He is a gentle, affectionate pup who enjoys being part of the action and will make a wonderful companion for a lucky family.Lotzo does have stage 3 Kindey Disease so this means he requires medical management through special food, supplements and routine lab work. He also has a suspected structural or neurological abnormality causing a strange gait with his back legs and a noticable back leg drag. Despite his ongoing medical needs, Lotzo is a very sweet boy looking for his perfect home. Will that be you?Estimated monthly cost of his special food and supplements are roughly $65/month. If you have previously applied with us please email placement@midwestanimalrescue.org to reactivate your application with new interest.All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. We accept Credit cards, Debit cards as well as cash. At this time we do not accept checks. Our Adoption fees for all animals cover required vetting: which includes, Rabies, Distemper Vaccine Series, Bordetella, Deworming, Heartworm Test as age appropriate, Spay or Neuter and Microchip and registration. Adoption Fees are Non Negotialble. All fees are subject to MN sales tax and a processing fee at the time of adoption. Brodie and his two sisters, Bubbles and Buttercup were surrendered to a kill shelter because their owners just had too many and couldn’t find homes on their own. Their mom is a long-haired Chihuahua and their daddy is a Shih Tzu and they were born on February 2nd this year so they are nine months old. Brodie has been neutered, is up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm negative. He’s also microchipped. He weighs just under 12 pounds and is probably full grown now. Brodie is great at the Vet and The Groomer and loves riding in the car. He needs a little practice on the leash and he’s making great progress on his house training. Brodie absolutely loves being held! He is a real snuggler! He would be fine with older children, and he loves his sisters so after proper intro he would like other 4 legged family members. Their mom is a long-haired Chihuahua and their daddy is a Shih Tzu and they were born on February 2nd this year so they are 8 months old. Buttercup has been spayed, is up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm negative. She’s also microchipped. She weighs just under 7 pounds and is probably full grown now. Buttercup is great at the Vet and The Groomer and loves riding in the car. She needs a little practice on the leash and she’s making great progress on house training. Buttercup is a little bossy but plays great with her brother and sister. we feel like she would be fine with other dogs after getting to know them but would always want to be the boss. She would be fine with older children, and we are not sure about cats but the bossy part would be the same at first. I am house trained and although I'm not left alone a lot, my foster mom and dad trust me to have free roam of the house while they are away. I sleep in my crate at night, but if my forever home let me sleep in bed with them, I think I'd be cool with that. I do really well riding in the car and my leash skills aren't too shabby. I like stuffed animals and chewing on them is my favorite! My foster home has a fenced in yard where I love to run around, but that is not a requirement for me as long as I have other outlets to get my exercise in. I do get spurts of energy, but I'm not the kind of guy who is in constant go-mode. I am really happy chilling on the couch or in a comfy dog bed. I currently live with cats and other small dogs. I needed an adjustment period to learn boundaries with them and now we live happily together. My foster parents believe that I'd do great as an only pet too. I don't live with kids now and I think responsible and respectful kids would be ok. I sometimes have a lot to say and shared walls wouldn't be the best fit for me. I am treat and food motivated and I get overly excited for breakfast and dinner time. If my forever home took me to a training class, I bet I would be a wonderful student!
