Story
Zuko is a 5 year old, 85lb German Shepherd from Agawam, MA. He is a sweet boy who found himself in need of a new home due to unfortunate circumstances in our extended family. Zuko is a big love bug who is happy to stretch out next to you in bed. He wants to be your shadow and loves his person once he’s found someone he trusts. He LOVES squeaky toys and greets his favorite people with a big squeak, squeak. He doesn’t tear his stuffies up, but lovingly carries them around. If you say “go for a ride” he does the most adorable head tilt and is ready to go! Zuko is a super smart boy. He knows several basic commands, is fully house trained, and is eager to learn. Zuko has some anxiety that can cause him to be impulsive in situations he feels are stressful. This should be a focus area for training. He is largely unsocialized and untested with other animals. His ideal owner can give him structure, training and consistent boundaries. Zuko is ready to thrive!

Story
This is Pickles ! I am trying to help my neighbors with rehoming her . I care about Pickles a lot and want her to find a home that fits her! Pickles is constantly over my house playing with my dogs ! Pickles is 1 year, she is spayed. She is good with kids. She probably won’t do well with cats. Pickles has been with her owners four about 6 months , they got her as a pup. Pickles is not a good fit for them or their lifestyle. Pickles had a lot of energy! Pickles is a young girl and a pit mix so she is a high energy dog . Pickles needs to play , exercise or some sort of stimulation to be her best self. Pickles does need some basic training as well.

Story
Leela is the sweetest girl who loves to play and cuddle. She is crate trained and house trained. She joined our home May 2024 from her prior owner. Two weeks after bringing her home, signs showed she was losing her sight. The vet confirmed SARDS - Sudden Acute Retinal Degeneration Syndrome. We have confirmed that she cannot see anything - only small bits of light. Her sense of smell is deteriorating as well, so she really relies on her hearing for everything. She needs a home where the owner is home with her the majority of the time and where there are no other animals. She does not get along with any cats or dogs, and I believe that is due to the fact that she simply needs to defend herself since she cannot see.

Story
Squeakers arrived at TJO severely emaciated, but with no shortage of love to give. She has been nothing but sweet and excited to meet every new person she sees. As with any puppy, though, she has quite a bit of youthful energy and a lot to learn about how to live in a home.OTHER PETS: Experience with positive rienforcement or willingness to learn. Squeakers was interested in meeting other dogs, but can be anxious if they're too pushy or lack social skills. She would likely do well in a home with a relaxed, well-socialized dog with the patience for a yongster. [Case-By-Case (Must Meet First)]OWNER EXPERIENCE: Squeakers is still currently on a refeeding plan to help her regain some weight, and has some anatomical oddities in her back legs that will likely require a good relationship with a vet throughout her life. She would do best with someone that has an established relationship with a primary vet. [Some Experience]KIDS: Squeakers is very excited to meet new people, and that often presents with her jumping all over someone in an effort to get as close as possible. She has also shown some mild signs of resource guarding--eating faster when she's approached--and will likely do best around older kids that are able to understand how to interact with her and when to let her have her own space. Interactions with minors should be actively supervised for everyone's safety. [13+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL: Squeakers is a puppy with quite a bit of happy energy! She would do well with various kinds of both physical and mental enrichment in order to match her needs. [Good Walking Buddy / Olympic Athlete]VETERINARY CARE: One of the first things you'll notice about Squeakers--after she's done jumping into your lap and getting as close as possible--is her posture and back legs. She doesn't quite fully extend her back legs while standing, and while this could be a result of something genetic or environmental, she will likely need more intensive vet care as she continues to grow. Over time, she could be at a greater risk of arthritis, the development of luxating patellas, or other orthopedic discomfort. [Intensive]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: Squeakers is just beginning to learn new skills and fun tricks, and will do best learning with someone who can offer patience while she adjusts. Positive reinforcement will help Squeakers not only learn some fun cues but also help her to feel more comfortable and confident in herself! It will provide a good opportunity for her to bond with her new owner as well. [Intense]GROOMING: Routine brushing will help to minimize shedding in the home. [Minimal]August 17, 2026, 8:15 pm
