Story
Meet Matilda Woodworm — proof that resilience and love can completely transform a life. At just 9 months old and around 35–40 lbs, this mixed breed sweetheart has already overcome more than most dogs ever should. Matilda came into rescue nearly hairless from neglect and mange, but with proper treatment, good nutrition, and lots of love, she’s blossomed into a beautiful girl with a soft, full coat and an even more beautiful spirit. Despite her rough beginning, Matilda absolutely adores people. She’s incredibly sweet, affectionate, and happiest when she’s near her humans — whether that means following you from room to room, curling up for snuggles, or simply keeping you company. She has a joyful, gentle personality that makes everyone fall in love with her. Matilda is also a social butterfly with other dogs. Fostered with both another puppy and a 100 lb dog, she happily plays with dogs of all sizes, ages, and genders. If another furry friend is ready to wrestle or romp, Matilda is all in! After playtime, she’s perfectly content to settle down with a favorite bone to chew. She is crate trained, highly food motivated, and eager to learn, which makes training fun and rewarding. She’s currently working hard on mastering potty training and continues to make progress every day. Matilda is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Jacques! At just 3.5 months old and already tipping the scales at 20 pounds, Jacques is a handsome black-and-white Border Collie mix with a thoughtful soul and a bright future ahead of him. Jacques is the kind of puppy who likes to take it all in first. He’s observant, intelligent, and always paying attention to what’s happening around him. While some puppies rush headfirst into every situation, Jacques prefers to assess the scene before joining the fun—which is classic Border Collie behavior! His gentle, sweet temperament makes him a joy to be around, and he has done wonderfully with both people and adult dogs. As he grows, Jacques will thrive in a home that enjoys teaching and engaging a smart pup. Whether it's learning tricks, exploring new places, or simply being your loyal sidekick, this boy is ready to soak it all up. Jacques is still a baby and isn't fully potty trained yet, but he's already doing a great job consistently using pee pads and learning his puppy manners. If you're looking for a sweet, intelligent best friend who will grow into a devoted companion, Jacques may be your perfect match. Jacques is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $400.00. Story
Meet Emeril! If comfort food came in puppy form, it would be Emeril. This 3.5-month-old Basset Hound/Beagle mix weighs about 25 pounds and is equal parts cuddle bug and playmate. With his soulful eyes, floppy ears, and easygoing personality, Emeril has already mastered the art of winning hearts. Emeril can be a little more reserved when meeting new people or exploring new situations, but once he knows he's safe, his affectionate side shines through. He loves cuddling up with his humans, enjoys a good toy collection, and is always happy to join in some puppy playtime. His mix of Basset Hound and Beagle means he'll likely grow into a loyal family companion with a curious nose and a gentle disposition. Whether he's investigating the backyard or snuggling for cuddles after a busy day, Emeril is happiest when he's with people. Like any young puppy, Emeril is still learning the ropes. He isn't fully potty trained yet but is making great progress with pee pads and developing good habits every day. Looking for a puppy who's equal parts sweet, snuggly, and playful? Emeril is ready to bring a little extra flavor to your family. Emeril is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $400.00. Story
Meet Cyrus, Cyrus is an adorable 2-month-old, 11lb male mixed breed puppy who is as affectionate as he is cute. Cyrus, along with his two sisters, Jasmine and Blossom came into foster care at six weeks old with their mom, Lalita. Cyrus has a very pleasant personality. He is the only boy of the litter, and is quite the sweetheart. He likes to wrestle with his sisters and explore the yard. Of the three, he may enjoy cuddling with his foster mom the most. Cyrus is mostly tan with a white on his chest, four paws and tail. He has the thinnest faint line of white down the middle of his nose that just adds to his cuteness. He is likely to be a medium sized dog when fully grown. Cyrus is very calm for a puppy. He has some puppy energy now, but probably will probably be medium energy when an adult. Cyrus uses puppy pads reliably in the pen, and is ready for potty and leash training. Cyrus has appointed himself the spokesman of the litter. And even with being the spokesman, he doesn’t have much to say unless he’s not getting the attention he thinks he deserves; and that is still only whimpering. Cyrus is an all-around great puppy. He is playful, affectionate, quietish and sweet. As with all puppies, he will need to be taught boundaries and be given the opportunity for regular exercise. If you believe that you have the right home to give Cyrus the love and commitment he deserves, please apply today. He would make a wonderful addition to most families. Cyrus is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $400.00.
