Story
💙Help Petey find his furever home💙 This is Petey, my 6 year old foster, and he’s looking for the right person to call his. His family fell on hard times and asked me to help, but they cant come back for him. I work throughout the week and he’s left alone, he deserves more love and walks than I can give him. Petey is - loyal, loving, and people oriented - potty trained - great with other dogs (at first he needs to get used to them, but he’s become besties with mine in 3 weeks) - a superb bed sleeper, (if you don’t want your own space he’s not gonna give it to ya) -treat motivated and very outdoorsy ( he loves some walks) - obsessed with stuffies even though he’ll rip them up within .2 seconds - he’s okay on a leash, but he’s also okay when let out w/out…he may run to see a friend but he always makes his way back - my dude has a few rough edges (food aggression around other dogs but hes gotten so much better) but nothing that patience and love can’t change

**Please read the profile in its entirety. The adoption process and their basic needs are addressed in the profile. We are an all volunteer organization and are busy caring for our foster animals so we cannot respond to emails that ask questions already addressed ** Adoption Process: Step 1:    Complete a "no obligation" application located on our website at pawprintsnky.com under the applications tab. Step 2:    PawPrints will review the application, verifying Vet and personal references as well as landlord requirements/restrictions (if applicable) Step 3:    IF your application is approved, we will call you to schedule a meet and greet for you to meet the pet. &#226&#128&#139Step 4:   If the meet and greet goes well, we will schedule the home visit.   ** PLEASE DO NOT SUBMIT AN INQUIRY VIA THE ADOPTION SITE (PetFinder, AdoptAPet, etc.).  IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION NOT ADDRESSED IN THEIR PROFILE, PLEASE EMAIL pawprintsnky@gmail.  The adoption process and their basic needs are addressed in the profile.  We are an all volunteer organization and are busy caring for our foster animals so we cannot respond to emails that ask questions already addressed **   Gender: Male Age: Approx. 9 yrs. Weight: 60 lbs Breed: Labrador Retriever/Husky (best guess Neutered: Yes Vaccinated: Yes Microchipped: Yes Adoption Fee: $100.00 (plus tax) Foster Location: N Ky. Applicants must live within 2 hours of Florence, KY, no exceptions. Home Recommendation: Single Family. Fenced yard. He enjoys spending time in a fenced yard.  Not too long as he'll get bored and was an escape artist in his previous home (foster mom hasn't had this issue with him but he's not left outdoors for extended periods of time). Kids: He loves everyone, but he's going to barrel through your kids...and they're going to cry.  We don't want to be responsible for the tears. Crate Trained: Yes! All you need to do is throw a few pieces of kibble or a treat in his crate and he can't get in there fast enough. Cats: He's fine with cats and largely ignores them, but their food would have to be somewhere that he absolutely cannot access. Potty Trained: Yes! Dogs: He's great with other dogs...until it comes to food.  If there's a dropped treat or a crumb falls off of your plate while you're eating, he becomes obsessed.  For this reason, we feel he'd be best as the only dog. Leash Manners: You'll be hanging on for dear life.  No one told him he's a senior and he's as strong as an ox.  Probably best to stick to yard time, unless absolutely necessary to take him somewhere. He's a sweet senior who came to us when his owners decided his latest escape would be his last.  Pip ended up in the shelter a few too many times and they'd had enough of his escapades.  We're assuming he was left outdoors for long periods of time because he hasn't tried to escape once in his foster home.   Pip is a sweet, older (not so) gentleman who will do anything for food, and we mean anything.  He'll climb where you're sure there's no possible way he can climb, open cabinets, rip bags...you name it and he'll find a way.  Food needs to be stored away out of sight and locked securely away from his sensitive nose. He desperately needs a home to live out his senior years.  He's the nicest dog, will you give him a chance? His listing will be removed as soon as he has an approved application Please be honest! We have many people tell us what they think we want to read, not what's truthful. If there are discrepancies, your application will be denied. It's important for us to place dogs in a home that's suitable. You may be a stellar owner but possibly not a good fit for the dog you were first interested in adopting. We're not trying to offend anyone, we're trying to set everyone up for success. We're a best fit rescue and will verify your vet and personal references.      October 12, 2024, 12:11 pm

Story
Name:  Daisy Age: Spunky Senior Weight: 14 lbs Adoption Fee: $250.00 Good with Dogs?  Yes, but bossy so she’d be best as an only dog.  Good with cats?  She can be bossy with them so it’s best she doesn’t live with them. She can be around them safely for short visits.    Miss Daisy aka Daisy Dukes or Dukes, is  looking for her forever home.    She’s a spunky senior Rat Terrier with lots of life and  love left to give. Daisy loves people and she’d be a  perfect fit for someone who is retired but still active, or someone who works from home, enjoys daily walks  and would like to have a companion to join them. If  she gets to be a lap dog, even better. In a perfect  world, she’ll be showered with all of the attention and  not have to share it with other pets.    She is crate trained but, in all honesty, she doesn’t  love it. Daisy is fine being left loose in the home when  no one is there but she’s currently crated in her foster  home as she does tend to be a little bossy with the  other dogs at times.    Daisy likes meeting new people and enjoys car rides,  so if you like to go camping or travel around in an RV,  she’d be a great companion for you.    While she is an older girl, you wouldn’t know it by the  way she acts. She’s had a senior blood panel done  (she looks great!), a dental, she’s spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested  and micro chipped.    Don’t miss out on a wonderful new companion and get  your applications in now.    Adoption Process: Step 1:     Complete a "no obligation" application located on our website at pawprintsnky.com under the applications tab. November 14, 2024, 10:20 am

Story
I may only have 3 legs… but I promise I have 4x the love to give. My name is Hagrid, I’m 3 years old, and I recently had to have my front leg amputated because of an old injury that was never treated. It wasn’t my fault — but I’m not letting it define me. I’m healing, I’m strong, and I’m a sweet, incredibly happy boy! Please don’t look at me differently… or worse, not at all. I can still run, play, cuddle, and love just like any other dog. I can even do steps and jump up in cars!  I don’t feel sorry for myself — so you don’t have to either. I’m as sweet as they come and I absolutely love other dogs. I’m just looking for someone who sees past what I’m missing and notices everything I still have to offer — a loyal heart, a gentle soul, and a lifetime of devotion. All I need is a soft place to land and someone willing to give a “tripod” a chance. Could that someone be you? Crate trained: Yes House trained: Yes Breed: A Doodle, but without all of the grooming needs of most Doodles! Dogs: Loves other dogs Cats: He likes to chase and bark at them, so a home with no cats is preferred   Adoption Radius: Within 100 miles of Florence, KY Adoption Fee: $300.00    February 14, 2026, 7:32 pm
