Age: Approximately 11 years old Weight: 13 pounds Dog friendly: yes, small dogs, but would prefer to live as an only dog Cat friendly: Yes, but prefers to be an only pet Kid friendly: No Potty trained: Yes Crate trained: Yes, but doesn’t need it If darling Mimi has a fault, it's that she loves too hard. This older girl is a delightful companion; affectionate, calm, and loving with her person, and she bonds quickly, but would prefer not to share. Her ideal world is one where she spends the majority of her time near her owner, in a quiet environment with no other pets, and few other people around. She is eager to please, and is learning not to resort to antisocial behaviors to protect her best beloved, but needs consistent reinforcement to succeed. She has loved every woman she has met, but is quite selective with men, and should not be around small children. Mimi has some health challenges, like many older ladies, but is thriving with prescription food and arthritis medication. She is happy and playful, and loves to spend time snuggling or just being near you. She is house trained, does well in her crate, though she is just fine left free in the home, and both travels and walks on leash well. With a quiet environment and clear expectations she is delightful, loving, slightly goofy, and excellent company. She will be the perfect devoted companion to the right person, and is looking forward to spending the rest of her life loving them fiercely. Most of our adoptable dogs were previously stray dogs with little history, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s breed mix, and unless there is a specific date of birth listed, we can’t be 100% sure of a dog’s age. Additionally, our assessments of a dog's interactions with other dogs, cats, or children are based on OUR experiences. Your experience may differ.
