Jeffrey needs a patient human companion as he is a special needs dog with three good legs and one that he struggles with. It would be best if he is in a single level home with no stairs or children; other dogs are ok. He is completely house broken, loves people and being the center of attention and will bring loads of joy into your home. Jeffrey does great on short and slow walks. In the grass he is a little more comfortable and confident with his leg.You do not need a crate for Jeffrey as he does well when left alone. He is totally flexible where he sleeps and he will sleep in-which can be a bonus if you're not an early morning person. BONDED PAIR, MUST ADOPT BOTH Hi. I'm Bitzee, a 9 y/o golden/white female shitsu. I'm part of a bonded pair with my 13 y/o chi mix Judah Chase. You see, our owner had to go into hospice care and it broke her heart to give us up. She made the rescue lady promise to adopt us together as we have always lived in the same household and don't know any different. My brother and I get along very well and it is kind of like getting 2 for the price of 1. I am currently about 4 pounds overweight ( currently 14 pounds) but foster Mom is diligently working on that with me. Despite being overweight, I am playful and like to go for walks. I had previously lived in an apartment and hadn't been able to get much exercise because of my owner's health. I had been going potty on potty pads but am now learning to go outside through the doggy door. My brother has already mastered the doggy door and I should soon. I like to go for car rides and am kennel trained. I am able to be kept unkenneled without being destructive and am not a huge barker. I am extremely loyal and like to follow my human around. I am good with children and other small dogs. It is unknown as to how I would do with large dogs or cats since foster mom doesn't have either. So, if you are interested in a bonded pair of small dogs, have your peeps contact my peeps and let's get this love fest started. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)

Meet Penny Penny is a purebred Shih Tzu who joined us in July after being found laying on a sidewalk in Chicago earlier in the summer during a heatwave. She was heatstroke and very dehydrated; a good Samaritan took her to the ER for immediate care. With fluids and support care, Penny recovered and was taken to Chicago Animal Control where she sat, until we took her into our Rescue. Penny is a sweet little pup, estimated to be 2-3 years old, and just 11 lbs. She has somewhat of a unique personality, for a young pup. She’s very mellow and is a bit of a loner. While fine with other dogs, she is not really interested in playing with them. That said, she may prefer to be an only dog but we do expect her to evolve into her true self, once she settles into her forever home with her forever family. Penny is fully vetted, heartworm negative and on year-round prevention, spayed and microchipped. She is reported to be housebroken as well. Alumni Super Sweet Senior, Mickey Seeking A Forever Home! Poor Mickey! Through no fault of his own he has had at least 4 homes! We found him in 2016 at a community free access shelter at the height of the canine flu! Not only was that a strike against bim but he had broken toes and was next in line to the euth room. We got him our in the nick of time. We covered his medical care. He improved, and healed and landed a lovely new Mom. Sadly Coved him and his mom passed. The family sent Mickey to live with a family friend that adored him. Sadly, his new Mom fell ill and needed to relinquish him to us. No Micky is on the hunt for a forever family that won't let him down. Mickey is a very gentle boy that loves everyone. He is pretty quiet, happy to take long naps in between wandering around the yard, sitting on a deck or taking a walk. He is also happy to nap with you and the family cat! He is quiet and always hoping yummy food might drop his way. He gets along with everyone. He was pee pad trained which might be helpful. We estimate he is 14ish.. He is a healthy fella although has had some allergy issues in the past and recovered IVDD. Mickey is fully vetted, He has been neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and is heartworm negative, His adoption donation is $450.00. He is on the hunt for his own completely committed family, Little Dogs can live to be 25 years old so he wants to be sure al for better or for worse! We adopt in the local Chicago metro area.
