Story
This is Parker. He is 7-8 months old and is a LOVE! He needs to be with someone who can give him more time. I have him in the crate for too long and he needs to run! He has separation anxiety big time. He needs training. Mostly house broken but still will have an accident now and then. I hate giving him up because he is a cuddle bug and the sweetest pup, but he deserves someone or a family that can give him more time. A house with teenagers who can play and roughhouse with him would be perfect.

Story
Charlie is intelligent, active, loving and just so damn pretty. His mother and I are separated and heading toward divorce and we have 4 other dogs that will require her attention and I will have to live in a place where I will not be able to take him AND wouldn't want him to be stuck in an apartment while I work. He has had alpha dog issues with our 10 yr old 70lb Pit and we need someone's help to continue loving him as much as we do. It breaks my heart and brings me to tears writing about him for the purpose of rehoming him. He has been my greatest comfort these past few months but my worst case scenario doesn't have to be his. He is just simply the best but a lil complicated too. Please, please, please help me and Charlie.

Story
Oreo is a calm friendly dog who occasionally gets carried away with the zoomies. She is looking for a home without young children as she is deaf and will need extra time and respect of boundaries while she settles in. Oreo gets along well with people and the other dogs she has met, but there is always the risk of a startle reaction because she cannot hear what is going on around her. OTHER PETS: Oreo was calm while meeting other dogs. [Likely (With proper introduction)] OWNER EXPERIENCE: Someone who has experience with larger breeds, deaf dogs, or both would best be able to care for Oreo.[Some Experience] KIDS: 15+ (must meet first)ACTIVITY LEVEL: While Oreo is calm, she does have a good amount of energy. Walks, standard or long, should be part of her daily routine; while she might also enjoy more intense exercise like hiking, running, agility or lure coursing.[Good Walking Buddy / Olympic Athlete]VETERINARY CARE: Oreo is deaf and has a head tilt; she would benefit from having a good lifelong relationship with her veteraniarian.[Above Average] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Positive reinforcement training can only benefit Oreo; it will also help her bond with her new family and learn how to safely participate in recreational activities.[Moderate] GROOMING:[Minimal]September 27, 2023, 8:00 pm

SHADOW

American Pit Bull Terrier

Male, adult
Springfield, MA
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Shadow is looking for a place where the water bowl is full and the tummy rubs are plentiful. He has a big personality and would benefit from regular physical activity for both health reasons and to get out some of his plentiful energy. OTHER PETS: Shadow did fine meeting other dogs but he has a `bull in a china shop` sort of personality and would do best living as an only dog or with a submissive female dog. [Case-By-Case (Must Meet First)] OWNER EXPERIENCE: Shadow would do best with someone who is confident and comfortable handling larger dogs.[Some Experience] KIDS: While shadow is friendly, he is a lot of dog and pulls a lot when walking on leash.[15+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Shadow needs to get his steps in![Good Walking Buddy] VETERINARY CARE: Shadow has been treated for ear infections since arrival; while he continues to improve, it is possible that this is a chronic condition that will need lifelong care.[Above Average] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: We recommend going through at least a basic training course that utilizes positive reinforcement training to help Shadow be the best dog he can be. Training will also help strengthen the bond between Shadow and whomever is taking him to training.[Moderate] GROOMING:[Minimal] September 27, 2023, 8:00 pm

Story
Spotty came to TJO as a stray and wiggled his way into staff's hearts quickly. We don't know about his past but his future, with the right owner, is going to be spectacular.OTHER PETS: Spotty is a friendly dog who would likely get along with other dogs. [Likely (Must Meet First)] OWNER EXPERIENCE: Spotty will need positive structure to be the best dog he can be, an owner with some previous experience would best be able to meet his needs.[Some Experience] KIDS: Spotty is friendly but has a lot of energy, smaller children could be accidently hurt if he bangs into them or jumps on them while he is still learning (with positive reinforcement training) how to behave.[Dog Savvy 10+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Spotty has a lot of energy and will need daily walks if not a more intensive form of physical exertion like jogging, hiking, agility, etcetra, to help keep him out of mischief. [Good Walking Buddy / Olympic Athlete]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED:We do not believe Spotty has had any training. A basic obedience course utilizing positive behavior training is recommended - further training would only benefit Spotty as well as helping increase the bond between his new owner and himself.[Moderate] GROOMING:[Minimal] September 27, 2023, 8:00 pm
