Story
Meet Lucille! This 4 year old, 40 pound lady was found as a very pregnant stray when a kind person saved her and took her to a shelter to get her some help. From there, she came to rescue, had and successfully raised her eight adorable babies and now she's ready for a happy-ever-after of her own! This sweet girl has been a JOY to have around. She is fostered with other dogs, cats and young kids and has been wonderful with all. She does very well in her crate and has had very few bathroom accidents. She loves to lay outside in the yard and go on walks around the neighborhood. It doesn't get much better than Lucille! If you are interested in making her a part of your family - apply today! Her adoption fee is $275 To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Cookie. Cookie is a 1.5-year-old wire-haired terrier mix, about 30 pounds, who is truly coming into her own as she settles into foster care. While she is still very sweet and affectionate, her growing confidence has revealed a fun, active side that makes her a joy to have around. Cookie is an energetic little girl who loves to play and is beginning to actively engage with all the dogs around her. She enjoys being part of the pack and loves spending time with her canine friends. As her excitement grows, she can be a bit jumpy at times, and she is currently working on learning an “off” command. She’s eager to learn and responds well to consistency and gentle guidance. She does great on leash walks and is doing well with her potty training, especially going number one while on leash, which is a big step forward. She will continue to improve with a consistent routine and regular opportunities outside, making her a good fit for apartment living or homes without a fenced yard. Cookie does wonderful with other dogs of all sizes and truly enjoys their company, though she could also thrive as an only dog in a home that provides regular activity, playtime, and engagement. After a good play session, she’s happy to relax and be near her people. Cookie tested positive for Lyme disease, which is a non-contagious, tick-borne illness. She is currently being treated with antibiotics. If Cookie finds her forever home before completing her medication, the remaining medication will be sent along with her. Many dogs who test positive for Lyme go on to live happy, normal lives with no long-term effects. With her blend of sweetness, playfulness, and growing confidence, Cookie would do best in a home ready to embrace an active, social girl who is excited to keep learning and enjoying life. Cookie is fostered in the Cincinnati, Ohio area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. Meet Cindy Lou Who! Cindy is a petite miniature pinscher mix who weighs 27 pounds and is two years old. She loves pets and attention from her humans. Cindy came to us from the shelter, so her beginnings are unknown. She is as sweet as can be and loves everyone she meets. She likes to play like a big dog, even though she is smaller in stature. Cindy’s favorite things to do are curling up in a snuggly bed and getting belly rubs from her human. She also enjoys running in the backyard and has a medium energy level. Cindy is still working on her house training but is crate trained. She is good with dogs and cats and is fostered with both. Cindy would love a home that will continue her training. If she sounds like the perfect pup for you, apply today! Cindy Lou Who is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $275.00. Story
Say HELLO to Apollo! This big man is a 8-year-old, 96lb sweetheart. Although his life didn't start out the best, he is determined to find his furever family. He is crate trained and house trained. He's a minimal barker but will whine when he wants to go outside. Apollo, like Herman Munster is a love bug that doesn't realize his own size or strength. He would do best in a home with older children and without small animals. Apollo knows how to sit but hasn't quite gotten the hang of holding the command for long. He also struggles with keeping all four paws on the floor, but hopes you'll overlook it as he's so darn cute! He loves to be with people and hasn't met a stranger. The big lug will try to sit in your lap! He would love a low key forever home. Apply to adopt this hunk today! His adoption fee is $275.00. To adopt this pet, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. Story
Meet Uncle Fester! This handsome 4-year-old Australian Shepherd mix has quite the story to tell. Originally adopted as a puppy from Louie’s Legacy, Uncle Fester recently found himself abandoned in the woods. Thankfully, a local shelter recognized him and contacted us right away—and we wasted no time bringing him back into rescue where he belongs. Despite all he’s been through, Uncle Fester’s heart is still full of love. He absolutely adores men—he completely melted for the dog warden who helped him—and he does well with women, too. He may be a little shy at first, which is understandable after the whirlwind of his past week, but once he warms up, he’s affectionate and loves all the pets and attention you’ll give him. Uncle Fester walks decently on a leash (though he can pull a bit when he’s excited) and enjoys car rides, where he sits back and watches the world go by. He’s also good with other dogs and was even found with a canine companion. We’re still getting to know this sweet boy, but one thing’s already clear—Uncle Fester is a gentle soul ready for his fresh start and a family who will never let him down again. Uncle Fester is fostered in the Cincinnati area. His adoption fee is $275.00. Story
Meet Tyson, a 9 year old, 40-lb brindle sweetheart with a heart of gold. Tyson came to rescue after finding himself at a crowded shelter, where he waited far too long for someone to notice him. When he arrived into rescue, his foster family discovered a severe hip injury, and the kindest option was to amputate his hind leg. Tyson handled surgery like a champ and is now a happy, comfortable tripod who gets around beautifully! Tyson is a low-energy, cuddle-first kind of dog who loves nothing more than a soft couch and your company. He has occasional bursts of playfulness and zoomies that will make you smile, then settles right back into nap mode. He gets along well with other dogs and is sweet with kids (though his occasional excitement can startle little ones). He is potty trained with a routine, doesn’t need a crate, and is perfectly content to snooze the day away when you’re out. This sweet pup has been through so much and all he wants is a forever family to call his own. If you’re looking for a gentle, grateful companion who just wants love and a comfy place to relax, Tyson is your boy. Apply to make Tyson your new best buddy today—he deserves the best! Tyson is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Thanks to a very generous donor, Tyson’s adoption fee is $100!
