Story
Meet Charlie This sweet boy is 7 months old. He was rescued with his 3 siblings and his mom when he was 2 weeks old. His mom gave birth outside under a pile of trash. Thanks to a volunteer this little family was rescued. They had to go on a 10 hour road trip to make it to their fosters house where he has grown up. His mom has an amazing temperament and weights 10 pounds. We were curious about their breed so we did a DNA test and that revealed that he is 38% Chihuahuas, 14% poodle, 13% Chihuahuas, 11% Jack Russell. We are unsure how big he will get but we don't think he will be more than 20 pounds. Charlie enjoys playing with his siblings and fosters Chihuahua. He especially loves to sit in his foster moms lap for cuddles. He enjoys toys and a good bully stick. He is pretty good about going potty on the pee pads but he is going to need a family willing to potty train him. He is a puppy so he will need a patient family that can provide training so he can grow up to be a successful dog. Charlie would do best with someone that works from home or is only gone for a few hours a day. He is a small puppy so he will need a secure fenced in yard. Charlie is fully vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed. If there are children in the home they must be over 5 years old. Story
Meet Zoey, Zoey has had a heartbreaking start to life. She and her three brothers were rescued from a hoarding and neglect situation in South Texas, where they were used mostly for breeding and lived in terrible conditions. When she was rescued, Zoey was severely matted, covered in fleas, and suffering from painful skin issues. During her spay surgery, it was also discovered that she had a large bladder stone that was causing constant bladder pressure and blood in her urine. In July, Zoey was transferred to the DFW area to obtain surgery to remove her bladder stone and continue her recovery while waiting for her forever family. Zoey is estimated to be about three years old. She is fully vaccinated, spayed, heartworm tested (negative), microchipped, current on flea/tick prevention and heartworm prevention with a pro-heart 6 injection. Severe flea dermatitis and allergies left Zoey with some areas of hair loss, but her coat continues to thicken and improve each week. Her allergies will require on-going meds to keep her comfortable. She will also require prescription dog food for life due to her bladder history to ensure she does not develop another bladder stone. Zoey would prefer a family that is home more often than not, but she has good manners in public, so she is happy to go with you. She walks easily on a leash, sleeps thru the night in a dog bed and loves to sit on your lap to cuddle. She is dog friendly and enjoys playing with the other dogs in her foster home especially when they are close to her size. Due to Zoey’s background of neglect, and bladder stone history she is working on her potty-training skills and is making progress. She needs a patient family who understands it is a process and will continue to work with her. She is an extremely sweet, loving little girl who would make an amazing companion. Note: We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that are a good fit for the dog.

Story
Meet Beth, a tiny 7.5-pound chihuahua. Her owner had an unexpected life change and could no longer care for her so we took her into our rescue. Beth is a shy girl so she will need a family that can give her time to adjust and to move slowly. Ideally, she would prefer an older retired person as it best resembles one of her previous caretakers. She is anxious in new environments, so an easy-going household is important. Due to her anxiety we have now started her on some anti-anxiety medication that will hopefully make her a little more comfortable. She will likely need these medications long term since it's a part of her personality. She really enjoys staying by her fosters’ side while she watches TV, reads, or works on the computer. Once she chooses her caretaker, she will be your little shadow. Beth is potty pad trained. She does not have much outside experience so if she does go out she will need a very secure backyard with a solid fence. She is spayed, current on all of her vaccines, prevention and is microchipped. Note: We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that are a good fit for the dog.

Story
Meet Shadow, this handsome boy is approximately 4 years old. His owner passed away 6 weeks ago leaving behind Shadow and 2 other dogs. A neighbor was coming by every few days to feed and check on the dogs but was worried about what their future would hold now that their owner passed. Another rescue took the other 2 dogs and we agreed to help find Shadow the perfect home. While we aren't sure what Shadow is mixed with we also think it's possible he is just a lab with an adorable underbite. Shadow is very friendly with both people and other animals. He currently is in a foster home with other dogs and chickens. He has seen cats and was non reactive but he hasn't coexisted with cats. He has been exposed to kids 8 and up and was very friendly with them. His foster and others that meet him are truly impressed with his wonderful personality. He would make a wonderful family dog. He is fully vaccinated, microchipped, neutered, and current on prevention. He is potty trained and is crate trained. He is non destructive so a crate isn't mandatory. He is highly trainable and treat motivated. He adapts to routines well so within a few days he will fit easily into your family. We did find out why his name is Shadow and its because he will follow you around everywhere. He is extremely loyal and just wants to be close to his people. Note: We always respond first to inquiries that tell us something about your living situation (house, apartment, single, family, etc.) and why you want this dog. Be sure to include your phone number in your inquiry. We call inquiries that are a good fit for the dog.

Story
A couple weeks ago we were informed of a situation where five dogs were in need of rescue. It was an effort that required a couple rescues. We ended up with Gino. We were able to lock in a foster and move Gino. Gino was terrified… He would alligator roll and howl throughout the night-but today and in such a short time, he is progressing leaps and bounds. Gino it’s super sweet and accepting of pets including cats, loves other dogs, and is house trained. He is fully vetted and ready for his forever home where he will forever be safe off the streets.
