Story
RUDY 2 years Attributes Dog friendly Housetrained Good on car rides Playful Snuggly High energy Meet Rudy! Rudy is an approximately two-year-old Beagle who has never met a stranger! After being found as a stray, he's now looking for a forever family that will give him the love, attention, and active lifestyle he deserves. With his happy personality, adorable Beagle charm, and endless affection, it's no surprise that everyone who meets him falls in love. Rudy is house-trained and has diligent manners inside the home. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, and off, and because he's highly food motivated (he is a Beagle, after all!), he's eager to learn and responds well to positive reinforcement. Like any young dog, he occasionally gets curious about something he shouldn't have, but a little redirection to one of his toys is all it takes, and he's right back on track. He's full of puppy energy and loves to play! Rudy enjoys carrying his toys around, entertaining himself, and playing games with his people. He'll even play a game of fetch from time to time. He's generally a quiet dog, but when he's having fun with his toys, don't be surprised to hear a few adorable Beagle sounds as he talks to himself. Rudy loves other dogs and has a blast at doggy daycare. He enjoys playing with his canine friends and matches their energy well. While he can be a little dominant at times, he's never overly rough. His biggest challenge is that he loves people so much that if someone is giving another dog attention, Rudy is convinced it's his turn too! He'll happily squeeze in for pets and belly rubs, which happen to be his absolute favorite. Because of his age and energy level, Rudy would do best with a family that can provide plenty of exercise, playtime, and opportunities to burn off that youthful energy. Since Beagles are famous for their love of food, staying active will help him maintain a healthy weight. He'll also benefit from a family willing to continue reinforcing his manners, especially when it comes to patiently sharing attention. Rudy isn't a fan of the crate, but he does well left loose in the house for short periods. He rides wonderfully in the car and is usually asleep within minutes—especially if he can curl up on someone's lap while enjoying a few belly rubs. At bedtime, he's perfectly happy sleeping in his own dog bed or snuggled up with his humans. Rudy is simply a sweet, affectionate, fun-loving young Beagle with so much love to give. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will make you laugh, keep you active, and always be ready for a cuddle at the end of the day, Rudy may just be the perfect addition to your family. MOOSE 1 – 2 years GYPSY 1 – 2 years Attributes: Bonded pair Dog friendly Shy Medium energy Housetrained Snuggly Requires fence Playful Meet Gypsy & Moose, a sweet, inseparable duo who have grown up side-by-side and are ready to find a loving home together. At just 1.5 years old, Gypsy (19 lbs) and Moose (22 lbs) are young, playful, and full of heart. Their previous family adored them deeply, but due to hard times, they were lovingly surrendered to Midwest BREW so they could have the future they deserve. Gypsy is the more outgoing of the pair—curious, affectionate, and quick to offer trust once she feels safe. Moose is a gentle soul with longer hair and a beagle-plus-cocker look. He’s more reserved at first, but once he warms up, he becomes a devoted snuggler who melts into your lap. Both pups were not well socialized early in life, so they’re shy when meeting new people. They do get nervous in new situations. They’ll need a couple of weeks to settle in. Gypsy and Moose are fun, lively dogs who enjoy toys, chasing a ball, and wrestling with each other. Watching them play is guaranteed to bring joy and laughter to their home. They will need a secured fenced yard as they LOVE doing zoomies together 3–4 times a day. It’s their favorite shared ritual. They are fully house trained and know how to use a dog door. They enjoy daily walks and are improving on leash manners. They sleep in bed with their foster parents and adore bedtime snuggles. This pair will thrive with adopters who can offer patience, consistency, and a secure environment. Once they feel safe, Gypsy and Moose become affectionate, playful companions who bring double the love and double the fun. NOTE: Dogs may be located in any of our six volunteer states (WI, IL, IN, OH, PA, MI).

Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Hi, I’m Tanbo… but my friends call me Snoop! I was adopted as a puppy and sadly found my way back to the rescue due to family circumstances. While that wasn’t the plan, I’m hoping my forever family is still out there waiting for me! I’m a very curious and inquisitive guy—I love to sniff around and investigate everything going on in my world. When I first came back to the rescue, stuffed toys were actually banned for me because I used to immediately shred them. The good news? I’ve improved! I can have them again now… although I’ll admit I still enjoy chewing on them and occasionally pulling some stuffing out. Old habits die hard. When it comes to playmates, I really enjoy dogs that are smaller than me—they’re my kind of crowd! Bigger dogs, though? I’d rather keep my distance. I also tend to chase cats, so a cat-free home would probably be best. I would also do best in a home without younger children, as I prefer a calmer environment where I can relax and feel comfortable. One of my favorite things in the world is treats and cuddling with my humans. If you have a blanket, just know it automatically becomes our blanket. In fact, if you see a lump under a blanket on the couch, you might want to check before sitting down… it could be me! Because I only have 21 teeth left, crunchy treats are a little tough for me to chew. Softer chews are my favorite! And since I’m missing a few teeth, my tongue hangs out about 95% of the time, which just adds to my charm. As a senior gentleman, I do have a couple medical conditions. I have Cushing’s disease and low B12, which means I’ll need medication for the rest of my life. I also take a little medicine for separation anxiety when my humans leave, but if you’re just gone for a few hours, I’ll handle it like a champ. What I’m really looking for is a cozy home, some soft treats, a warm blanket, and humans who love to cuddle as much as I do. If that sounds like you, I think we might be a perfect match.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. If you're looking for a loyal companion with a heart of gold, Chester may be your perfect match. This sweet 12-year-old, 27-pound beagle mix is happiest when he's soaking up tummy rubs, ear scratches, and cuddles. While he may be a senior, don't tell him that! He loves a good nap, but he's always ready for a walk, some backyard exploring, or a little playtime. Chester is a gentle soul who can be a bit timid in busy or noisy environments, so he'd thrive in a calm, relaxed home where he can settle in at his own pace. He enjoys the company of other dogs but would also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only, as long as he gets plenty of love and attention. He's working hard on his house manners and is making great progress. Like any dog learning the ropes in a new environment, he'll need a family that's patient, consistent, and willing to laugh along the way.  All concerns will disappear though, as soon as he rests his big head on you, showing his love and thankfulness.  Chester has so much love to give and is looking for someone to share his golden years with. Every home could use a Chester—a sweet, gentle friend who will love you with his whole heart.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption. Visit our FAQ webpage for commonly asked questions about our adoption/foster process. Meet Juneau, a curious beagle puppy born June 20th. From the moment he entered the world, Juneau’s story has been one of determination and devotion—he’s been bottle fed since he was just 2 days old, and you can still feel that early-care love in everything he does now. Juneau is a true inquisitive explorer. If there’s a sound, a smell, or a mysterious corner of the house, he’s already investigating— nose to the ground, working out the clues like it’s his full-time job. His favorite pastime? Taking toys on adventures: he proudly carries them around like trophies, then announces his presence with a classic beagle baying when he thinks you should be paying attention. Best of all, Juneau loves all toys—new ones, squeaky ones, and the ones you thought were going to be “just for a little while.” He doesn’t just play; he investigates, tests, and then celebrates every win with that beagle confidence that’s impossible not to love. Juneau may be young, but he’s already got the heart of a champion: curious, toy-obsessed, and always ready to follow the scent trail to whatever fun is next.  Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.Last Day Dog Rescue now microchips all animals before adoption.
