Story
What can we say about Poppy...She's the best! We'll start by telling you about Poppy's past. She came to HSDC after being abandoned by her family and left on a chain without any care. A kind neighbor started feeding her but was moving and knew Poppy would need a new family. When we met Poppy, she smiled from ear to ear and hasn't stopped smiling since. She loves everyone she meets, dogs and people included. She wants to play with cats and they don't seem to be a fan of her big smile so she probably doesn't need cats in her new family. She loves to play fetch and is very affectionate to anyone that will give her loving. We think she's a Catahoula mix and has the most unique face and body markings. She is estimated to be around 3 years old. If you want to be this girl's forever home, please visit our website at hsdavie.org and complete an adoption application.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
The name Happy reflects her personality. She greets all visitors with a wag and a wiggle. She barks when startled but she usually is very quiet and well behaved. She gets along well with other dogs and cats, if anything a little timid. She walks well on a leash and loves to frolic close by if you let her off. One whistle and she comes running back to you. She also loves to just sit by your side as your best friend. Happy is roughly 2 years old. She is very healthy and weighs 59 lbs. She checks most of the boxes when you are looking for a good pet and family member. The one time that she was around small children, she was gentle and behaved. If you are interested in meeting Happy, please complete an adoption application on our website at hsdavie.org

Story
My name is Gunner. I'm a 3 year old 70 pounds lab mix and I am neutered. I am super excited all the time! I am really smart, and I LOVE food. If you have treats, I will do just about anything for you! I love to run and jump and have been known to jump over walls. If you leave me alone for too long, I do get a little bit upset and anxious. I do suffer from anxiety and in turn, am on daily medications. When my mom has the time to play with me, I'm the absolute best boy! I did have a broken leg when I was younger, but it healed, and you'd never know if it wasn't for my scars. I do have allergies to chicken, but if you feed me salmon - I'm nowhere near as itchy. I do great if I have a friend to run and play with (cats and dogs), but I am okay if I'm an only pet. I do great with kids, but I do like to jump so it does scare them sometimes. My mom is trying to find me a new home because we moved and now, I can't run outside and get my energy out and end up in a crate all day. She wants what's best for me and wants to find someone who can give me the time I need to play. If you are interested in giving Gunner the home he needs, please visit our website at hsdavie.org and complete an adoption application.

Story
Jackie is a sweet and friendly one year old mixed breed with a gorgeous deep brindle coat. She is looking for an active person or family who loves to play as much as she does. Jackie weighs 35 pounds, which is just a hair under her ideal weight. She is full grown so she should top out at 40 pounds or so. Jackie is up to date on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm disease and her adoption fee includes a voucher for her spay.
