Story
Maisey and Blue are great dogs. I have had them for several months but they are really seeking a home with a yard they can run in. They are fun loving and crate trained. Good on a leash. They love their crates and pillows to lay on. They enjoy their toys and playing with each other. They like your attention as well. Blue is a cuddle bug where Maizey likes just enough love and her curious self is off to other things and can entertain herself. I have come to adore them but they need a yard and I cant provide that. Would love to find them a home together if possible.

Story
Meet Faith! Faith is a 1–2-year-old, 50-pound bully mix who came to FMAR after surviving on her own as a Sumpter stray. One of our dedicated volunteers had been keeping a watchful eye on her for weeks, patiently earning her trust. When Faith finally made her way to safety, it was clear she had a gentle spirit hidden beneath her fear. At first, Faith was understandably shy—but with time, patience, and kindness, she began to blossom. Now, her sweet and affectionate nature is shining through. She hasn’t been introduced to direct play with other dogs yet, but she’s done wonderfully on group pack walks and in passing interactions, showing calm curiosity. We think she could thrive with a calm, confident canine companion who can help her continue to build trust. Faith would do best in a quieter home with older children who understand her need for a gentle approach. A fenced-in yard and peaceful daily walks would give her the space and structure to feel safe and loved. She hasn’t been tested with cats just yet, but we’re happy to explore that for the right home. Once Faith knows you, she’s all about cuddling up on the couch and soaking in the affection she’s missed for so long. She’s still revealing pieces of her personality each day—and we can already tell she’s something special. Are you the kind, patient person who can help Faith write her next chapter? ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you would like to meet Faith, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250, which covers part of the medical care she will receive. **Please note that the breed listed for each of our dogs is a rough estimate unless DNA results are provided in their Bio. All strays have rough estimates of their age based on the condition of their teeth. Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.

Story
Meet Ranger!Ranger is a 4-year-old grey and white mixed breed with a big heart and so much love to give. This handsome boy has the kind of soulful eyes that seem to look right through you—and once you meet him, it’s easy to see how quickly he bonds with his people.Ranger is an incredibly smart and obedient dog who truly enjoys learning. He would thrive in a home with someone who enjoys working with their dog and continuing his training, whether that’s basic manners or even more advanced activities. One of Ranger’s favorite things is using his nose—he absolutely loves searching and sniffing out hidden treasures! We’ve already started introducing him to scent-based enrichment here, and he has shown just how clever and focused he can be.While Ranger can sometimes feel a little overwhelmed by big changes (which is understandable given his recent transition), he responds beautifully to calm guidance and corrections. With consistency and structure, he settles in quickly and shows what a wonderful companion he can be.Ranger is a strong boy, so his ideal adopter should be comfortable handling a larger dog and continuing to reinforce his good leash manners. Here at the shelter, he’s been walking with a front-clip harness and is already showing very nice leash behavior. When it’s time to relax, Ranger knows how to unwind. When left alone, he calmly settles himself down with his head resting on the floor—no pacing, barking, or anxious behavior—just patiently waiting for his people to return. With his intelligence, affectionate nature, and love for enrichment, Ranger would make an amazing companion for someone looking for a loyal dog who enjoys both activity and connection. If you’re searching for a smart, soulful, and devoted best friend, Ranger might just be the one for you.__________________________________________________________________________________________________If you would like to meet Ranger, please submit an application for him on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs.
