perfect age – not a crazy puppy, but not a slowpoke senior either! I've had a bit of a bumpy start in life, moving between homes a few times. But I'm ready for my *forever* home, and I'm hoping you're the one! My sweet golden eyes are hoping to convince you that I'm the missing piece in your family. Because of my past, I do have some anxiety, especially when kenneled for long periods. But don't worry! I take a daily anxiety medication that helps me feel much better. It's super easy – just hide it in a pill pocket with my morning meal, and I gobble it right down! It's *very* important that I get this medication *every* single morning. It's not something I can take occasionally, and I shouldn't stop taking it suddenly. My foster mom strongly recommends I stay on it for life to help me feel safe and secure after my rough start. I'm a fun-loving girl! I adore playing with toys, kids, and most other dogs. I can be a little bossy with *some* female dogs, but I get along fine with most. Cats? I'm curious at first sniff, but then I usually just ignore them. I've been around cats in other foster homes and done well. I'm a fantastic car rider – I love watching the world go by! I'm also crate trained (I might whine a little when you leave, but I settle down quickly) and house trained. I'm the perfect blend of cuddly and playful. I'll happily snuggle up with you on the couch for movie night, but I'm also ready for some zoomies in the yard or a good run! Won't you please give me my happy ending? I promise to be your loyal and loving companion forever and always. I'm just a brown-eyed girl, waiting for you! Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, rabies vaccination, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Distemper combo vaccines appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, heartworm and flea/tick preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $395.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 30, 2025, 1:25 am

Story
Hi! I’m Dunne, aka Dune-buggy or Duners. Just thought I would stop in with a little update on me. If you’ve read my profile before you may know that I’m originally from Afghanistan and spent my first few years there. Because of my time there, we don’t know much about my previous life except that I was a street dog and didn’t live in a house. Now for the good update part. I’m really liking and getting the hang of this house living thing. The people and other dog I live with have been teaching me a lot of stuff and because of that I feel safer and more comfortable and confident so I do not need to always follow my temporary mom around everywhere she goes in the house. She keeps telling me that I am almost there to being a perfect gentleman. I now sit and wait for my food until I am told I can have it. Same with treats, I don’t try to grab it out of their hand. I do at times have a little too much energy and get a little too excited so I jump around or run up and down the stairs. So little kids or adults that aren’t steady on their feet might not be a good thing. I’m working on it, but sometimes I’m just too excited!!! I have learned to walk nicely on a leash. I stick pretty close to either person walking with me and do well when the other dog here is walking with too, but prefer to be with my foster mom if it’s a group walk. I get scared though of other dogs out or on leashes and tend to get a little reactive. We are working on it, but it’s hard to get over that fear. The people here have learned that I am not a fan of my kennel. I won’t fight it when they leave since the other dog here is already in his, but I get very scared to be in there. At night I don’t have to go in there at all now. This makes me so happy and grateful that I curl up and don’t move all night until it’s time to get up in the morning. Sudden movements too close to me or someone reaching out makes me nervous and cower. I am a lot better than I used to be, but it’s still a work in progress. I’m hoping to find a home that can continue to be more relaxed and patient with me as I continue on this learning journey. I like to lay around and relax most of the time and content with watching the world go by in the yard or deck as mom is tending to her gardens. I am a fast runner and need to get that energy out sometimes, so a fenced yard where I can run or someone that will take me on adventures to get that energy out would be ideal. I love to curl up on the couch with either foster parent and just be with them. Are you ready to be my cuddle partner?       Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, Alter, Prepaid microchip, Dewormed, Rabies vaccine (if age appropriate), Distemper combo vaccine(s) appropriate to age, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX (over 6 months of age), Flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue.
