Hello! My name is Keefe, and I’m pretty sure I am the coolest pup on the block! I know that my brindle color is gorgeous, and my size makes me very special! I am not a young dog, so you will find that while I am friendly and playful, I mostly have a gentle and calm disposition. We will have so much fun just hanging out – especially if you have treats for me! Do you like to go for walks? I love to walk and I am great on a leash – I walk at a very nice pace. I already know the sit command – so that tells you I am smart! My forever family can be just one person or many more – my good nature helps me to get along with people quite nicely. If you have kids and/or a dog at home, it is highly encouraged that you bring them along to the shelter to meet me, and see if it’ll be a good fit! Sandy is a playful, high-energy young boy who came to us via our shelter-to-shelter transport program from the island of St. Lucia. He’s social and friendly with other dogs, though a little shy at first, and loves making canine friends.We don’t yet know how Sandy would do with cats or children, as he hasn’t been exposed to them before. Like many young pups, he will need consistent, ongoing training and enrichment to help him thrive in his new home. Sandy will also need a refresher in housebreaking due to his time in the shelter.With patience, structure, and plenty of positive experiences, Sandy is ready to grow into a loving, loyal companion. Meet Perdita, lovingly known as “Purdy.”Purdy is a gentle, loving soul with a heart as big as her story. She came to us through our shelter-to-shelter program along with her eight surviving puppies after an incredibly difficult start to life. After her owners passed away, Purdy was found living outside in the cold with ten newborn pups who were just four days old. Despite the heartbreaking circumstances, Purdy did everything she could to protect her babies until she was rescued by our partner, Robertson County Animal Shelter. Tragically, two of her puppies did not survive the harsh conditions—but Purdy never stopped being the devoted, resilient mama she is.With time, patience, and lots of TLC, Purdy has slowly blossomed. As she’s learned she’s finally safe, her true personality has emerged—and it’s nothing short of wonderful. She adores people, melts into affection, and happily accepts all the snuggles and snacks she can get. Purdy has previously done well with children ages 10 and up and would love a home where she can soak up the love she missed early on.During playgroups, she does excellent with other dogs, and loves playing with them. When it comes to living with other dogs, she hasn`t done well sharing space with others, and will do best being the only dog at home! Please consult our staff if you have any questions regarding this.After everything she’s been through, Purdy may need a gentle refresher on house-training and will benefit from consistent training and enrichment to help her continue building confidence. We have learned while she has been here that she is great at playing fetch and will happily drop her toy in your hand for you to toss again. What she truly needs most, though, is a family of her own—one that will give her the safety, stability, and love she so deeply deserves.Purdy has already proven how strong and loving she is. Now she’s ready to be someone’s cherished companion.
