Story
We got Koda at the Humane Society. He was so skinny and scared of everything and everyone. He had been abused in his past. He’s such a sweet boy. He’s under the age of 2 still. We brought him home and have loved him since. However, he is a husky (thought to be purebred Siberian) that needs more time than we can give him. Being in his cage while we are at work makes him very anxious and he has accidents related to his nerves. He’s great with our other animals and so good with kids & adults. We just want to see him go to a home where there is someone home all day and he has room to roam outside. All of our other animals handle crate time without a problem, we just feel awful that he cannot. Koda needs to go to a loving home. We will not rehome him until we find the right fit. Please only inquire if someone is home all day and Koda can be crate free.

Story
Sweet boy Wiley! This 12 month old pup is SUPER sweet!! He loves everyone! He's good with kids and other friendly dogs. Cats are unknown so we're recommending no cats just because of his breed and he may chase! Wiley's mom is a Norwegian Elkhound... his dad was the area's free roaming Rat Terrier mix. We assume because of his small size dad was small! Thankfully the owner allowed us to spay mom and they decided to keep her. Wiley is around 20 pounds. We know the pictures make him look bigger but he's not. His foster mom carries him around one handed with ease! He's a silly, playful boy who just wants to be with his people! Wiley, like his name sake can be an escape artist and will try to escape any breach in fencing so he does require secure physical fencing! He unfortunately was born under a barn and never had boundaries and as you all know ..that's NOT a good thing! Just like his dad he WILL roam if given the chance! Wiley would do fantastic in a home with children! He loves children and does very well with dog savvy, respectful children! ❤ When he's tired he will snuggle right up in your lap or right next to you! Preferably in your lap! Wiley is crate trained. He's crated at night & while foster family is not home and does well. Although he wouldn't protest sleeping with any humans! He likes to be with his people! Wiley is housebroken too! Bonus!! He will excited piddle occasionally but only if he hasn't been out for awhile and his bladder is full! He's a great little pup who just wants to be loved! ❤ Here's a note from his foster mom: We absolutely adore this little guy! He is such a love! His sweet & silly personality makes him the perfect little companion for just about any family looking for a smaller dog! Wiley is fully vetted including his neuter, age appropriate vaccines, rabies, bordetella, de-wormed, flea & tick treated, on heartworm prevention, and microchipped We adopt within a 4-hour radius of Toledo,OH Our adoption fee is $400 Note: We DO require a secure physically fenced yard for Wiley! https://www.deaconshope.org/adoption-application.html

Story
Bosco is a 14 week old Hound mix. He must have had a rough start because he has taken a while to act like a puppy. He loves playing with other dogs and I think it shows him how a dog should act so I think he should be in a house with at least one other dog. He loves being outside and exploring. He will chase a ball outside and play more outside. He has not been around cats, so I do not know how he would do. I would recommend he is adopted by someone with children over the age of 12, not because he is aggressive by any means, he just seems more fearful of younger children. Bosco will need decompression time at his new home! It MAY take a couple of weeks for him to feel comfortable in a new place with new people. He is NOT aggressive with new people at all. He feels very comfortable in his crate with the door open, especially when the kids are playing around. He will need a family that is willing to be patient and work with him to help him build connections and confidence. He may hide for the first couple of days. Socialization and puppy classes would be very beneficial. After many weeks he will now lick me and let me pet him after I let him smell me. He has come a long way, and I think he will turn out just as awesome as his smart, loving brother with time and the right person. He does really well going potty outside. He hasn’t had an accident in a long time, but we take him out regularly. We are also working on walking on a leash and he is getting better! He actually doesn’t chew on much at all, I wonder if that will change as he continues to warm up. He is crate trained and will sometimes go in there by himself and lay. He needs to have a crate or a place to feel safe. He is in there around 9 hours at night and does fine. He will go lay down(go to his crate) when told. Fenced yard required! He is fully vetted and looking for a loving home! We adopt within a 4 hour radius of Toledo, OH Our adoption fee is $400 Fully vetted including neuter, puppy vaccines, bordetella, flea & tick treated, heartworm prevention, de-wormed, and microchipped

Story
Mr. Rocko is one of the most handsome boys around the kennels. He recently came to us as a stray in awful condition. His nails were so long they had begun to curl sideways, making it painful for him to walk. After some major TLC and a manicure, Rocko’s a new man and he’s ready to take on his new life. This older gentleman is still very spunky and is very strong on leash. Rocko would likely benefit most from walking in a harness or having a fenced yard to run around in. He does do well on tie-outs for short periods of time. Rocko is very loving with all of us here at the shelter and has done well meeting new people, kids included. He does seem overwhelmed here in the kennel environment and has been a little reactive with other dogs. It's likely that he would be fine with another canine companion away from the shelter, but it will take several slow and proper introductions. We are unsure how he is with cats or other small animals. **Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and UTD on vaccines & monthly prevention**

Story
Hellloooooo humans! I'm Karma! I'm a brown-eyed ball of fun that's looking for a family to call my own. I came to FDHS several months ago and was never reclaimed. There isn't much information on my past or where I came from, but I do know what I'm looking for in my future! I'm a huge cuddler and need someone willing to devote time out of their day to snuggle me close and kiss my little wrinkly face. I also need someone that's cool with taking things slow when introducing me to new people or new animals. I haven't had a lot of opportunities to meet new faces so it can be a little scary for me. I do excellent on leash, on a tie-out, and out in fenced in areas. I listen really well and just want to be near my people. I also keep a pretty clean space and do great if I'm let out regularly. If you're ready to smooch and snuggle, I'm here waiting!**Spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative, and UTD on vaccines & monthly prevention**

Story
Meet Miss AthenaShe is still pretty new to our facility after leaving her home. The dog she was living with was not impressed by her big puppy energy. She’s still adjusting to life at the shelter but she’s warming up to the staff and is working on overcoming her fear of new people. She did live with a toddler in her previous home and did totally fine. This bodacious young bulldog is a BIG girl that’s expected to get even bigger as she grows. Athena is still a giant puppy and needs a home that can dedicate the patience and time to training her into being the best big girl. She does great in the house as long as she’s let out regularly and does well in a kennel. Athena is VERY strong and needs work on her leash manners, so hold on tight! She does excellent in a fenced in area. **Spayed, microchipped, and UTD on vaccines & monthly prevention**
