Story
Chili is a heeler mix who was found wandering out and about by a Good Samaritan. When this kind soul offered Chili a ride, she never looked back and away they went! Chili's new friend really wanted to keep Chili, but her dog had other ideas and it soon became clear that Chili would do better in another home. Chili is microchipped and attempts were made to contact her original owner, but that person never responded. We suspect that's because Chili is deaf. However, she's also smart as a whip and eager to please. Her foster mom has been able to teach Chili many commands using sign language and would be happy to share what she knows with any potential adopter. Chili is playful and silly and loving and would be a great addition to any family that has a little time and patience to continue her training. She's been around lots of older kids at a riding stable, where she spends her days, and has been well-mannered with all of them. She has a couple of dog buddies, too, but kitties aren't her thing. Chili is happy and healthy and would love to live her best life with someone like you. Please consider opening your heart and home to this beautiful puppy who has so much to offer. You'll be glad you did. For more information, please TEXT Mary at 214-783-2060 and she'll call you back!

Story
Meet Kenna! A spirited almost six-year-old Boxer/Weimaraner mix currently living in Austin, TX, whose essence is a joyful whirlwind of energy wrapped in a stunning white coat with brown brindle patches. Kenna is an explorer at heart—part adventurer, part cuddle bug, and all heart! With 54 pounds of enthusiasm and affection, this girl is most in her element when she’s tearing through a fenced yard, playing tug-of-war, or solving a tricky treat puzzle. She's mastered a whole toolkit of commands—sit, shake, lay down, up, spin, high five, and wait/okay—which she proudly demonstrates in exchange for attention or a dental chew (her absolute favorite treat in the world!). A born runner and a big fan of playtime, Kenna thrives on activity and routine. She’d flourish in a home where her new family enjoys outdoor adventures and can keep up with her zest for life. She adores people and will happily shadow her caregiver around the house, offering soulful gazes and enthusiastic tail wags! She’s deeply affectionate and forms strong bonds with her people, which makes her prone to separation anxiety when left alone suddenly—especially in confined spaces. Leaving her with a favorite toy or a stuffed treat helps her stay calm while you're away. She also has a fear of running water, likely due to past trauma, and will do best with outdoor bucket baths rather than showers or tubs. Her guardian has worked hard to ease this fear with patience and understanding, and Kenna continues to thrive in the right environment. True to her Boxer roots, Kenna has a strong protective streak and a watchful eye. She’s been known to get excited (and vocal) when she spots what she believes to be intruders—whether that’s a squirrel, a biker, or a wayward jogger in the park. With a confident caregiver using positive reinforcement and a steady hand during walks or vet visits, Kenna stays grounded and well-behaved. Kenna’s ideal home includes a fenced yard, an active routine, and a pet parent who shares her love of outdoor adventures and who will respect her sensitivities while embracing her endless love. While she’s never lived with another dog, she does great at doggy daycare and may do well with a similarly sized, confident canine companion. Cats, on the other hand, are not her thing—she tends to see them more as critters to chase! Kenna is spayed, microchipped, house-trained, up-to-date on vaccines, and on a special diet to keep her feeling her best. This dazzling, doting, and deeply loyal pup is ready to fill your life with laughter, loyalty, and all the tail-wagging affection you can handle! Story
Meet Jack! A lively eight-month-old Poodle mix currently living in Yukon, OK, whose essence is pure puppy joy wrapped in a sleek black coat, complete with a charming white goatee and a blaze down his chest. Jack is equal parts energy and heart, a bundle of enthusiasm who greets each new day like it's a playground waiting to be explored! Since his arrival on New Year’s Eve, this spirited pup has blossomed into a playful, social, and loyal companion. He recently completed a 10-day camp training course where he discovered his favorite thing ever—playing with other dogs! A home with a canine buddy who can keep up with his zoomies and zest for life would be a dream come true. He knows how to "sit," and while he's still working on learning boundaries (he may tug on your clothes or arms to get your attention), Jack is all about connection and curiosity. His communication style is puppy-esque, filled with nibbles and nudges, never malice. He’ll thrive with a patient, active caregiver who can continue his positive reinforcement training and provide the consistency and love he needs. Jack's perfect day includes chasing bubbles, playing ball or frisbee in the yard, and running gleefully through the sprinkler. He’s crate-trained and sleeps peacefully through the night, waking up ready for snuggles and outdoor adventures. Though he's not quite suited for apartment living or homes with small children (he's still a jumper!), he is an ideal match for a home with a fenced yard, lots of playtime, and a young adult who can match his energy and affection. He comes fully outfitted with all his essentials—crate, cover, leash, collar, harness, toys, food bin, and heartworm medication—ready to make a joyful transition into a caring environment. With his soulful eyes and boundless spirit, Jack is a one-of-a-kind pup just waiting to start a lifetime of adventures. Could your home be the place where Jack’s next chapter begins? Story
Meet Stella! A spirited four-year-old Mixed Breed beauty currently living in Rochester, MN, whose essence is a blend of high-energy adventure and heart-melting affection, all wrapped in a cream coat with charming white accents. At about 75 pounds, Stella is a big-hearted girl with a big personality to match! She's the kind of pup who doesn’t play favorites—any toy is her favorite toy, and playtime is always the highlight of her day. Whether it squeaks, bounces, or tugs, Stella’s ready to turn it into a joyful game! She thrives on activity and companionship, making her a wonderful match for someone who loves long walks, outdoor romps, or backyard ball-chasing marathons. Though she hasn’t been through formal obedience classes, Stella knows most basic commands and responds well with consistency and encouragement. She's house-trained, spayed, and microchipped, and has a healthy bill of health—just waiting for a pet parent who can offer her the time, structure, and attention she needs. Like many bright and energetic dogs, Stella does best when her mind and body are both kept busy. Training classes using positive reinforcement would be a fun way to bond and help her continue to blossom. Stella is friendly with other dogs and enjoys canine companionship, but she's not compatible with small children and would thrive in an adult-only home. She’s used to spending the workday on her own, but her true happiness comes from quality time with her people—whether that's snuggles on the couch or play sessions in the yard. Her sensitive side means that big changes, like new people or being left out of the action, can make her anxious, so a consistent routine and patient caregivers will help her feel secure. Loyal, playful, and full of personality, Stella is a loving companion ready for a fresh start with a family who can match her energy and give her the attention she needs. Could your home be the next chapter in Stella’s journey of joy and tail-wagging adventures? To learn more about Stella or to inquire about adoption, please contact adopt@joyfulpets.com!

Story
Meet Rosie! A spirited one-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever mix currently living in Liberty Hill, TX, whose golden coat and bright white accents mirror the sunshine she brings wherever she goes. Rosie is the kind of dog who’s always ready for adventure, whether it’s bounding after a tennis ball, trotting down an off-leash trail, or galloping across a big backyard with the wind in her fur! A natural athlete with a heart full of love, Rosie thrives on outdoor playtime and would absolutely adore a bit of land or a spacious yard where she can stretch her legs and explore to her heart’s content. Playful and loyal, Rosie is also a big fan of training time—especially when tasty treats are involved! She’s already picked up handy commands like “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and “leave it,” and with her food-motivated personality, she’s eager to learn even more with positive reinforcement. When it’s time to wind down, this sweet girl is a cuddle pro, happy to snuggle up after a day full of fun! Rosie is wonderful with children of all ages and enjoys the company of other dogs, especially those her own size who share her zest for play. She would be a fantastic match for a family with other large dogs or anyone simply looking for a loyal, four-legged best friend. While she handles short periods alone just fine and is crate-trained, she truly shines when she’s part of the daily rhythm of a home—sharing time, space, and love with her people. Her one quirk? Vacuums and electric house tools are not her jam—they’re a little too noisy and unpredictable for her liking. But hey, aren’t we all allowed our pet peeves? Fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and house-trained, Rosie is ready to leap into her next chapter! Could your home be the one where she’ll run, romp, and rest her head? Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com and tell us—can you picture Rosie as your new adventure buddy?

Story
Meet Gwen! A dazzling five-year-old Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix currently living in Austin, TX, whose blue merle coat is as vibrant and spirited as her personality. Gwen is a high-energy, athletic girl with a true passion for fetch—she’ll chase a ball like it’s her life’s purpose! Whether it’s racing through the yard or joining you on a three-mile jog, Gwen thrives on physical activity and loves a good challenge. She hasn’t had formal agility training, but her natural ability to run, jump, and focus makes her an exciting candidate for anyone eager to train with positive reinforcement. She also enjoys tug-of-war, quiet time with bones and rawhide, and peaceful brushing sessions (gentle strokes only, please!). Gwen is affectionate with people and calm when her daily need for stimulation is met. She’s house-trained, not destructive, and does well left uncrated for short periods—just be sure to get her moving each day for at least 45 minutes to an hour. She’s also a fantastic road trip companion who adapts well to new places and travels like a pro! CBD oil has helped her manage occasional anxiety, and she thrives in a calm, predictable environment. It’s important to know that Gwen does not do well with other dogs in the home. While she can be around other dogs at the park—mostly choosing to stick close to her person—she’s had multiple conflicts with the resident dog in her current home, including a bite incident. For this reason, Gwen must be the only dog in her new home. Her new family should be experienced, patient, and willing to continue working on her training through structured bonding and consistency. Gwen isn’t food-driven and needs a caregiver who can provide calm leadership and build trust through connection. She’s never bitten a person and is generally very sweet with adults and older children, but she’ll do best in a pet-free home without young kids, where she can feel safe and secure. We’re including a full month of behavioral guidance from our consultant to help Gwen settle in. Her new family will have compassionate support every step of the way to feel confident, connected, and at home. Are you looking for a loyal, athletic companion who’s ready to be your one-and-only adventure buddy? Gwen is ready to go the distance—literally! She’s happy to travel anywhere in the United States to find her new loving home. If so, Gwen’s waiting to meet you. Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more!
