Story
🐾❤️ Meet Tito – A Loyal Dog Looking for the Right Person ❤️🐾 Tito is an approximately 8-year-old small mixed breed who is looking for a very special and understanding home. Tito is the type of dog who bonds very deeply with his person. Once he trusts you, he becomes incredibly loyal and loves being close to you, especially curling up on a lap and relaxing near the person he feels safe with. 💕 Even though Tito is a little older, he still has a very playful side! He enjoys playing, being silly, and spending time with the people he trusts. His playful personality really comes out once he feels comfortable in his environment. Tito does wonderful with his foster mom and foster dad, but he struggles with strangers and new people. When meeting someone new, Tito may bark, growl, and act defensive. If someone pushes his boundaries or approaches him before he feels comfortable, he may snap. Because of this, it is extremely important that Tito’s future adopter understands he will need time, patience, and slow introductions in order to build trust. For Tito to be successful, he will need a quiet home with very little company. When visitors come over, he should be put in another room or behind a gate where he feels safe. He already does very well with this routine in his foster home when their granddaughter visits. Tito would do best in an only-dog home. While he sometimes tolerates other dogs, he can become protective of his person—especially if he is sitting on their lap—and may go after another dog that gets too close. He has not been tested with cats, but we would likely recommend a no-cat home as well. Tito is mostly potty trained and only had a few accidents when he first arrived at his foster home while adjusting. He is also: ✔️ Up to date on vaccinations ✔️ Neutered ✔️ Microchipped Tito isn’t the right fit for every home, but the right person will gain a deeply loyal and playful companion. He needs someone patient, understanding, and willing to give him the time he needs to feel safe and secure. If you think you could be the calm, patient home Tito needs, we would love to talk with you about meeting him. 🏡🐾
