Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Ottie is a total love bug. He is a Shih Tzu born approximately 12/5/2019. He loves to cuddle with this human(s) morning, noon, and night.   He’s an incredibly adorable and very loving dog.   It took some time for him to get used to the other dogs and cats, and he still has some territorial issues with regard to food and love/attention from his human.  He likes to bite, but not too hard, and chew on things so be sure to have lots of toys for him to play with.  Ottie is not crate trained, but we are working on it.  He does not like to be in a crate, but he does seem to settle as long as he can see or hear his human nearby.   He is coming along with his potty training.  I think when he’s in a new place, he gets a little stressed and confused, but he did manage to do his business on potty pads.  Ottie has been to the vet, and they found a cataract in one of his eyes, so potential adopters should know he will need to have annual eye exams.  He does bark, but it’s only to tell you that he’s hungry or wants your attention.   He likes clothing and will drag it out of any place he can find them and bring them out to play.  He is an incredibly sweet and happy dog.  He likes to play and chase anything or anyone willing to play or be chased.  Any household would be lucky to have him in it.  He will make someone a very wonderful companion. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, dental, prepaid microchip, dewormed, Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $650.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 7, 2023, 11:55 pm

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. //     Find our applications at www.midwestanimalrescue.orgAdoption Fee $400 plus taxRequirements Securely fenced yard Stevie has made more progress in the last couple weeks. He’s more confident walking on a leash and coming when called, still a little shy meeting people on his walks but runs right up to the neighbors to get pets, he’s always looking for human attention and will put his paws on you to get petted and loved up. He’s certainly a cuddle boy. We are still working on potty training but are only having an accident about once every three days.  Stevie doesn’t like to be crated and has free roam when we are not home. He has also shown interest in toys and will entertain himself. He’s such a great little fellow and wants to share his love with his very own family.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.  or    *The pet you are viewing is a rescued pet which is most often from an animal control facility and does not come with a pedigree. The breed(s) listed are our best guess and are in no way guaranteed. Sometimes the pets appear to be a particular breed(s) in the pictures we receive from our rescue partners and when they arrive we are surprised to see an entirely different breed(s) in person!  If you choose to DNA test your adopted pet, test results may vary from company to company and our breed guess may not be reflected in those results as it is just that, our best guess. It is with deep longing that we wish there was a breed called 'cute' as we believe all of our dogs would fall under this new breed classification! Completion of an Adoption Application via our website www.midwestanimalrescue.org is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is the first step in our adoption process.  *Animals who are not fully vaccinated and altered are not eligible for long distance adoption. When you adopt a pet from Midwest Animal Rescue and Services, your adoption fee covers: Microchip and registration, Core Vaccines including Rabies, Distemper and bordetella, age appropriate heartworm testing or FeLV-FIV testing, sterilization, heartworm/flea-tick prevention and deworming while in foster care.  Adoption fees are non-negotiable and can be paid by cashier's check, money order or credit card. We do not accept personal checks. Any issues that arise after adoption are the full responsibility of the adopter after the finalization of adoption. Adoption fees are only part of the expense of owning a pet, so we ask you to consider the costs for the life of the pet before adoption. We recommend pet insurance.   //

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi! I was given the name Craig but my foster mom calls me pip or pip squeak. I am a 9 year old shih tzu that was rescued from a breeder. I am not shy at all, I warm up to people very quickly and want to sit on your lap or right next to you. I was given a real short haircut before coming to Minnesota so I can't wait to show you how cute I am with more hair plus it is cold here in Minnesota. I am kennel trained but really don't like it and would rather sleep under the covers with you. While at the breeder I never had to worry about getting potty trained so I am struggling a little with that but I will use a potty pad. Sadly I also had jaw surgery and I came out with flying colors but may need my dry food watered down or wet food diet.  I have other dogs here at my foster mom's house and they don't bother me and I don't bother them. Now let's talk about cats. If the cats run, I will chase them but when they are in the bed with me, I snuggle up to them. I haven't gone for walks yet cuz it is cold out there. I know that you won't be able to resist my cute little face and want me to be yours. Adoption fee includes: Full veterinary exam, alter, prepaid microchip, dewormed, dental, jaw surgery,  Rabies vaccine, DAPP vaccine, Bordetella vaccine, 4DX , flea/tick and heartworm preventative while in rescue. Adoption fee: $250.00 Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 7, 2023, 11:55 pm

I was saved from the pound in Missouri when it was snowing in Minnesota. I am a Shih Tzu and 10 years young.    Unfortunately you don’t get to see my beautiful big eyes because I lost them to severe glaucoma.    Although I cannot see you when you cuddle me so near, I know you love me, it's in the words I hear.   Although I cannot see you when you hold me by your side, still I know you love me when you tell me so with pride.   I cannot see to run and play out in the sun so bright, for here inside my tiny head it's always dark as night.   I cannot see the treats you give when I am extra good, but I can wag my tail in thanks just like a good dog should.   You know that it's alright because I will love you just as much as any dog with sight.   I hope we will never part, because I see you in my heart. Story
Ginger is the perfect “comfort pup.” If you need to play, she is down for it, but if you also need a “chill pup” she will lay on the deck for hours! She gets along great with big and small dogs and ignores cats. Ginger as the best energy for playing, snuggling and sleeping you will ever see! Ginger would be a great role model for younger dog on how to “dog” in the most relaxing way while also making you laugh with her cute energy and playfulness. Ginger would be a perfect dog for any household! This loving senior Shih Tzu is around 14 years old and 18 pounds. She came from a situation where she wasn't getting the grooming and care she needed. She doesn't have many teeth, so she requires wet food, and she may need daily eye drops. She's house trained and thriving in her foster home, so she's ready to find forever!Ginger's foster has offered to sponsor part of her adoption fee, so it's been reduced to $150.IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adoptAll of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or $200 for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location. Petfinder lists our pets as ''Out of Town'' pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transportWe understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.June 8, 2023, 9:36 am
