Story
To know Jupiter is to be loved by her. This 4-year-old Akita mix has a soul full of devotion. She bonds deeply with her people and looks at you like you hung the moon. Due to a severe personal medical crisis, I can no longer give her the care she deserves. Jupiter is a “Queen Bee” who needs to be the only pet and in an adult-only home. She prefers not to share her space with other animals or small children. She has a tender heart and struggles with separation anxiety when crated or left alone too long. She needs a home where someone is around often (work-from-home or retired) and can provide plenty of opportunities to go outside for potty breaks. She thrives on routine and specific attention. If you are looking for a loyal, loving shadow to be the center of your world, Jupiter is waiting for you. She deserves a soft place to land where she can be the priority. Please contact me to meet this special girl.

Story
Mila is a 4.5 year old Blue nose pit. She is absolutely beautiful inside and out. She loves to cuddle, hike, and will do anything for a treat or her next meal ◡̈ Mila needs a home with a fenced in yard, and a dedicated parent to walk and release her energy daily. She is used to walking 2.5-5 miles on a regular walk and normally takes 3-6 mile hikes through state parks and land trusts in the area. We currently feed her Purina Pro Plan mixed with boiled chicken, rice, and broccoli with occasional pet-friendly snacks and collagen-based treats. Mila is not up-to-date on shots but has had distemper, rabies, listeria, and Lyme shots. She does not do well in cramped spaces, and is known to chew things when she is bored/not active enough.

Story
Meet Mi’jo — a tiny senior gentleman with a heart full of love. Mi’jo is a 10-year-old, 12-pound sweetheart who embodies everything wonderful about senior dogs: calm, gentle, affectionate, and endlessly grateful for every moment with his people. He’s housetrained, crate trained, and has the sweetest, softest presence in the home. Mi’jo enjoys the simple joys of life—slow strolls, sniffing around the yard, cozy naps, and treats (he LOVES treats!). Despite having typical senior-dog challenges like dim vision, some arthritis, and spondylosis, he’s still active, comfortable, and happily engaged in his daily routines. He currently lives with several other dogs and gets along beautifully with everyone, but due to his small size and gentle nature, Mi’jo would do best in a quiet home without rambunctious dogs or small children. He also isn’t suited for homes with lots of stairs unless they can be securely blocked off. Mi’jo is a quiet little man, though he does enjoy gently reminding the Amazon driver that he’s still on duty as a loyal protector. Most of the time, though, you’ll find him cuddled up on the couch, snoozing peacefully. This sweet boy has been fully vetted, including labwork, a dental cleaning, and a thorough exam. He had very poor teeth and required 16 extractions, so he now eats soft food (or Fresh Pet) and enjoys soft treats—Pill Pockets are his favorite! He takes a daily NSAID to keep him comfortable and feeling good. Mi’jo is looking for a calm, loving home where he can spend his golden years surrounded by warmth, safety, and gentle companionship. Could your heart and couch be the perfect place for him? Email info@joyrides.org to request an application. Mi'jo is being fostered in Jersey City, NJ and is available for adoption locally or in the NE. We can usually find a volunteer to meet you halfway!

Story
Meet Marshal A Big, Handsome Softie Looking for the Right Home Marshal is a 6 1/2 YO, 90 lb male Bernedoodle. He is a loving, affectionate companion with a huge heart. He bonds deeply with his people and is happiest simply hanging out by your side. He is sweet, gentle with adults, and has an adorable, expressive face that wins everyone over. Marshal does, however, need a very specific type of home. He cannot be around children, especially small ones, and must be placed in an adults-only environment. He also has a low tolerance for frustration, and his anxiety makes him reactive. Because he is so attached to his people, he doesn’t like being left alone. He thrives in a calm, predictable home where he can feel secure. He would also do best with a fenced-in yard, where he can safely relax, explore, and burn off energy without added stress. With the right match, Marshal is an incredibly loyal, loving, and rewarding dog. He truly just wants to love and be loved.

Story
Rufus is the kind of dog you wish you could clone—being around him just fills you with joy. Rufus is endlessly sweet, unbothered by anything, and full of gentle affection. Every volunteer looks forward to their “Rufus time.” He has this magical way of making you feel special just by leaning into you or gazing up with those warm, soulful eyes. One look at that adorable face and your heart practically melts. We’re truly honored to care for him while he waits for his forever family, but we know our hearts will rest easier once he’s in a home where he’s loved as deeply as he loves others. He deserves that. He is sad in a kennel and misses having a family of his own. Rufus is deserving, and he’s going to make someone’s life so much warmer. Rufus was found wandering in the pouring rain, soaked and alone. The kind person who spotted him pulled over, and without hesitation, Rufus hopped right into her car as if he knew he was finally safe. This amazing boy is patient, gentle, and cooperative with everything we ask of him. He loves bundling up in his cozy coats for walks or outdoor time, and he’s such a good sport about wearing his little booties and getting foot balm to soothe his paws from the cold and ice. On icy days, we lay yoga mats down so he can walk safely out of his kennel. It’s adorable watching him wait politely for each mat to be placed, then hop from one to the next with the cutest determination. It’s no surprise he has a huge fan club here—everyone who meets him falls in love. Rufus loves his blanket, which he snuggles with every chance he gets. At just 2 years old, Rufus is ready to bring warmth, joy, and companionship to a loving home. He will make a wonderful addition to your family. Please email Adoptions@LaManchaAnimalRescue.org to meet Rufus. Neutered, UTD vaccinations, microchipped, wormed. Housetrained.   Please visit our website at https://www.lamanchaanimalrescue.org to see all of our adoptable dogs.  LaMancha Animal Rescue 855 Doe Run Rd Coatesville PA 19320 Kennel License 1697    December 27, 2025, 6:00 pm
