Story
Hugo is a 20 month old puppy/young adult. We rescued him from Second Hand Hounds in August 2022. He is very playful and loves fetch, the dog park and going on walks. He is well socialized with all different types and sizes of dogs, as we go to the dog park often. Hugo loves people and is friendly with everyone he meets. We are looking for a new home for him due to our young children and their behaviors towards him, as well as my husband’s new and extensive travel schedule with work.

Story
Bella is a beautiful yellow lab, she’s been in heat a few times and does well through that. She tends to jump on kids, so small children should be with an adult around her. She is very friendly and means well. She would be great with a single person or a family who could offer her training. She is also crate trained, Bella loves to hang out in her kennel. She loves running around chasing balls, toys and has tons of energy. Overall she’s just a great dog.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi! My name is Leonardo but my friends call me Leo or Good Boy! My birthday is 8/12/23.  I am a 45 lb. labrador mix. I have a beautiful shiny black/brown coat.    I can be shy at first but I’m also a playful pup! I live in a foster home with two dogs and a cat. I love to chase, wrestle, tug, and play bitey face with the young dog.  The older dog and I get along fine but she’s not much for playing. I follow her cues and leave her alone when she says so. I’m curious about and like to sniff the cat - sometimes she scares me and sometimes I’d like to chase her.    Oh boy do I like TOYS! Any toys! All toys! Squeaky toys, chew toys, tug toys, puzzle toys, Kong toys, bone toys, stuffy toys…. you get the picture.  I’m also a fan of fuzzy round beds, ice cubes, ear scratches, fetch, and treats.    The best time of day? Meal time! I am a very enthusiastic eater.  I am very food motivated which will help with my training.    I know sit and down. Sometimes I’ll shake but I will keep you guessing as to when. I am learning to potty outside and walk on a leash. I get better every day! I don’t mind being in my crate most times; I even go in on my own to take naps. I do sometimes protest for a bit when you leave so I’d do best in a home without shared walls.    A note from my foster family: Leo is a good listener; he responds to his name and directions. Activities of small children seem to make Leo nervous so we think he would do best in a home with children 8 or older.  Leo has many great qualities but is still a (giant) puppy.  He will need a family who is active and will commit to training him.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Say hello to Silvia. She is an energetic puppy equally ready to play and snuggle, her estimated DOB is 6/5/23. She is still working on house training. But is picking up kennel training well. Does great playing and interacting with other dogs. She is food motivated so needs to be kept on eye on when feeding other animals. Until she learns that it is not her food. She’s currently a little underweight. But we are working on that, and she should grow into a big healthy girl. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Hi, my name is Elsie and I am a Lab X  with a DOB of 10/22/22 (approx. 50lbs). I am a native to Minnesota where I was found roaming the streets in St Paul. Animal Control was kind enough to give me a lift as I thought it was to my home, but it was to the nearest doggie jail where no one claimed me.   I would like to mention a few characteristics I have that make me stand out from the doggie crowd. -  I hop like a bunny around the yard. -  I patrol the yard for squirrels, rabbits & cats. No one gets past this girl’s watchful eye. -  I am non-reactive with other dogs – I just want to play with them. -  I have a 4’ 5” vertical jump.  6’ fence is recommended -  I Pounce on tennis balls while I play with them. I like to ride a shotgun when it comes to car rides. They make a doggie seat belt as I have been told and I guess that should be used for any car rides in the future. I am learning not to dash out the door when it’s open.  I’m just very excited to follow my foster mom wherever she goes. I love toys, but I don’t share them with other animals. You just need to take all my toys, hide them and I can play with other dogs in harmony.  I have been known to escape my kennel. Because of this I now have my own “No Break Kennel”. This now keeps me out of trouble when I’m home alone. I am not a fan of the kennel, but I settle down quickly.   I tend to pull on the leash, so my foster mom bought me a hot pink gentle leader (I'm the prettiest girl on the block now) and is teaching me basic commands such as heal and stay for starters.  I have to say, so far so good as I do enjoy my walks in the neighborhood.  I am still working on potty training.   What kind of home would do best for me: -  Active home that can release my spirited energy and have dog stimulation toys. -  I am food motivated and this works great for training. -  Be patient as I am still young and learning. -  Love me with all your heart as I will do the same.      Are you my forever home?      Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal? Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fallon is a wise, old soul. He is a Lab/Shepherd X with an approx DOB of 1/20/2022. He’s taking in new experiences as if he’s done all this before! Nothing is too urgent, except for meal time! He loves play time with other dogs and older children. He hasn't had a lot of exposure to children under the age of 10 so slow, controlled intros are advised. He has a nose to hunt and playfully enjoys chasing the chipmunks out of their hiding spots around the yard. He's quite an outdoor explorer, never quite ready to come inside. That being said, he quickly learned the underground fence boundaries and is no longer pushing the limits. He is crate trained, but as he gets older he's more and more comfortable outside of his crate and sometimes needs treat motivation to go in on his own. He loves hugs and snuggles and is always open to curling up in an available lap. Fallon is a medical needs dog. He has urinary incontinence, which requires him to wear belly bands at all times. He is on a strong dose of Proin 2x per day and a monthly testosterone injection, which helps some but he will always be a leaky boy. Changing his pads in his belly band a couple times per day is going to be very important to maintaining his hygiene to avoid urine scalding (burning of the skin due to prolonged exposure to urine). Commands he has learned include “sit”, “down”, “inside”, “outside” and “kennel”. He is making progress with stay, wait, stop and come. He has been with Wags & Whiskers since he was about 10 weeks old but as you can imagine it has taken the rescue a while to figure out what was "wrong" with him. He is now finally ready to find his forever family and we are hoping that his anotomical issues won't deter him from finding a home. He really is a sweet boy that will need a special adopter that is home often and willing to work with his leaky faucet Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Interested in adopting this lovable animal?
