Story
Sweet, sweet Jake needs a new home. Please help us find one. Jake is a fantastic dog. He came to us by way of Covid when a young couple couldnt afford to keep him. Since then, he has been a wonderful companion for our older brother. Unfortunately, our brother is having some health issues and can't take care of Jake any longer. Jake is a lab mix weighing about 68 lbs. He is healthy, neutered, up-to-date on all his vaccines and house broken. We think he is around 10-12 years old. He is super friendly and lovable. Low to medium energy. Rarely barks. He likes his walks but likes his naps equally. He doesnt wander out of the yard. Doesn't jump on you/guests when you walk in the door. We dont know how he would be with children or other animals because he hasn't had an opportunity to be around them. But he has a very sweet disposition. Message me if you or someone you know wants a sweetheart to love. We are in the Colerain OH area.

Story
Meet Denver – the ultimate class clown of the shelter! This 5-year-old, 47 lb goofball came in as a stray back in April and has been entertaining us ever since. He’s:?? Neutered ???? Completely vetted ???? Toy enthusiast ???? Treat connoisseur ???? Dog friendly ???? Sweet & affectionate ??Denver knows all the tricks – sit, shake (with BOTH paws, thank you very much), and lay down – but don’t let his smarts fool you… he’s also the guy doing cannonballs in the water bowl because he LOVES the water. ????He’s a rough player with a big heart, and he’s been waiting way too long for his forever playmate. Could that be you? ????www.animalfriendshs.org Hamilton, Ohio #adoptdenver #waterbaby #afhs

Story
?? Kai’s Story — One He Shouldn’t Have to Tell Again ??Sometimes life just isn’t fair for the sweetest souls. Kai’s been through so much in such a short time. He came to us as a stray back in March, found a home in May, and now—through no fault of his own or his adopters—he’s back with us again this September. You can see it in his eyes… the confusion, the sadness, the heartbreak of wondering what he did wrong. The truth is—he didn’t do anything wrong. He’s just a young boy, 1 year and 3 months old, about 50 lbs, who wants to belong somewhere for good this time.Kai is everything you could want in a dog — neutered, housebroken, great with kids, and wonderful with other dogs. He loves to play fetch, knows his commands (sit, stay, paw, lay down, even “bedtime”), and has all the love in the world to give.He just doesn’t understand why he’s back in a kennel instead of curled up on the couch with his family. He tries to stay strong, wagging his tail for attention, but you can tell he’s hurting inside. Please, help us change Kai’s story. ??Come meet him, show him that love doesn’t always end, and help him find the forever home he’s been waiting for.??Animal Friends Humane Society1820 Princeton Rd, Hamilton OHwww.animalfriendshs.org

Story
Who doesn’t need a little angel to pal around and go places with? Look no further than Warrior!!! His name means “resilient” and “brave”, and this gentle guy truly lives up to his name. He came to the shelter a few months ago as a stray who was severely emaciated and sick. Since that time, he has been nursed back to a proper weight and loves human attention. While he may get overlooked due to the calm, quiet demeanor he exhibits in his cage, he will look at you with patient and sad eyes wanting you to pick him. My kids and I recently took Warrior on his first Dog Day Trip out of the shelter and this is what we experienced…- Large Mixed breed (58 pounds)- An amazing car-rider… he got right in without any hesitation and loved to stare out the window.- He could use some training with leash skills, but I think he would be easily trainable as he is very food motived.- A gentle treat taker! Warrior loved the hamburger, peanut butter filled kong, dog treats and pup cups he was treated to during the 4-hours we were together.- He is a quiet dog who didn’t bark one time, even when my neighbor’s dog came over to see who was next door.- Love, love, loved to play fetch with tennis balls in our fenced in back yard with my kids.- He is truly a gem and loved interacting with my kids (ages 8-11). He just melted when they pet him and he fell asleep beside them for a much needed nap.- Slightly older kids might be better as he can get excited and jump.- Very affectionate, snuggly, well-mannered, a true Velcro dog, and playful (active during fetch and zoomies around the back yard) yet calm.- Super smart and trainable… he already knows “sit”.- Loves the smells of the outside but ignored my neighbor’s dog and didn’t really react to my cats who were meowing while we were separated with Warrior in a different room.WARRIOR is a true gem and one that would make an excellent addition to your family! Please, please stop by and meet him… I promise you, he will become your best friend!!!
