Story
Hello! My name is Keefe, and I’m pretty sure I am the coolest pup on the block! I know that my brindle color is gorgeous, and my size makes me very special! I am not a young dog, so you will find that while I am friendly and playful, I mostly have a gentle and calm disposition. We will have so much fun just hanging out – especially if you have treats for me! Do you like to go for walks? I love to walk and I am great on a leash – I walk at a very nice pace. I already know the sit command – so that tells you I am smart! My forever family can be just one person or many more – my good nature helps me to get along with people quite nicely. If you have kids and/or a dog at home, it is highly encouraged that you bring them along to the shelter to meet me, and see if it’ll be a good fit! Please come and spend some time with me and see if we can be a forever family!

Story
Meet Earl- This sweet guy is a village dog all the way from the island of St. Lucia! Fun fact: the village dogs in St. Lucia and the surrounding Caribbean islands are their own special breed called a Potcake! The name comes from a traditional dish of mixed peas and rice that, when cooked, develops a `cake` on the bottom of the pot that is commonly fed to the stray dogs. Because Potcakes are a form of village dog rather than a pedigree breed, they all tend to look a little different from one another, but have similar traits- some of which include a calm demeanor, resilience, intelligence, and fierce loyalty. At the SPCA Cincinnati, we have taken in many rescues from St. Lucia, and we`ve learned over time that they are very sweet dogs who bond hard with their trusted people.Due to his long trip to get here and history as a stray dog, we do not know much about Earl`s unique personality yet, but we are learning more as time goes on. If you have dogs at home or children, we highly recommend bringing them into the shelter for a meet and greet to make sure everyone will get along well before going home.Earl has come a long way, even braving the cold temperatures of Ohio, and is ready to settle down in a cozy home. If your home sounds like a perfect fit, come visit him at SPCA Cincinnati today!

Story
Meet Boss — also known around here as “Boss Man”!This handsome 3-year-old mixed breed pup recently came into our care after his previous owner was no longer able to look after him. Boss has been settling in well and has quickly become a staff favorite with his sweet demeanor and gentle presence. We’re still getting to know his preferences, including how he feels about other dogs or children. Because of this, we ask that everyone in the household comes along for a meet-and-greet to ensure he’s the perfect match.Boss Man is ready for a fresh start — could that be with you?
