Story
Basil is a petite Coonhound mix, found as a stray. We estimate her to be about 2 years old and she weighs only 45 pounds. If you've always wanted a Coonhound but thought they were too big, here's your girl. She is a friendly dog who is looking for a person or family that can appreciate her. She keeps a clean kennel here in the shelter, which is a really good sign for housetraining. Basil is very food motivated, which helps with training and takes treats so gently! Hounds love to run so her new family will need patience as she learns her boundaries. Basil is up to date on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm disease and her adoption fee includes a voucher for the mandatory spay and microchip.

Story
****Reduced adoption fee***Adorable 7 month old puppy. Mom is a medium sized (26 lbs) mixed breed, dad is unknown. Mom and puppies were found as strays when the babies were 1 week old. Bee's Knees weighs 48 pounds so he will likely be a medium to large dog when full grown. He has grown the most adorable set of ears ever! I believe he can pick up radio signals from Mars with them! Sweet boy who isn't sure why he is back at the shelter. Bee's Knees is up to date on age-appropriate vaccines, have tested negative for heartworm disease and the adoption fee includes a voucher for the mandatory neuter and microchip. Bee's Knees was adopted as a tiny puppy. He was just returned due to a change in the owner's circumstances. $20 adoption fee

Story
Adorable, friendly 9 week old puppy. Volt is one of the males. He weighs 21 pounds now so he will be a medium to large dog when full grown. The owners tell us that the mom is a German Shepherd/Husky mix and Dad is a Standard Poodle. Ohm and his littermates are super cute, some look more like mom, some more like dad. Volt is black and white. Puppies are lots of fun, but also lots of work. The good news is that if you put in the time when they are little, you get to enjoy a well trained dog for the rest of their life. Volt is up to date on age appropriate vaccines, has been started on heartworm and flea control and his adoption fee includes a voucher for the mandatory neuter and microchip when old enough.

Story
Gorgeous, sweet tempered 9 month German Shepherd dog mix. He weighs 68 pounds. Chase looks like a classic black and tan Shepherd, a bit smaller than a full blooded GSD. He and his littermates were found when they were tiny puppies. Chase has been with his family but they realized they don't have the time to give him the attention he needs. Shepherds are very social and intelligent dogs. They love to spend time with their people and need physical and mental exercise every day. Chase turned out to be an escape artist and his owners were concerned that he would get into trouble when he went on an unsupervised adventure. Shepherds have a double coat so they do shed. A lot. Veteran shepherd owners say that they blow a coat twice a year, for 6 months each time. Chase is up to date on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm disease and his adoption fee includes the neuter and microchip.

Story
Rebecca is a sweet and friendly adult. She was found as a stray. We estimate her to be about 6 years old. She weighs 47 pounds. She has a soft merle coat. She looks like a hound mix. Rebecca has a microchip but the owners never registered it. She is a gently and friendly girl, looking for a calm person or family. She enjoys her walks but also is ready to chill on the sofa and binge watch a few episodes. Rebecca keeps a clean kennel here in the shelter, which is a good sign for housetraining. We suspect Rebecca may have some hearing loss, or she is just ignoring us. Rebecca is up to date on vaccines, has tested negative for heartworm disease and the adoption fee includes a voucher for the mandatory spay.
