Do you sometimes shop late at night, not quite sure what you really want, but loving the surprise of a bargain? Is it cool when what you get isn’t *quite* what you thought it would be ... but you love it even more? Do you love Black Labs with a hint of something special? Then look no further…. Temu is your gal! Temu is a quirky girl who lives up to her namesake every day. Her coat is a beautiful glossy black, and her fur is endlessly soft and petable. Like any good lab, Temu loves the water. She is most likely Lab mixed with Australian Shepherd and has qualities of both breeds. Temu is very loyal and stays close to home. She is being fostered in a rural, unfenced area which Temu thinks is great for runs in the woods and daily swims. While her family works outside, Temu stays close by and entertains herself. Recently, she has been learning to pick her own apples. Temu is about 2 years old, 38# and comes from a sheltered early life. Learning how to properly ‘dog’ is new to her. She recently completed obedience classes and is very smart- she is good with cues and verbal commands. She has a lovely recall and will happily ‘kennel up!’ One of Temu’s superpowers is her ability to get along with other dogs. She has excellent dog manners. She’s also good with cats. She is being fostered by a busy family and is a good fit for teenage kids. If you think you’d be a good Emotional Support Human for Temu, she is interviewing for the position. Key skills she is looking for are confidence, an outgoing personality and being a good leader for her - someone she can trust. She's ready for a person or people to call her very own. Temu is being fostered in St. Joseph, MN. APPLY TO ADOPT Temu at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul. Temu's adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. All of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Hi! I'm Buckles, a playful pup who loves exploring and learning new tricks. I'm super friendly and nothing makes me happier than playing games with kids. I absolutely love kids, but my foster mom said they should be older kids since I get excited and might tend to knock them over when I'm excited.  I'm always ready for a fun adventure or a cozy cuddle. I'm smart too, so teaching me new things will be a breeze! If you're looking for a loyal friend who will bring joy and laughter into your home, I'm the perfect match. Let's make wonderful memories together! Buckles is working on kennel training She is pretty much house trained She is good with other dogs She doesn’t mind cats  She is scared of my chickens and ducks She knows sit.  She walks great on a leash and recalls well off leash to her name.  We are working on lay down, off, stay, place and touch. She understand the concept but has a very short concentration period so we are only doing 5 minutes of training a few times a day and incorporating a lot of toy and tug action to keep her attention.  She loves fetch and will retrieve the ball and return it.  She’s interested in the water but hasn’t made the jump into the pond.  She is a great puppy with a huge personality that loves the world and exploring all it has to offer!  Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.   The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. Apply today! *End of infomercial- cue small print*   Emma is the best girl looking to live her best life. Don’t love the name Emma? No problem! She’s deaf so you can change it to whatever you’d like! She won’t mind. Emma lived about half of her short life (yes, we are talking about over 6 months) in a shelter after being found as a stray. Due to this, she has lots to learn in terms of manners and training, but she is smart and eager! She just needs a strong leader and patience to help her be her best self. After spending so much of her life and time in a kennel at a shelter, being crated isn't her favorite. We (her foster family) have been giving really high value treats and toys when she goes in and she'll happily do so but quickly realizes she's been duped. When Emma comes to this realization, she barks lots and paws and chews on the crate door until she wears herself out. Due to this, a home with shared walls won't be a good idea for her. In an ideal world, she won't be left alone for long periods of time until she has learned that her crate isn't a bad place! Since being out of the shelter, she has been learning some hand signals in her foster home and needs continued consistency. Emma would love another dog in her forever home to play with! A dog her size or larger and that can match her very playful style would be best, otherwise she’ll just be annoying to them. Just ask some of the dogs in her foster home. Hehe! Because she is still working on her manners, a home with small children probably won’t be best. Emma LOVES toys that she gets to push around and that drop treats for her. They keep her occupied and happy! After a good walk or play session, she loves to sleep at your feet or on a dog bed near her people. She loves to be near people and will be completely invested in anything you are doing, even if you think it’s boring! Dishes? Awesome! Making dinner? Sweet! What are you making? My foster parents absolutely adore me and are so thrilled for me to find my forever home. I haven’t had the easiest start in my short life and I am so deserving of love, consistency and fun! Hi! My name is Betty, and I am from Minnesota! I’m a gentle, curious girl who loves being close to my people. Snuggling is one of my favorite things, especially after a walk or a fun game of fetch. I’m happiest exploring the backyard, saying hello to the world on walks, or settling in with a good chew. I can be a little timid when I meet someone new, but with a calm voice and a bit of time, I’m ready to show my playful side. I learn quickly, and I already know my name, sit, and down! More than anything, I just want to be by the people I trust and share all the cozy moments that come with being part of a family. From her foster: Betty is a wonderful, well-mannered, adaptable dog who’s a bit shy at first but quick to warm up. She’s learned our routine quickly and does well uncrated when left alone for short periods. She’s still a little underweight, but steady meals and a consistent routine will have her at a perfect weight soon. Betty gets along great with our resident dog and could happily live with another dog or as an only dog. We don’t have kids or cats, so she hasn’t been tested with them; we’re confident she’d do well with children but unsure about cats since she loves to chase squirrels and bunnies. She’d enjoy a fenced yard to explore, but she’d do just as well without one as long as she gets daily walks. Though initially shy, she quickly shows her affectionate, gentle nature.

Hi, my name is Brooke, I am from Arkansas. From her foster: Brooke is the sweetest and most mellow dog. She is house trained, doesn't go on furniture, jump up on people, and sleeps through the night in her crate. She loves getting her belly rubbed, curling up in a sunny spot, and would sit outside all day if you let her. Medical Bio: I arrived at The Bond Between after previously being hit by a car. I needed 2 orthopedic surgeries (FHO) I have since recovered, but I am still a gal that likes a slower, less active lifestyle. I alsold monitor for any new mass development with a primary arrived with mammary mass that was surgically removed. The biopsy results came back as non-cancerous which is great news. My future adopter shou vet. I have successfully completed my heartworm treatment and should be rechecked for this around December or January. She will likely need bi-annual labwork +/- echocardiograms with a primary care vet and or cardiologist. After her heartworm treatment she was seen with the University of Minnesota and diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. This is currently being managed with a medication; sildenafil, that she will likely be on life long.
