Story
A portion of my adoption fee has been sponsored by my friends at The Murray Fund. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $100.00 will be applied during the contract process. Hi! I'm Buddy and I am an owner surrender. I am deaf, but that doesn't stop me from being an amazing boy! From the Foster: Photos and Videos of Buddy: https://photos.app.goo.gl/uvmNj7g9YXB925CU9 Buddy's dream day would start and end with head scritches and belly rubs, followed by a walk to sniff around a quiet neighborhood, fueled by lots of treats. He'd then take a long car ride on the highway, return home to more head scritches and belly rubs, and enjoy chewing on a bone in his bed before a nap. He's used to having a human companion around for most of the day. He does all right for up to 4-5 hours alone, though if there is food accessible to him, he will find it and eat it. He's a loyal guy who will love his people well and do his best to protect you from squirrels, postal carriers, dogs on the TV, and package delivery trucks. He's friendly towards people, and very food motivated. He's a senior dog who knows what he wants and will communicate it. He's had to navigate some health challenges and can be a bit stubborn or crabby about being unable to do what he wants. Buddy would do best as the only pet in a quiet home, with someone who wants a loyal companion for daily walks, and time together. We have yet to make formal introductions to any other dogs or cats, when we encounter them in the neighborhood, he has a big bark and is learning how to be less reactive. Buddy would do best in a house with no shared walls.

Story
A portion of my adoption fee has been sponsored by my friends at The Murray Fund. The adoption fee sponsorship credit of $450.00 will be applied during the contract process I am Tyler. I am from Missouri. From the foster: Tyler (aka Ty or TieDye) is a very sweet, curious, almost one year old puppy! He's from Missouri, has the cutest little beard and a crooked tail that he still wags very happily! He's high energy at times, with the occasional zoomies, but he also snoozes a lot throughout the day, chews on his bone for long stretches, and loves to snuggle in and watch a show. He loves any kind of ball and plays "soccer" with both his foster brothers who are eight and twelve years old, who adore him. He also loves going on walks and does pretty well on a leash. He does fine with slower walks, but also appreciates going faster as well so may do well with a jogger or runner. He is working on not pulling with excitement when he sees other dogs on his walks. He does great in the car and loves riding along to pick up kids or run errands. He wants to be friends with all dogs and humans, including kids. He needs more socialization with other dogs as he approaches them with a mix of curiosity, hesitation, and not knowing what to do. He can be quite vocal and cries when he sees other dogs that he really wants to play with, and is working on sitting and calming down. He plays well with his best neighbor doggy friend, so will likely do so with other dogs as well with continued socialization. Tyler knows and responds well to "sit", "stay", "come" and "leave it". He is house-trained and sleeps well through the night, in bed with his current foster, without needing to go outside. During the day, he does crates well for short amounts of time after some initial hesitation and resistance, and will at times go into his crate on his own when he's super tired. Ty loves to give kisses and can get a bit mouthy when seeking attention, and will need to continue to work on that. He's also working on not jumping on people when he's super excited to see them. He'd do best with family with older considerate kids based on this. He seems to have a bit of a sensitive tummy with new foods, and has done well with a mix of dry and wet dog food (Pedigree as introduced by his first foster) and treats in between meals, including the occasional blueberry. Tyler is a VERY good boy, and such a lovely, active family dog! He's stolen his current foster family's hearts, and they are sure you'll fall in love with him as well once you meet him!

I am Oreo. I am from Arkansas. From the foster: Hi, I am Oreo! I am an amazing puppy and super smart too. My foster family has been working with me and I have learned a lot. I know a ton of tricks that I have learned really fast but I need some better rewards when in distracting areas. Now that it is getting warmer I love walks. My family is working on leash skills with me and I am pretty good at it but still need work. I am doing really well with potty training and barely ever pee in the house as long as I get let out regularly. I am proud to announce that I am crate trained and can last up to 7 hours if needed but prefer it to be shorter, otherwise I have a ton of energy! Toys, especially ropes, are my favorite and I absolutely love to play with other dogs. I can be a pretty lazy puppy sometimes and love to just chill on the couch with my people, too. I love all people, and enjoy being with them all the time. I enjoy playing with them, being next to them when chewing my bones, and being by their side in the kitchen. Hoping I can do some of that in your home too! From his foster: We have learned that Oreo likes to have dog friends in the house with him. While not completely necessary, he loves to play and will be thrilled if there is a dog to play with all the time.

Story
Hi My name is Dawson. I came to rescue from IL. I originally came as possible hospice due to unique needs but after being monitored by our vetting team , they said I was a perfectly happy boy and I though I have some limitations, with proper check ups, I am graduating from Hospice to be a special Adoptable dog. From his foster: Dawson is bottled joy. He is the sweetest baby, perfectly content just to be in your company. He loves to play, and does so gently. He does beautifully with other dogs and kids. He absolutely loves the water! He would do well with a fenced in backyard with lots of turf where he can run around around--he still has some puppy energy to burn off! Dawson is all heart. He is a darling, darling boy, sweet and full of love. He needs a home that can provide him space to run around comfortably, due to his condition. He loves spending time outdoors, but walking on pavement isn't the most comfortable for him, as he tends to walk on his joint. He loves running on turf or a beach and, of course, being in the water. He is quite agile, despite his condition! He also loves the occasional massage or extra scratches, especially in the areas he can't always reach :) From his temp foster: Dawson is an almost-one year old, medium sized dog, who is transitioning from hospice to special needs adoptable! He has scoliosis (a permanent curve in his neck) and a poorly positioned front leg that his crooked neck pushes forward. He uses his "bad leg for balance and walking, but it does make him have a little limp. Dawson runs and plays like crazy. You can hardly tell that he isn't a normal dog! He does pant all the time, sometimes even when sleeping, but this has been worked up by the vet team and found to be normal for him. He loves his dog friends, and has not been around cats or kids but may do fine with them. He does stand on his back legs and rest his front legs on people or furniture, so he may accidentally knock over small children. While he will go in his kennel willingly, he hates to be stuck in there and will bark constantly; he is often left out when we are gone or overnight, and we haven't had any issues so far. No stairs for Dawson- too difficult with his funny leg. Dawson is a complete delight. In the five weeks I have been fostering him, I have seen him learn how to swim, chase butterflies and stop to look at the sky any time there is a bird or a plane overhead. It has been incredible to watch him learn about the world and enjoy it for all its simplicities. He has, in turn, offered unintentional but gentle reminders for me to do the same--be present and enjoy. Dawson has an early wisdom, but also a contagious curiosity that reminds you he's still a puppy. He loves to play; he loves to be around people and other dogs. He enjoys a car ride and a road trip, where he can continue to look out the window and metabolize the world around him. At the end of the day, he is content to be wherever you are. He is a lovely, lovely dog, loyalist and companion and truly already a better person than I will ever be. From the Vet: Hi! I am Dawson and as you can see from my very cute, wonky self, I have some special needs so I will be looking for a special home! At a young age, my spine started growing in a curve pattern and I was later diagnosed with scoliosis. My caretakers at the rescue didn't know for sure what my quality of life would be like or if my condition would worsen over time. As a now 1 year old pup, we can confidently say and I really don't know I am any different. While the scoliosis causes me to get around differently ie. I can't always run as fast or get up stairs as easily as my friends, I am still stable and happy always! Amputation of my front right leg had been discussed as an option just due to the fact that it could have been getting in my way or causing issues since I can't rely on that side as well as I can my left side. Its not as strong and mobile, but its not causing any issues and I do use it to help me stabilize myself at times so that procedure was determined not to be needed. My respiratory rate was a concern in my previous foster home, but they took a good look at my lungs on x-rays and no issues there! My future home should be prepared to accommodate my unique mobility requirements, but really most of all I hope you love lots of kisses and hugs. Those are my favorite! I can't wait to meet you and find my forever home!

Story
Hi! I'm Baby Cakes and I'm from Minnesota! Hi! My foster parents call me Gabby! I am a shepherd/lab mix and just finished raising my puppies in rescue. I am from Minnesota and came to rescue a few weeks before having my 11 puppies. Now that I have raised my pups, I'm ready for my own furever home - 11 puppies is a lot! I love walks and looking out the window watching the world go by. I'm a gentle soul who will fit in to just about any lifestyle. I'm great with kids - my foster has 2 kids (6 and 9). I have been around other dogs and do well with slow intros (likely I would be more relaxed if I didn't have to protect my puppies) - my foster has 2 dogs that I get along great with. My foster thinks that once I get spayed and don't have to worry about more babies, that encountering boy dogs will make me less anxious. Gabby is aware of cats (neighbor has outdoor cats), but it is unknown if she could live with. I am getting pretty good at the basic commands and Im working hard on recall and "leave it. Mom says I am the perfect house guest! I don't get into any trouble while mom works or at night when free in the house but I'm content in my crate when I need to be. If you're looking for an easy going sweetheart of pup look no further! I'm your girl and I can't wait to join your family!!

Story
Hi, my name is Missy. I am from Kansas. From his foster: Missy is a delightful mixed breed dog eagerly awaiting her forever home. This sweet girl has perfect potty skills. She sleeps through the night in her kennel, and will even sometimes go into her kennel just to relax. She is working on her leash walking skills; she doesn't bark or pull when seeing other dogs, but she does sometimes get spooked by cars and baby strollers. She adores cuddling up with her favorite humans. While Missy can be a tad nervous around unfamiliar noises and situations, she quickly relaxes with a little reassurance. She's would love an active family who can give her the love and attention she craves. Despite her initial anxieties, Missy is a quiet soul-she's never been heard to bark! One thing to note is Missy's penchant for chewing, so an adopter who can help channel her energy positively would be ideal. With her loving nature and gentle disposition, Missy promises to be a loyal companion ready to share countless adventures and cozy moments with her new family.
