Story
Lucas would like to make a few things clear right up front: he enjoys long walks where he can read all the neighborhood “pee-mail,” he takes fetch very seriously, and if you have a couch… he would very much like to discuss shared custody. This playful, affectionate guy has a great balance of fun and relaxation. He enjoys walks, toys, and a good game of fetch, but once he’s had some activity he’s perfectly happy relaxing nearby and keeping his people company. Lucas especially loves a comfy couch and will politely wait for an invitation before hopping up. he also knows some commands sit, stay, and heel.He walks fairly well on leash and is still polishing his “gentleman on a stroll” skills. Lucas can get a little excited when he sees other dogs on walks, but he responds well to redirection and guidance.Lucas is friendly, loving, and generous with kisses. He may give a quick alert bark when someone new arrives, but he warms up quickly and enjoys meeting people. He appears to be house trained, rides well in the car once settled, and loves having toys to carry around. If you’re looking for a playful companion who enjoys adventures but also knows how to relax and be your couch-side sidekick, Lucas might be your guy.

Story
Meet Timber! Timber is a high-energy, happy pup who’s always ready for fun! Timber is incredibly curious and alert at all times- always with her nose to the ground and investigating new smells. She loves to explore outside, going on long walks or having long play sessions in fenced-in areas. Timber knows basic commands like `sit`, `down`, and `wait`, and she is a smart girl who’s VERY treat-motivated and eager to keep learning. Timber absolutely loves attention and thrives when she’s spending time with her people.Timber can be a bit picky with her dog friends- she has had fun with other dogs in our playgroups at the shelter, but has also had other times where she didn`t have as much fun with certain dogs. Timber may prefer to have the house to herself so she can soak up all the love. With that being said, if you do have dogs at home and would like to give it a try, we would do a meet-and-greet at the shelter to see if your dogs can pass Timber`s vibe check. If you’re looking for an energetic, affectionate companion who’s ready for adventures and cuddles alike, Timber might be the perfect match for you!

Story
Meet Tabasco! This handsome boy is still new to our shelter, and we`re getting to know more about him every day. So far, we`ve learned that Tabasco loves playing fetch, squeaky toys, laying on a couch and enjoys getting plenty of pets and attention from his people.Tabasco came to us from a farm and has participated in our dog playgroups, where he did pretty well with other dogs. He did great with kids and cats, and seemed to be potty trained in a short term foster home. Car rides with them went good too!Like many dogs adjusting to a new home, Tabasco will benefit from consistent training, daily enrichment, and a refresher on housebreaking to help him thrive. With patience, structure, and lots of love, Tabasco has the potential to be a wonderful companion. If you`re looking for an active, affectionate dog who enjoys playtime and spending time with his people, stop by SPCA Cincinnati to meet Tabasco! He may be the perfect addition to your family.

Story
Hi there, my name is Berry! I am a happy, sweet boy looking to bust out of the shelter and find my happily ever after. I didn`t have the best start to life- I was rescued from a bad situation down south and spent some time at another shelter before taking a road trip up to Cincinnati, where I am now at the SPCA. I don`t let the past get me down, though- I`m always looking forward to the future and seeing what each new day brings. My friends at the SPCA make sure my days are filled with long walks, play time, toys, and yummy treats! I do wish that I could have a home to call my own, though. A loving family and a warm, cozy bed would be an amazing upgrade!Despite what you may assume based on what I went through in my past life, I love making friends with other dogs! Here at the shelter, I get out in playgroup with other dogs frequently and have a blast! I`m an energetic, rowdy player who loves it when dogs match my speed, and we can play until we`re both too tired to continue! I`ve never met cats before, though. Are they as much fun as dogs? My shelter friends say they aren`t, but I`m not too sure. When I`m by myself, I absolutely LOVE toys- I find comfort in carrying my toys in my mouth, and I love to shred up stuffed toys or chew on hard toys for hours. I dream of my own toy box filled with as many toys as my heart desires. Can you pretty please come visit me at the shelter and take me home forever? It doesn`t even HAVE to be forever, if you`re worried about commitment- the shelter has an awesome foster program called a Paw Pass where you could take me on a short sleepover to get a break from here and have some fun (and if you happen to fall in love with me, it can turn into forever)! Come to SPCA Cincinnati and see for yourself if I`m the dog you`ve been waiting for!

Story
Rosie is back from foster and here’s the plot twist: she knows how to chill. While in foster care, Rosie showed a calm demeanor at home and settled in nicely once she had a routine.Out and about, she still has a fun, active side. Rosie enjoys walks, loves being outside, and is food motivated. She knows sit and wait and would enjoy continued training to keep her brain busy.Rosie does well with other dogs. She has a rough-and-rowdy play style and can be selective. In a multi-dog home, she will need to be fed separately. Cats are unknown. Kids should come along to meet her first.Best of both worlds: adventure when you want it, calm when it counts.Available at SPCA CincinnatiStop in any day, Monday through Sunday, 12:00 PM–6:00 PM.
