Story
Opie is a cute-as-a button four year old, tan and white male Chihuahua who is looking for his forever home. Opie is a little shy at first, but opens up with a little affection. After that, he loves to be held and cuddled. At 10 pounds, that’s easy to do. Opie is fine with cats and small dogs, but needs to be in a home with no big dogs as he is fearful of them.  Opie is crate-trained and will be neutered prior to adoption. He is currently at the Shelter.  Here is the adoption process:   To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. There is a $100 fee for any county animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered, there is a $35 deposit which will be returned upon proof of surgery. All dogs must be licensed before leaving the Shelter. Please note that public offices that issue dog licenses are not open on Saturdays and Sundays. All cats must leave in a carrier.   Thank you for considering a homeless animal.February 23, 2026, 7:44 am

Story
Jasper is a stunning, 40 pound one-year-old Husky mix with gorgeous blue eyes. He’s a very sweet and personable pup, but needs some basic skills training to help him become the best boy he can be. He is athletic and energetic, and would make a great hiking or running companion. He loves to play, but settles down easily when given attention and affection. He seems to like most other dogs. His feelings about cats are unknown. He is currently at the Shelter and will be neutered prior to adoption.   Here is the adoption process:   To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. Story
Samantha is an approximately 6-month-old female weighing about 23 pounds, with a beautiful tri-color coat of brown, white, and black. Her start in life was challenging—she was rescued at just 6 weeks old after becoming paralyzed due to a severe intestinal parasite infestation. With prompt intervention and care from specialized veterinarians, Samantha made a complete recovery and has no resulting issues. Because she spent so much time at the veterinary clinic early on, Samantha developed a truly unique and confident personality. She is extremely energetic, playful, and thrives on interaction. She would do best in a home that already has another dog, as she loves having a playmate to match her energy. Samantha is very clever, obedient, and intelligent, and she’s eager to learn. Like any puppy, she still needs patience, consistency, and plenty of love. She is crate-friendly, primarily for sleeping, and is house-trained, as long as she is on a good schedule. Samantha is a resilient, joyful puppy ready to bring energy, intelligence, and affection into the right home. Samantha will arrive in Albion, NY in mid January and we would love to have a family waiting for her! * Please note: All dogs are rescues so we often do not know the actual breeds but use an educated guess to tell you what they most look like. Our adoption fee is $400 and unless otherwise stated all dogs and puppies have been spayed/neutered, microchipped, 4DX tested(if age appropriate), Put on heartworm/flea/tick prevention, age appropriately vaccinated, dewormed, vet checked and flown from Puerto Rico. Story
Indigo, or Indy, is approximately 2 years old and another stray that was never claimed. We are still learning about her, but she seems to love people but can be dog selective with her submissive personality. Also at this point, we would suggest older respectable kids for Indigo. * After more interactions within Indigo, we believe that she may need to be the only pet in the home and also no small children. If you may be interested in adding Indy to your family, here is a link to our application that you can print out, complete and email (ocadoptions@aol.com) or text (585-752-2588) back to us as a jpg. https://34700641-153071652496766543.preview.editmysite.com/uploads/3/4/7/0/34700641/int_app_new.pdf Send us a text or message if you have any questions.
