Story
Meet Lucille! This 4 year old, 40 pound lady was found as a very pregnant stray when a kind person saved her and took her to a shelter to get her some help. From there, she came to rescue, had and successfully raised her eight adorable babies and now she's ready for a happy-ever-after of her own! This sweet girl has been a JOY to have around. She is fostered with other dogs, cats and young kids and has been wonderful with all. She does very well in her crate and has had very few bathroom accidents. She loves to lay outside in the yard and go on walks around the neighborhood. It doesn't get much better than Lucille! If you are interested in making her a part of your family - apply today! Her adoption fee is $275 To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Cookie. Cookie is one of those dogs who quietly steals your heart with her gentle presence. She is a 1.5-year-old wire-haired terrier mix, about 30 pounds, and a perfect small-to-medium-sized dog. Cookie was found as a stray by one of our shelter partners and brought into rescue, where she quickly became a favorite among the volunteers. They often took her out of her kennel to enjoy walks around the shelter grounds. Cookie is a sweet, gentle girl who is still building her confidence. She is learning to walk on a leash and is doing well overall, though she can get a little nervous at thresholds such as going in and out of doorways. With gentle encouragement (and maybe a hot dog or two — she’s a fan!), she continues to make steady progress. She may be a bit shy when first meeting new people or experiencing new situations, but after a couple of days she settles in and becomes much more comfortable. She does amazing with other dogs and is currently fostered with four dogs of various sizes. Cookie loves spending time with her furry friends and fits in seamlessly, but she does not necessarily need another dog in the home to be happy. She’s perfectly content stretching out on the couch, often choosing to lounge right next to the other dogs and enjoy a calm, quiet moment. Cookie is also working on her potty training, which is a work in progress as is common with rescue dogs. With a consistent routine and continued guidance, she will continue to improve. Cookie is a low-key, easygoing girl with a very go-with-the-flow personality. She doesn’t demand constant attention and is happiest simply being near her people. Once she warms up, she shows just how loving and loyal she can be and would make a wonderful companion for someone looking for a gentle, steady presence in their home. Cookie is fostered in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. Story
Meet Cindy Lou Who! Cindy is a petite miniature pinscher mix who weighs 27 pounds and is two years old. She loves pets and attention from her humans. Cindy came to us from the shelter, so her beginnings are unknown. She is as sweet as can be and loves everyone she meets. She likes to play like a big dog, even though she is smaller in stature. Cindy’s favorite things to do are curling up in a snuggly bed and getting belly rubs from her human. She also enjoys running in the backyard and has a medium energy level. Cindy is still working on her house training but is crate trained. She is good with dogs and cats and is fostered with both. Cindy would love a home that will continue her training. If she sounds like the perfect pup for you, apply today! Cindy Lou Who is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. Story
Say HELLO to Apollo! This big man is a 8-year-old, 96lb sweetheart. Although his life didn't start out the best, he is determined to find his furever family. He is crate trained and house trained. He's a minimal barker but will whine when he wants to go outside. Apollo, like Herman Munster is a love bug that doesn't realize his own size or strength. He would do best in a home with older children and without small animals. Apollo knows how to sit but hasn't quite gotten the hang of holding the command for long. He also struggles with keeping all four paws on the floor, but hopes you'll overlook it as he's so darn cute! He loves to be with people and hasn't met a stranger. The big lug will try to sit in your lap! He would love a low key forever home. Apply to adopt this hunk today! His adoption fee is $275.00. To adopt this pet, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. Story
Meet Uncle Fester! This handsome 4-year-old Australian Shepherd mix has quite the story to tell. Originally adopted as a puppy from Louie’s Legacy, Uncle Fester recently found himself abandoned in the woods. Thankfully, a local shelter recognized him and contacted us right away—and we wasted no time bringing him back into rescue where he belongs. Despite all he’s been through, Uncle Fester’s heart is still full of love. He absolutely adores men—he completely melted for the dog warden who helped him—and he does well with women, too. He may be a little shy at first, which is understandable after the whirlwind of his past week, but once he warms up, he’s affectionate and loves all the pets and attention you’ll give him. Uncle Fester walks decently on a leash (though he can pull a bit when he’s excited) and enjoys car rides, where he sits back and watches the world go by. He’s also good with other dogs and was even found with a canine companion. We’re still getting to know this sweet boy, but one thing’s already clear—Uncle Fester is a gentle soul ready for his fresh start and a family who will never let him down again. Uncle Fester is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $275.00.
