Story
This is Ash. Ash is a 1 year old Silver Lab/Leopard hound mix. We got Ash from a farm family a couple hours away, when he was 8 weeks old. He was the runt. Ash will absolutely need a very experienced owner. Here is why. As Ash has gotten older we have figured out he has food aggression/reactivity. We are wanting to move and buy a house, unfortunately Ash is no longer fit for us. We feel that he would be best suited with someone who is experienced in this and/or a trainer is ideal. We love Ash dearly, which is why we are trying rehoming to the right people instead of euthanasia. Ash can be sweet, he loves meeting new people, he is very active and playful. He loves having your attention and going outside to play. Some new dogs he can get along with and others not... it depends on the dog. He has been around some cats, and not any babies, but 7 and up he seems okay with. If you or anyone you know is interested please contact me, we can talk more detail on him if interested. Thank you!

Story
Meet Gus and Jack! These two are brothers/littermates/twins, and they are very bonded. These two have been together their entire five years on earth so I’d really like to keep it that way if at all possible for their mental health! They are 5 yr old coonhound/boxer mixes originally adopted from a cat shelter in southern Kentucky about 4 years ago. I am a newly single mom of multiple and getting out of an unhealthy situation. I wish I could keep these good boys but unfortunately I’ve ended up in a place where I’m not permitted to have them, and to be honest I am struggling to make ends meet so I have to do what’s right for them. I want these boys to go to a good, stable home, preferably with a yard. I’m on the east side of the Cincinnati area and can meet up with you to meet them anywhere in the Cincinnati area! Feel free to text anytime at 513-375-6474.

Story
Roman was my mothers dog, along with his brother Sluggo. She recently passed away and we do not have the time to care for them. Roman is 11 years old. He is an amazing lap dog. His favorite spot is laying right next to you on the couch while you watch TV. We have been taking him to doggy day care almost every weekday for the last two months and he enjoys playing with the other dogs, big and small. He loves going outside and if you grab the leash he will be on your heels walking to the door. In the house with him is a cat and another much larger dog ( great dane) and they all get along perfectly. There hasn't been any sort of issue with the cat or dog, he just minds his own business. Whoever the new owner is, it is important that both Roman and Sluggo are kept together. They have been together for 8 years and they have gone through the loss of their mom and dad in the last two years.

Story
Sluggo was my mothers dog. She recently passed away. His brother is Roman, also listed on Rehome. Sluggo is very charismatic and loves his spot on the back of the couch to observe the whole house. He is playful and loves affection. He is 8 years old and I think his attitude and energy is spot on with 8 years old. Still playful but loves sleeping. In the house with him is a Great Dane and a young male cat. There have never been any issues between any of them and often times Sluggo will lay on the back of the couch with the cat. Sluggo is very submissive, if you reach out to pet him he will show you his belly. He has done that with everyone that comes to the house. He loves being outside when it's warm. In these cold months he tends to shiver because he is so small. The next owner must be able to take both Sluggo and his brother Roman together. Sluggo has been with Roman since he was brought home and they have both lost their parents, mom and dad, in the last three years.

Story
Meet Trenton! This good boy is the whole package! He is a mixed breed, best guess English pointer/boxer mix, and no one breed is evident. He is 2-year-old medium sized (55 pound) love bug who is gentle and adores kids. He is house trained. It does not appear he has been taught basic commands, but he should be a quick learner as he learned the doggy door ropes in a single day. The crate is not his favorite. He will go in when bribed with delicious treats and sleep quietly through the night. He mimics the vibe of the house by playing when we are active and snuggling on couch when we are quiet. He also gets along with other dogs, playing or backing off at the appropriate times. As he has settled into his foster home, he has started wrestling with the alpha dog of the house. Trenton deserves someone who will shower him with attention, car rides and rounds of fetch. He is everyone’s best friend, can he be yours? Trenton is neutered and up to date on all vaccines, flea and heartworm medication.

Story
Space is a 9 month old medium size dog. She loves other dogs and has done well with cats. Space needs a special adopter that will give her time to realize people aren’t so scary. She has made a TON of progress at her foster home but is still very timid at times. She gets SO excited to see you after work but still only wants to be pet on her own terms. She will do best in a home with no children, another dog to help build her confidence, and her own yard, as she is not leash trained. She is very fearful of the leash, leading us to believe she may have had a traumatic experience involving a leash before coming to HART. This dog absolutely loves to be comfy. All she wants is a comfortable bed or to curl up by your feet on the couch. If you’re looking for a playmate for your dog that does not beg for constant attention or a friend to keep your dog busy while you’re at work, Space could be a great choice for you. If interested in meeting Space please fill out an application at www.rescueahart.org!
