Story
Meet Rosie! A spirited one-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever mix currently living in Liberty Hill, TX, whose golden coat and bright white accents mirror the sunshine she brings wherever she goes. Rosie is the kind of dog who’s always ready for adventure, whether it’s bounding after a tennis ball, trotting down an off-leash trail, or galloping across a big backyard with the wind in her fur! A natural athlete with a heart full of love, Rosie thrives on outdoor playtime and would absolutely adore a bit of land or a spacious yard where she can stretch her legs and explore to her heart’s content. Playful and loyal, Rosie is also a big fan of training time—especially when tasty treats are involved! She’s already picked up handy commands like “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and “leave it,” and with her food-motivated personality, she’s eager to learn even more with positive reinforcement. When it’s time to wind down, this sweet girl is a cuddle pro, happy to snuggle up after a day full of fun! Rosie is wonderful with children of all ages and enjoys the company of other dogs, especially those her own size who share her zest for play. She would be a fantastic match for a family with other large dogs or anyone simply looking for a loyal, four-legged best friend. While she handles short periods alone just fine and is crate-trained, she truly shines when she’s part of the daily rhythm of a home—sharing time, space, and love with her people. Her one quirk? Vacuums and electric house tools are not her jam—they’re a little too noisy and unpredictable for her liking. But hey, aren’t we all allowed our pet peeves? Fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and house-trained, Rosie is ready to leap into her next chapter! Could your home be the one where she’ll run, romp, and rest her head? Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com and tell us—can you picture Rosie as your new adventure buddy?

Story
Chili is a heeler mix who was found wandering out and about by a Good Samaritan. When this kind soul offered Chili a ride, she never looked back and away they went! Chili's new friend really wanted to keep Chili, but her dog had other ideas and it soon became clear that Chili would do better in another home. Chili is microchipped and attempts were made to contact her original owner, but that person never responded. We suspect that's because Chili is deaf. However, she's also smart as a whip and eager to please. Her foster mom has been able to teach Chili many commands using sign language and would be happy to share what she knows with any potential adopter. Chili is playful and silly and loving and would be a great addition to any family that has a little time and patience to continue her training. She's been around lots of older kids at a riding stable, where she spends her days, and has been well-mannered with all of them. She has a couple of dog buddies, too, but kitties aren't her thing. Chili is happy and healthy and would love to live her best life with someone like you. Please consider opening your heart and home to this beautiful puppy who has so much to offer. You'll be glad you did. For more information, please TEXT Mary at 214-783-2060 and she'll call you back!

Story
Meet Stella! A spirited four-year-old Mixed Breed beauty currently living in Rochester, MN, whose essence is a blend of high-energy adventure and heart-melting affection, all wrapped in a cream coat with charming white accents. At about 75 pounds, Stella is a big-hearted girl with a big personality to match! She's the kind of pup who doesn’t play favorites—any toy is her favorite toy, and playtime is always the highlight of her day. Whether it squeaks, bounces, or tugs, Stella’s ready to turn it into a joyful game! She thrives on activity and companionship, making her a wonderful match for someone who loves long walks, outdoor romps, or backyard ball-chasing marathons. Though she hasn’t been through formal obedience classes, Stella knows most basic commands and responds well with consistency and encouragement. She's house-trained, spayed, and microchipped, and has a healthy bill of health—just waiting for a pet parent who can offer her the time, structure, and attention she needs. Like many bright and energetic dogs, Stella does best when her mind and body are both kept busy. Training classes using positive reinforcement would be a fun way to bond and help her continue to blossom. Stella is friendly with other dogs and enjoys canine companionship, but she's not compatible with small children and would thrive in an adult-only home. She’s used to spending the workday on her own, but her true happiness comes from quality time with her people—whether that's snuggles on the couch or play sessions in the yard. Her sensitive side means that big changes, like new people or being left out of the action, can make her anxious, so a consistent routine and patient caregivers will help her feel secure. Loyal, playful, and full of personality, Stella is a loving companion ready for a fresh start with a family who can match her energy and give her the attention she needs. Could your home be the next chapter in Stella’s journey of joy and tail-wagging adventures? To learn more about Stella or to inquire about adoption, please contact adopt@joyfulpets.com!

Story
Meet Rick! A soulful nine-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever mix currently in Round Rock, TX, whose gentle heart and calm spirit make him the kind of companion everyone dreams of. With his sleek charcoal coat, expressive eyes, and 75 pounds of affectionate loyalty, Rick is the definition of a steady and loving friend. Rick is the kind of dog who makes a house feel like a home. He’s house-trained, polite, and thrives in a peaceful environment where he can be close to his people, his favorite place is right by your side! Whether it’s a cozy evening curled up on the couch or a leisurely walk around the neighborhood, Rick is happiest when he’s sharing life’s simple moments with his family. He has a special fondness for stuffed animals and is always up for a stroll, though he’s just as content lounging quietly in good company. Having spent his life in a nurturing family setting, Rick is used to the rhythm of daily life, including calm mornings, evening walks, and lots of love. He’s great with children of all ages, making him a wonderful match for families looking for a steady, emotional support companion. While Rick is friendly with most dogs, he tends to steer clear of dominant males, preferring calm canine company. He hasn’t had experience with cats, so slow introductions would be best. Rick is healthy, neutered, microchipped, and fully up to date on his care. He knows basic commands like sit, stay, and lie down, and while he hasn’t had formal obedience training, his laid-back nature and good manners make him an easy roommate. He handles short periods alone just fine, he’s used to waiting patiently during the workday, but his true joy comes from shared time in the evenings. He does get a bit anxious during thunderstorms or fireworks, so a calm, reassuring environment will help him feel safe and supported. If you’re looking for a devoted companion who will greet you at the door, rest his head on your lap, and love you with quiet, unwavering loyalty, Rick might be the perfect match! Could Rick be the steady, loving soul your family’s been waiting for? Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more!

Story
Meet Bella! A gentle almost eight-year-old German Shepherd currently in Thornton, CO, whose heart is as big as her 110-pound frame and just as full of love. With her striking black and tan coat and calm, watchful eyes, Bella is a loyal companion who prefers the quiet comfort of your company over the hustle and bustle of an active household. Bella is the queen of chill! Her favorite pastime? Lounging peacefully near her favorite person with her beloved ball within reach. She's the kind of dog who doesn’t need a marathon of activity to be happy, just a little playtime, lots of affection, and her nightly treat (bonus points if it’s a dental bone)! She's perfectly content being your shadow, quietly following you from room to room like your biggest (and furriest) fan. Spayed, vaccinated, and house-trained, Bella brings the ease of a well-mannered adult dog. She's attended doggy day camp and does well around other dogs, though she's not particularly interested in making new canine friends. She’s more about humans, especially the ones who know how to dole out love and snacks! While she hasn't lived with cats, she has shown a strong interest in chasing them during walks, so she would thrive in a cat-free home. Bella knows most basic commands and handles short times alone with no fuss. She doesn't need a strict routine, but she does expect her nightly treats (it’s a non-negotiable in her book). With no known health concerns or special needs, Bella is a low-maintenance sweetheart whose idea of joy is curling up beside you and making your home feel fuller, cozier, and warmer. She may not be the life of the party, but Bella will be the steady, loving soul who’s always there with a soft nudge, a watchful gaze, and a tail wag just for you. Story
Meet Jimmy! A devoted one-and-a-half-year-old Hound/Labrador Retriever mix currently living in Willowbrook, IL, whose big heart and tricolor coat are as unforgettable as his journey from the streets of Iraq to a life filled with love and hope. Jimmy is a gentle, soulful pup who’s learning every day what it means to be part of a family, and he’s nailing it! With his goofy teddy bear in tow, he adores long walks, belly rubs, and soaking up every bit of affection you have to offer. Whether you're lounging on the couch or heading out for an adventure, Jimmy is your guy! Loyal, cuddly, and ready to be your shadow from morning coffee to bedtime snuggles. This 60-pound sweetheart is house-trained, fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. While formal obedience training hasn’t been part of his past, Jimmy is eager to please and learning new things daily. He thrives in a calm, confident home and would do best as the only pup, where he can have all the love and space to himself, especially a fenced yard where he can stretch his legs and chase a toy or two. Though he may be startled by sudden rear touches or loud yelling, Jimmy’s temperament is affectionate and responsive. He’s done well with some dogs at parks and in boarding, though he can be selective with his canine companions. With the right guidance and continued positive reinforcement, he’s bound to blossom even more! What makes Jimmy especially endearing is his remarkable trust in people despite his challenging start in life. He greets each day with hope, loyalty, and the desire to bond deeply. His current caregiver calls him “a great dog and loving companion,” and it’s clear he’s ready to bring that same comfort and joy into the heart of a new family. Are you the caring, active pet parent Jimmy needs to continue his amazing journey? If you're ready to welcome this devoted companion please email adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more about bringing Jimmy home! Could your family be the one he’s been waiting for?
