Meet Tostito! This little guy’s heart is bigger than his paws. His favorite things are snuggles and chasing after balls. He’s working hard on potty training. Tostito knows how to sit and waits patiently (for a puppy!) for his food. He’s getting the hang of lay down and stay. If you are looking for a life long friend and shadow, he is your guy!! All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped. To meet this sweet pup, fill out an application today!

Story
Meet Jester! 100% healthy, handsome, and housebroken, Jester is a five-year-old black Lab who’s as sweet as can be. He loves cuddling, belly rubs, and is quick to wag his tail at the sound of your voice. His soulful eyes will melt your heart. Jester enjoys snacking on carrots and cucumbers, and he goes into his crate like a good boy—though he may whine a bit when left alone. He sleeps all night in his foam bed and is very respectful of boundaries; all you have to do is say, “Jester, go lay down.” He loves taking short walks a few times a day but has a high prey drive, so he’ll race after bunnies and squirrels—keep your eyes open and leash tight! He’s not a fan of approaching dogs or people on bikes and may react if he feels they’re encroaching on his “pack,” so whoever is holding the leash needs to be alert and ready to redirect with distractions or circles. Jester loves most people but should be introduced slowly so he can get to know them first. He has some protective or guarding behaviors around his people, yard, and car. He also tends to gently nudge family members during hugs or hand-holding, which may be a form of guarding or related to past trauma that is not known. He’s had multiple training sessions with a professional trainer that absolutely adores him. Because Jester’s unknown history has made him nervous around new people and places, the trainer who worked with him will need to speak with any prospective adopters to ensure it’s a good match and to help set everyone up for success. Jester is very loving, very sweet, and makes a wonderful companion. He loves kisses and head rubs and has a special fondness for stuffies—especially one that looks like Elmo with five squeakers, which we call his baby. Jester is very good about not chewing on things he shouldn't—he leaves shoes, socks, and pillows alone and even spits out inedible things like twigs, rubber, and leaves. Jester's fosters love and believe in him so much that they took the time to create this slideshow highlighting some of their favorite things about him. Check it out at http://bit.ly/47DeShs. Jester is neutered, up to date on necessary, age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative, dewormed and microchipped.

Major is a sweet boy who loves to snuggle and play. He is still young (just turned 2) so has a bit of energy at times, but once he gets his zoomies out, he settles down rather quickly. My heart breaks having to rehome him, but I’ve had health issues ever since I got him.

Story
Do you sometimes shop late at night, not quite sure what you really want, but loving the surprise of a bargain? Is it cool when what you get isn’t *quite* what you thought it would be ... but you love it even more? Do you love Black Labs with a hint of something special? Then look no further…. Temu is your gal! Temu is a quirky girl who lives up to her namesake every day. Her coat is a beautiful glossy black, and her fur is endlessly soft and petable. Like any good lab, Temu loves the water. She is most likely Lab mixed with Australian Shepherd and has qualities of both breeds. Temu is very loyal and stays close to home. She is being fostered in a rural, unfenced area which Temu thinks is great for runs in the woods and daily swims. While her family works outside, Temu stays close by and entertains herself. Recently, she has been learning to pick her own apples. Temu is about 2 years old, 38# and comes from a sheltered early life. Learning how to properly ‘dog’ is new to her. She recently completed obedience classes and is very smart- she is good with cues and verbal commands. She has a lovely recall and will happily ‘kennel up!’ One of Temu’s superpowers is her ability to get along with other dogs. She has excellent dog manners. She’s also good with cats. She is being fostered by a busy family and is a good fit for teenage kids. If you think you’d be a good Emotional Support Human for Temu, she is interviewing for the position. Key skills she is looking for are confidence, an outgoing personality and being a good leader for her - someone she can trust. She's ready for a person or people to call her very own. Temu is being fostered in St. Joseph, MN. APPLY TO ADOPT Temu at hoabcr.org/how-to-adopt As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul. Temu's adoption fee is $450 + MN sales tax. She is spayed, microchipped and up to date on age-appropriate vaccines. All of our dogs go to their new homes with a collar and harness, leash, starter food, blanket, favorite toys & treats. They are current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention.

Story
Hi! My name is Betty, and I am from Minnesota! I’m a gentle, curious girl who loves being close to my people. Snuggling is one of my favorite things, especially after a walk or a fun game of fetch. I’m happiest exploring the backyard, saying hello to the world on walks, or settling in with a good chew. I can be a little timid when I meet someone new, but with a calm voice and a bit of time, I’m ready to show my playful side. I learn quickly, and I already know my name, sit, and down! More than anything, I just want to be by the people I trust and share all the cozy moments that come with being part of a family. From her foster: Betty is a wonderful, well-mannered, adaptable dog who’s a bit shy at first but quick to warm up. She’s learned our routine quickly and does well uncrated when left alone for short periods. She’s still a little underweight, but steady meals and a consistent routine will have her at a perfect weight soon. Betty gets along great with our resident dog and could happily live with another dog or as an only dog. We don’t have kids or cats, so she hasn’t been tested with them; we’re confident she’d do well with children but unsure about cats since she loves to chase squirrels and bunnies. She’d enjoy a fenced yard to explore, but she’d do just as well without one as long as she gets daily walks. Though initially shy, she quickly shows her affectionate, gentle nature.

Story
Hi, my name is Brooke, I am from Arkansas. From her foster: Brooke is the sweetest and most mellow dog. She is house trained, doesn't go on furniture, jump up on people, and sleeps through the night in her crate. She loves getting her belly rubbed, curling up in a sunny spot, and would sit outside all day if you let her. Medical Bio: I arrived at The Bond Between after previously being hit by a car. I needed 2 orthopedic surgeries (FHO) I have since recovered, but I am still a gal that likes a slower, less active lifestyle. I alsold monitor for any new mass development with a primary arrived with mammary mass that was surgically removed. The biopsy results came back as non-cancerous which is great news. My future adopter shou vet. I have successfully completed my heartworm treatment and should be rechecked for this around December or January. She will likely need bi-annual labwork +/- echocardiograms with a primary care vet and or cardiologist. After her heartworm treatment she was seen with the University of Minnesota and diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension. This is currently being managed with a medication; sildenafil, that she will likely be on life long.

Story
Meet Tulip! 🌸 Your new best friend is just a tail wag away! Just look at her great tail ! Tulip is a small mixed breed pup with a big personality and an even bigger heart. With her curly tail, expressive eyes, and bouncy step, she turns heads wherever she goes. Don’t let her size fool you—this little lady is packed with love, joy, and just the right amount of spunk! Tulip is as sweet as they come. She loves cuddles on the couch, playtime in the yard, and belly rubs any time you’re offering. Her playful energy is contagious, but she also knows how to settle down and enjoy the quiet moments. She’s great with other dogs and gets along beautifully with cats, making her a perfect fit for a multi-pet household. Whether she's romping with her furry friends or snuggling up for a nap, Tulip is always happy just being with her people. Quick facts: 🐾 Small shepherd mix 🐾 Curly tail and spunky spirit 🐾 Dog and cat friendly 🐾 Sweet, social, and ready for her forever home Tulip would thrive in a home where she gets love, structure, and space to play. If you’re looking for a loyal companion with a spark of sass and a whole lot of love to give, Tulip is your girl. **Tulip was recently diagnosed with renal dysplasia, which means her kidneys didn’t develop normally before birth. This condition can affect how well her kidneys work over time. Right now, Tulip is feeling good—she eats well, plays, and enjoys her daily walks just like any other dog. Her current care includes a special kidney-friendly diet and regular check-ups with her vet to monitor her kidney function. While there’s no cure for renal dysplasia, many dogs like Tulip live happy, comfortable lives for months or even years with good care and lots of love. We’re looking for a family who can provide her with a stable, low-stress home and continue her veterinary care. In return, Tulip will reward you with endless affection, loyalty, and joy every single day.** Due to Tulip's diagnosis we have reduced her adoption fee by 50%. Her adoption fee will be $330 + tax to ensure her future family can set her up for success with the proper food and vet support. If you’re someone with a big heart who believes that every dog deserves a chance at love and comfort, Tulip might just be your perfect match. 💛 All CSHS pups are spayed/neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, 4DX negative (if older than 6 months), dewormed and microchipped. To meet this sweet pup, fill out an application today https://www.carverscotths.org/
