Story
If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please complete  an Adoption Request Form. This is the best way to show your interest in an animal and is not a binding contract. To learn more about our adoption process, please visit our Adoption Process page on our website at www.rescuecrew.org.   Meet Teddy (Cash), a very special foster boy looking for a patient, understanding forever home. Teddy came from a mill situation. He was not adopted until he was 6 months old and was surrendered after just four days in his first home, through no fault of his own. He is still learning what the world is. New people, loud noises, and busy environments make him nervous. But once he gets comfortable, he truly blossoms into the happiest, most loving companion you could ask for. Because of his past, Teddy is terrified of many new things, places, and experiences. Leashes are still very scary and confusing for him, and he currently freezes when one is put on. He will need a secure fenced yard where he can safely go outside and explore while continuing to build confidence at his own pace. Teddy absolutely loves other dogs and needs a home with at least one confident, friendly dog companion. He would not do well as an only dog. Having another dog around helps him feel safe, build confidence, and learn how to navigate the world. He lights up around other dogs and gains comfort from having them nearby. He also knows some helpful words like “come,” “eh-eh,” and “go potty.” Because the world can still feel overwhelming, Teddy would do best in a calm home where things are not too loud or chaotic. He does not love his kennel and can be vocal when kenneled or left alone, so an apartment or shared-wall living situation would not be a good fit. He would thrive in a home where someone is around most of the time and where he has a dog buddy for comfort. Outside of being kenneled or left alone, Teddy is not a big barker. He is calm and quiet in the home and is not bothered by everyday noises. Despite his fears, Teddy is truly a happy little boy at heart. He loves to play, get pets, and lounge around. He is also doing well with potty training and continues to make great progress every day. With patience, consistency, and love, Teddy settles in and starts to shine. When he feels safe, his sweet, loving personality comes through in the best way. He just needs someone willing to give him the chance he deserves. Age and breed are based on veterinarian and intake professional’s recommendation and not guaranteed as a rescue animal’s history is often unknown. All companion animals adopted by The Rescue Crew are spayed/neutered, up-to-date on age appropriate vaccinations, tested for FIV/FeLK (cats) or heartworm (dogs), microchipped, dewormed and provided with monthly flea/tick and heartworm preventatives prior to adoption.   The Rescue Crew is a foster based rescue organization, meaning all of our adoptable pets are located in homes throughout Minnesota. We do not have a physical location where you can stop by to visit the animals - we require the completion of an Adoption Request Form prior to meeting any of our adoptable pets in foster care. For the most complete information regarding this animal, and all of our adoptable pets, please ensure you are visiting our website directly at www.RescueCrew.org. You can also access the necessary online forms here as well.  ##2688702##

Story
Bubbles and her sister Buttercup were surrendered to a kill shelter because their owners just had too many and couldn’t find homes on their own. Their mom is a long-haired Chihuahua and their daddy is a Shih Tzu and they were born on February 2nd last year so they are now a year old. Bubbles has been spayed, is up-to-date on vaccines and heartworm negative. She’s also microchipped. She weighs about 9 pounds and is full grown now. Bubbles is great at the Vet and The Groomer and loves riding in the car. She needs a little practice on the leash and she’s making great progress on house training. Bubbles is a very friendly and a super snuggler! She and Buttercup are very bonded and we would very much like to get them a home together. They are so funny together! They play and run zoomies around the house. They would do well with older children and we have not had them around cats but we feel like she would be fine with proper introduction. If you would like to give this super affectionate love bug along with her sister, their forever home, please email omlc7@hotmail.com or dogs4mylife@gmail.com. If you do not see a response, please check your spam folder.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Starling is a brave little six-year-old Shih Tzu whose sweet, silly personality has truly blossomed in foster care. When she first arrived, she was terrified of people and her new environment—but she has made incredible progress and is so ready to continue that journey in a loving forever home. These days, Starling seeks out her people and happily spends time nearby—especially if there’s a lap involved. Once she feels safe, her playful, quirky side shines through in the cutest ways: a little bounce here, a wiggly roll there, or rubbing her face along the ground in pure joy. It’s impossible not to smile around her. Starling has gained so much confidence in her day-to-day life. She proudly trots up and down stairs, is fully potty trained on a schedule, and does wonderfully with full access to the main floor while her foster parent is away. She loves exploring the yard, carefully sniffing every corner with growing curiosity and confidence. While she may be timid when first meeting new people, she warms up quickly and becomes a devoted, affectionate companion. She has shown friendly curiosity toward neighbor dogs with no signs of fear or aggression, suggesting she could thrive either as an only dog or as part of a pack. Starling is still learning that the leash isn’t so scary—she currently freezes when it’s introduced—so she’ll need a patient adopter committed to helping her build confidence at her own pace. She is crate trained, knows “go potty,” and is overall a wonderful, well-mannered little girl. She will also need regular grooming to keep her coat healthy and comfortable (her groomer reports she’s an absolute angel!). Starling has worked so hard to become the joyful little princess she is today. Starling didn’t just learn how to be a dog-  she learned how to love, and now she’s ready to give that love to someone who sees just how special she is.  With a gentle, patient home, she will continue to blossom into an incredibly loyal, loving, and delightfully quirky companion who gives her whole heart once she knows she’s home.  Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal.
