Unfortunately you won’t get to see my beautiful big eyes because I lost them to severe glaucoma.   Although I cannot see you when you cuddle and hold me, I know you love me, it's in the words I hear when you tell me with pride.   I am quite selective with food and treats, like all princesses would, but I do appreciate your patience and love just like a good dog should.   I love walks but I am very slow with no eyes to guide me. I am a fun, playful, attention seeking, cuddle dog (once comfortable). I play with my sister with enthusiasm and vocalizing. I need another dog to play with and keep me company. I start out shy but warm pretty quickly. I love being out in my fenced yard and welcoming to neighbor dogs when I see them. I am crate trained, am an excellent listener, and can basically follow commands. I love food and treats almost as much as I like cuddling with my temp family, humans and other dogs. Note from my foster mom: Valerie is very sweet and an extra special gal who loves her sister (Padme, also listed). Not believed to be bonded pair, it would be great if they could go together. They love one another and have spent all or a good deal of their lives together. Playing, care and mutual support could make transition to a forever home more simple. Age: Approximately 5 years old Weight: 13 lbs Dog friendly: Yes Cat friendly: unknown Kid friendly: Unknown Potty trained: Yes, good on a schedule Crate trained: Yes Required: Companion Dog & Physical Fence Hello, my name is Padme. I may be about 5 y.o., but have a lust for life and fun of a 3 y.o. I'm curious, playful and a happy girl. I love the tussel with my sister, (also listed for adoption) Valerie. I could adjust to playing with another dog. I vocalize quite a bit, sometimes it sounds aggressive; but mostly just playing hard. I love to be outside and run free in a fenced yard. I have good manners and training for in the house. I can sleep in a crate, a bed on the floor or a bed. I like to snuggle and get plenty of attention. I'm a fun gal, but new people will have to approach me slowly and let me learn about them before I warm up. Especially children (sometimes men) who approach before I trust them. Once we know each other, I am a pushover! I prefer a quiet home. If left alone for long periods I will use my voice but I’m usually quite quiet. I tell my foster mom when I need to go outside and even wake her in the night. I need a good and patient home and I will help you fill it with love! Note from my foster mom: Padme is a great dog, a genuine sweet. She's easy to love. A vet said she has a heart murmured, but I can see no obvious signs of her slowing down, breathing hard, or coughing. Overall, she's interested, active, and playful. Story
Hi, my name is Bella!  The first thing you should know is that I will follow MY human everywhere. If sit down, I will sit right beside you and cuddle any chance I get. Oh, and I like to help keep the house clean- I'm told this is one of my best features. For example, if we’re outside and the ground is wet when we come inside, I will wait for you to dry off my paws before I go walking through the house. I also spend the nights in my kennel and not complain. In the mornings sometimes you’ll hear me like a tiny alarm clock waking you up, but I’m not very loud. I also know that the first thing we do is go outside. But this is where I have a little bit of trouble because, although I know to use potty pads in the house if I have to go, I don't aways remind my foster mom to take me outside... except in the mornings! My foster mom does this really weird crazy dance outside when I actually do go potty and it makes me laugh. I love being outside when the weather is nice, especially when it means going for walks with my human. I really just want to be with you and when I'm out in the yard without structure, I get a little too caught up with all the things around me. My foster mom says I bark at the wind. Together, we are working on that and I am trying really hard to bark less. If we go for a walk, though, I’m much more focused and I enjoy seeing all the things there is to see, plus it's great bonding time!  This is Bella‘s Foster mom and I would recommend that Bella be the single dog in a household. She is currently fostered with my resident dog and she shows no interest in socializing. Bella will play by herself with her own toys, but does not engage with my dog at all and tells her to go away if she tries to come around to play. She also prefers a quieter household with no children. It does seem that some sudden movements still spook her which does cause her to snap at you a little bit. The potty training has been coming along a little slow, but she is progressing very well. She was obviously trained in her previous life to use potty pads so I think going outside is just a new experience. She does great in her kennel and sleeps through the night or if you prefer, she is a great bed partner as well. All in all, it has been really fun having Bella here. She has the softest fur and most beautiful big brown eyes and just wants to be with you any chance she gets. When she gets that burst of energy and she wants to play, she will grab her toy and just run through the house like a little mad woman and you can’t stop laughing. She truly is a little spitfire ##2008779##

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.    Hello, my name is Charleston! I am a dashing, calm, and very sweet senior male Shih Tzu who loves to sit on foster mom’s lap while she works. I’m not really into toys but I enjoy watching TV, sleeping in bed with mom at night, and I LOVE to eat food and treats, especially popcorn… YUUUMMM! Oh yea, I’m quite the dancer too! It’s true, in fact, I think my moves are better than Fred Astaire’s and I like to show off my dancing prowess whenever I want a treat or to be lifted onto the couch. By the way, I also did great at the groomer but then who doesn’t want to look all spiffy am I right!?! Anyway, I do not like being left alone and I hate the kennel/crate! As a matter of fact, I will bark in either of those situations so hopefully my new family will be home with me (and doesn’t have shared walls!). I am, however, good about doing my business outside on a schedule; I do well with the leash; and I’m great with kids, cats, and other small dogs like me. All I need now is YOU…a patient, unconditionally loving fur-ever family that will NEVER give up on me. I’m a patient guy with a wonderful soul and a heart that is brimming with love that I want to share with you! I really hope you’ll be my new family…I assure you that life will be MUCH better if we share it together! Love, Charleston *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. This will be at the adopter’s expense, so we encourage you to research the breed and be prepared for grooming expenses. Underdog cannot guarantee hypoallergenic or non-shedding qualities of any dogs in our rescue. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.   ***Be sure to check your spam/junk folder as sometimes our emails end up there*** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.If you have other questions about me you can email Underdog Rescue at <inquiries@underdogrescuemn.com> ADOPTION EVENTS:      Adoption events are updated at the top of each dogs animals' as their foster home signs up. Check back for updates on which events they will be attending. If an event is not listed within their bio above, the animal is not planning to attend.  Please understand that all of our pets are in volunteer foster homes and sometimes "life" happens and the foster family cannot make it to their scheduled adoption event. If you are traveling from a far distance to meet a specific animal, please understand we cannot guarantee event attendance. We recommend filling out an application and we will set up a private appointment. Private appointments are only scheduled after an application is submitted and approved. ADOPTION PROCEDURE: The first step in our process is to complete an online adoption application on our website: http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/adoptionprocess/   Note: In most circumstances Underdog Rescue will only adopt within 60 miles of Minneapolis, MN.  All of our foster animals can be seen by appointment with an approved adoption application. Contact us at http://www.underdogrescuemn.com/contact-us/ if you have further questions. FOSTER CARE: All of our animals are fostered in individual homes or doggie daycare facilities. While they are in our care, they are part of our families and given lots of love. We work on training, crate-training and socialization prior to adoption, but each bio is written by the foster as they see them, in their home. Each animal's behavior is evaluated and we have a sense of its temperament and personality, but it cannot be guaranteed. We look for adopters who will give each animal the wonderful life and permanent home that he or she deserves in time and with patience.  If you have an interest and ability to be a foster home, please visit our website  www.underdogrescuemn.com/foster-applications  and fill out a foster application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hey there, I’m Archie! I may be a senior, but let me tell you, I’ve still got plenty of love and energy to go around. I’m a total indoor dog—I mean, who needs the great outdoors when you’ve got all the cozy comforts of home, right? Whether it’s rain or shine, I’m perfectly content to do my business outside and then hurry back indoors for some quality snuggle time. Toys? Oh, I can’t get enough of them! Soft, crinkly, you name it—I’ll play with anything you give me. And when it comes to treats, well, let’s just say I’ve never met one I didn’t like. Now, about that fenced yard situation—I’m not so sure I need one. Sure, I enjoy the occasional walk, but I’m not dependent on it for bathroom breaks. I’m more of a in-and-out kind of guy when it comes to outdoor activities. Plus, I’m not the best on a leash and new things can make me a little nervous, so having a safe and secure yard where I can play without worry sounds like a dream. But let me tell you, when it comes to snuggles, I’m the absolute best. I’ll cuddle up with you for hours on end, bringing joy and warmth to your home every single day. So if you’re looking for a loving companion who’s just as happy playing with toys as he is snuggling up on the couch, then look no further—I’m your guy, Archie, ready to bring a whole lot of love into your life! *Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Each dog receives basic grooming when coming into rescue, but for some dogs they have not received grooming attention until recently and grooming may be required shortly after adoption. NUTRITION: Nutrition is vital to the rehabilitation and life-long health of our pets.  All of our foster animals are fed a premium diet such as NutriSource, Canidae, Orijen, Nature's Variety, Fromm, Pure Vita, Stella and Chewy's, Primal, or balanced raw diet.  All adopters are required to continue providing premium diets for the life of the animal. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Thank you for stopping by to see me!  Please fill out an application to set up  a private meeting.  Hey there, I'm Annie! At 7 pounds, I might be small, but my heart is as big as they come. Being a senior Shih Tzu, I've learned a thing or two about what truly matters in life—mainly, spending quality time with my favorite humans. In my foster home, I've settled in quite nicely. From the moment I arrived, I felt right at home, eagerly exploring every nook and cranny. While I'm generally a quiet girl, I won't hesitate to bark if something catches my attention outside the window or if there's a visitor at the door. But don't worry, I'm just doing my job as a loyal companion! One thing I really enjoy is spending time outdoors. While I don't have a fenced yard to roam freely in, I'm perfectly content going for walks on my leash. Oh, and car rides? I'm a pro at those—I'll sit quietly and enjoy the scenery without a fuss. Now, when it comes to my favorite activities, nothing beats snuggling up with my person. I absolutely love curling up next to you in the chair, soaking up all the love and affection you have to offer. Toys? Not really my thing. I'd much rather be by your side, enjoying your company. As for training, I'm almost there with my potty training—I just need a little consistency. And while I'm not a big fan of crates, I'll eventually settle down if need be. I do bark when home alone, so would prefer a forever home with people that are home a lot. But let's talk about the positives, shall we? I'm an adorable girl with a heart of gold. If I want your attention, I'll gently paw at your foot—it's my way of saying, "Hey, let's hang out!" And let's not forget about my irresistibly cute face—who could resist giving me all the cuddles? So, if you're looking for a sweet, loving companion to join you on life's adventures, look no further. I'm Annie, and I can't wait to become your loyal sidekick!
