Story
Meet Perdita, lovingly known as “Purdy.”Purdy is a gentle, loving soul with a heart as big as her story. She came to us through our shelter-to-shelter program along with her eight surviving puppies after an incredibly difficult start to life. After her owners passed away, Purdy was found living outside in the cold with ten newborn pups who were just four days old. Despite the heartbreaking circumstances, Purdy did everything she could to protect her babies until she was rescued by our partner, Robertson County Animal Shelter. Tragically, two of her puppies did not survive the harsh conditions—but Purdy never stopped being the devoted, resilient mama she is.With time, patience, and lots of TLC, Purdy has slowly blossomed. As she’s learned she’s finally safe, her true personality has emerged—and it’s nothing short of wonderful. She adores people, melts into affection, and happily accepts all the snuggles and snacks she can get. Purdy has previously done well with children ages 10 and up and would love a home where she can soak up the love she missed early on.During playgroups at the shelter, she does excellent with other dogs, and loves playing with them. However, when it comes to being at home, she prefers to be the only dog in the household so that she can be the center of attention! Please consult our staff if you have any questions regarding this. After everything she’s been through, Purdy may need a gentle refresher on house-training and will benefit from consistent training and enrichment to help her continue building confidence. We have learned while she has been here that she is great at playing fetch and will happily drop her toy in your hand for you to toss again. What she truly needs most, though, is a family of her own—one that will give her the safety, stability, and love she so deeply deserves.Purdy has already proven how strong and loving she is. Now she’s ready to be someone’s cherished companion.

Story
Hello! My name is OJ, and I sure am the coolest pup on the block! I am a young dog, so you will find that while I am friendly and playful, I mostly have a gentle and calm disposition. We will have so much fun just hanging out - especially if you have treats for me! Do you like to go for walks? I love to walk and I am great on a leash - I walk at a very nice pace. So that tells you I am smart! My forever family can be just one person or many more -I have been around kids, dogs and even ferrets. My good nature helps me to get along with people quite nicely. If you have kids and/or a dog at home, it is highly encouraged that you bring them along to the shelter to meet me and see if it`ll be a good fit! Please come and spend some time with me!

Story
Meet Luna! This sweet girl has a big head and a big heart that`s full of love- and she`s looking for her forever family to give all of that love to. Nicknamed `lovebug` by her previous family, Luna loves to get pets and cuddle. She makes friends with everyone she meets and has had previous experience with kids, cats, and other dogs! She loves to play fetch and chew on sticks. Luna has a lot of energy, and wants to spend that energy playing with her dog friends or her humans, ending the day in a snuggle session before bed. In her previous home, Luna was house-broken and crate-trained- her cue to go into her crate is `get in your bed.` She is smart but can be a bit stubborn, so she may need some ongoing training. She is very treat-motivated! She was loved dearly by her owners, but hard financial times and housing struggles forced them into a position where they had to let go of her to make sure Luna could be taken care of.If Luna sounds like the perfect bundle of joy to bring into your life, come visit her (and her cousin Baby Girl!) at SPCA Cincinnati today!

Story
This is the ever-loveable Bella! An energetic sweetheart who`s happy to find her people and spend lots of time with them. She`s always eager for food and treats, which is the fastest way to befriend her, as she needs all that energy to be the best dog to ever do it. Her hobbies include running around all day, going on walks, acting as a doorbell for the house, and giving hugs. She is very happy to meet kids of all ages, though she will need some training to avoid toppling smaller children over in her joy to greet them. Bella does excellent around other dogs and enjoys getting to meet new ones to run around and play with them. She`s very excited whenever she meets a cat, and do her best to politely wait and see if the cat would also like to be friends with her. This wonderful gal will do best in a home where people are home often and have the space to let her zoom around to her hearts content, as she doesn`t care much for toys as she does for running. If you believe you have the right home for Bella-Bella, come visit her today at SPCA Cincinnati!

Story
Lucas would like to make a few things clear right up front: he enjoys long walks where he can read all the neighborhood “pee-mail,” he takes fetch very seriously, and if you have a couch… he would very much like to discuss shared custody. This playful, affectionate guy has a great balance of fun and relaxation. He enjoys walks, toys, and a good game of fetch, but once he’s had some activity he’s perfectly happy relaxing nearby and keeping his people company. Lucas especially loves a comfy couch and will politely wait for an invitation before hopping up.He walks fairly well on leash and is still polishing his “gentleman on a stroll” skills. Lucas can get a little excited when he sees other dogs on walks, but he responds well to redirection and guidance.Lucas is friendly, loving, and generous with kisses. He may give a quick alert bark when someone new arrives, but he warms up quickly and enjoys meeting people. He appears to be house trained, rides well in the car once settled, and loves having toys to carry around. If you’re looking for a playful companion who enjoys adventures but also knows how to relax and be your couch-side sidekick, Lucas might be your guy.

Story
Meet Ferry!Ferry is a beautiful mixed-breed girl who is just about 2 years old and currently searching for her forever home. This sweet island girl traveled all the way from St. Lucia and is still getting used to her new surroundings. She has a gentle personality and can be a little shy at first, but with a little patience and kindness she begins to show her sweet nature. We are still learning about her and aren’t yet sure how she is with children. If you`re looking for a kind-hearted dog who just needs a loving home to help her blossom, Ferry could be the perfect match. Come meet this sweet island girl today and see if she’s the missing piece of your family.
