Story
Meet Avi! He is the true meaning of rescue. Avi used to live with an abusive owner, until we changed his path! He has come so far, and has been clicker trained, but is still healing and will need a patient adopter who is willing to continue his training. He is about 9 years old and weighs around 55 lbs. He loves everyone he meets, but is not good with children or cats, and doesn't understand why they move so fast. He is slow to trust, but very playful and affectionate once he knows he is safe. Avi will jump a fence that is smaller than 6 ft tall, and will need long daily walks. He currently lives with and loves his boxer bulldog mix foster brother, but knows he is the pretty one! A home with another playful husky or other dog similar in size would be ideal! HUSKY EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. CANNOT BE PLACED WITH CHILDREN OR CATS. If you want to be a part of Avi's recovery and future, and are willing to invest in long term training, apply for him today! His adoption fee is $25. https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/LOUC/Dog All of our animals come spayed or neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, including rabies (if age appropriate) and Bordetella, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Petey! Petey is a 8-year-old, 56lb Pitt Bull mix who loves lounging at home with his people. A perfect day for Petey would include exploring his yard, a brief 5-minute play session, followed by napping the rest of the day away! He is a low-key guy that takes time to warm up to new people. Once he realizes you're his friend he likes to stay close. Petey is house trained and crate trained, though he would prefer to free roam. Although he is a low energy dog, he does not enjoy other dogs, cats or children and will need an adult-only, calm, quiet home. Petey is searching for a family who will help give him the confidence and time he needs to be his best self! If you are interested in a loyal, couch-loving buddy, Petey may be the one for you! His adoption fee is sponsored. Story
Meet Pongo! Pongo is a 2 year old, 33 pound, sweet as can be pup! While his parents are unknown, Pongo resembles a Boston Terrier on stilts and he has the most hilarious ears that stand up and then flop over to the side. They are too cute! Pongo is a higher energy guy that loves to play! While he does well with his furry foster siblings, he does tend to participate in high energy play, which might be off putting to some dogs. He would do very well in a home with another dog that likes to play and isn't intimidated by Pongo being in their face. Pongo is very sweet to all humans, including his four and nine year old human foster siblings. Pongo is well behaved in his crate and is working hard to perfect potty training. His foster family is convinced that he will perfect the potty training with a good schedule! This young guy is looking for his perfect forever family, filled with love, play and lots of walks! If that sounds like you - apply today! Pongo's adoption fee is $275. Story
Say HELLO to Apollo! This big man is a 6.5-year-old, 66lb sweetheart. Although his life didn't start out the best, he is determined to find his furever family. He is crate trained and house trained. He's a minimal barker but will whine when he wants to go outside. Apollo, like Herman Munster is a love bug that doesn't realize his own size or strength. He would do best in a home with older children and without small animals. Apollo knows how to sit but hasn't quite gotten the hang of holding the command for long. He also struggles with keeping all four paws on the floor, but hopes you'll overlook it as he's so darn cute! He loves to be with people and hasn't met a stranger. The big lug will try to sit in your lap! He would love a low key forever home. Apply to adopt this hunk today! His adoption fee is $275.00. Story
Meet Marshall! Marshall is a spunky little 4.5-year-old Mixed Breed who weighs about 30lbs. A perfect day for him includes a nice walk. He also enjoys playing outside, treat puzzles, his Kong toy, and a good game of tug. He always appreciates it when his foster mom opens the front door so he can look and sniff what is going on outside from safely behind the storm door. He considers himself part of the neighborhood watch! Marshall is hesitant to get in his crate when you leave but he settles very quickly and is well behaved while you are away. The door to the crate is open while his foster family is home and he goes in there on his own when he is ready to lay down at night. He has not had any accidents in his foster home. Marshall does prefer slow introductions to new people and other dogs. Loud, fast-moving things such as motorcycles and bikes can startle him. He would do best in an adult only home willing to work with him on building confidence in new situations. Complete an adoption application for Marshall today! His adoption fee is sponsored! Story
Meet Marley, the ultimate chilled-out, easy-going dog who's ready to bring some peace and love into your life. This 3-year-old mixed breed boy is a big ol' bundle of love and fun, who gets along with everyone he meets. He's the best of friends with humans, and loves nothing more than snuggling up for some quality lap time. At 65 pounds, Marley is a big boy, but most of that weight is in his head - which just happens to bobble adorably when he's excited. But don't let the goofy exterior fool you - Marley is one smart cookie. He's already learned some basic commands, and he's a quick learner when it comes to picking up new routines. He's also crate-trained and has excellent house manners, making him a perfect fit for any home. Marley is a medium-energy dog who loves to play, but he's also happy to relax and soak up some affection. He's adjusting well to his foster home, but would love a forever family who can give him plenty of love, patience, and guidance as he continues to learn the ropes of living in a house. Marley's perfect home would be one in which he is the only pet. With Marley by your side, you'll have a loyal companion who will bring you endless joy and happiness. So if you're ready to feel the love and get jammin' with your new best friend, then Marley is the dog for you! Marley's adoption fee is $275.
