BONDED PAIR, MUST ADOPT BOTH Hi. I'm Bitzee, a 9 y/o golden/white female shitsu. I'm part of a bonded pair with my 13 y/o chi mix Judah Chase. You see, our owner had to go into hospice care and it broke her heart to give us up. She made the rescue lady promise to adopt us together as we have always lived in the same household and don't know any different. My brother and I get along very well and it is kind of like getting 2 for the price of 1. I am currently about 4 pounds overweight ( currently 14 pounds) but foster Mom is diligently working on that with me. Despite being overweight, I am playful and like to go for walks. I had previously lived in an apartment and hadn't been able to get much exercise because of my owner's health. I had been going potty on potty pads but am now learning to go outside through the doggy door. My brother has already mastered the doggy door and I should soon. I like to go for car rides and am kennel trained. I am able to be kept unkenneled without being destructive and am not a huge barker. I am extremely loyal and like to follow my human around. I am good with children and other small dogs. It is unknown as to how I would do with large dogs or cats since foster mom doesn't have either. So, if you are interested in a bonded pair of small dogs, have your peeps contact my peeps and let's get this love fest started. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Jeffrey needs a patient human companion as he is a special needs dog with three good legs and one that he struggles with. It would be best if he is in a single level home with no stairs or children; other dogs are ok. He is completely house broken, loves people and being the center of attention and will bring loads of joy into your home. Jeffrey does great on short and slow walks. In the grass he is a little more comfortable and confident with his leg.You do not need a crate for Jeffrey as he does well when left alone. He is totally flexible where he sleeps and he will sleep in-which can be a bonus if you're not an early morning person. Alumni Super Sweet Senior, Mickey Seeking A Forever Home! Poor Mickey! Through no fault of his own he has had at least 4 homes! We found him in 2016 at a community free access shelter at the height of the canine flu! Not only was that a strike against bim but he had broken toes and was next in line to the euth room. We got him our in the nick of time. We covered his medical care. He improved, and healed and landed a lovely new Mom. Sadly Coved him and his mom passed. The family sent Mickey to live with a family friend that adored him. Sadly, his new Mom fell ill and needed to relinquish him to us. No Micky is on the hunt for a forever family that won't let him down. Mickey is a very gentle boy that loves everyone. He is pretty quiet, happy to take long naps in between wandering around the yard, sitting on a deck or taking a walk. He is also happy to nap with you and the family cat! He is quiet and always hoping yummy food might drop his way. He gets along with everyone. He was pee pad trained which might be helpful. We estimate he is 14ish.. He is a healthy fella although has had some allergy issues in the past and recovered IVDD. Mickey is fully vetted, He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and is heartworm negative, His adoption donation is $450.00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family, Little Dogs can live to be 25 years old so he wants to be sure al for better or for worse! We adopt in the local Chicago metro area. Story
Lotus is being fostered in PA. Lotus is a sweet, slightly timid but gentle petite and spry little girl who has a beautiful light gray with dark gray soft coat of fur. She has dry eye and significant ear infections that are still being treated in her foster home. She will need drops for her eyes but the over the counter drops are working well for her eyes right now. She will be having dental surgery on September 11th and the veterinarian will decide then if she needs any procedures done to her ears to open the canals at that time. They are very painful right now and it is impossible to get a good look deep inside. An update will be posted after her surgery on the 11th. She lives with several other smaller dogs, one larger dog and two cats and does very well with all of them. She is indifferent with them all and just wants to be where her foster mom is. She is very good with her house manners and has learned to follow her foster mom to the door to go outside and can find her way around the fenced yard and back up onto the porch. She does not tolerate being in a crate or confined area and will bark constantly. She does wonderfully when she has free roam of the house during the day when her mom is at work. She will beg to get onto her foster mom's lap during tv time at night and nuzzles in quickly to nap. Aside from being just a tiny bit skittish, she is a perfect little girl with a sweet personality. Lotus may need eye drops for the duration and we are not yet sure about her ears although they are improving nicely. After years of chronic and untreated infections, it's not a surprise that it may take some time to get her ears back to healthy but her hearing may not improve. She does have issues hearing but she can hear some, and the same can be said about her vision, although she seems to see better than she hears. She has slight cataracts and some of the vision problems could be caused from chronic and untreated dry eye. It needs to be said that she is very stubborn when it comes to getting her eye drops and ear meds in at this time. We are hopeful that as the discomfort in her ears improves and she learns to associate positives (treats given) before and after administration of her meds, that she will learn to be more calm during her medicine time of day. She does not bite but is a huge wiggle worm and can pull out of any trick or grip her foster mom has tried. She is a joy to have as a foster dog and adjusted quickly to her foster home. BDRA has voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
