Story
TJ is such a great dog. He is approximately 3-4 yrs. old and loves people.  His excited state when seeing people he knows is to nip them on their fingers to get attention which could be alarming to small children therefore we believe he would do best with older children who would not be startled with this form of affection.  He does know the "sit" command and that helps to calm him down a little.  We believe he is a Staffordshire Terrier mixed with perhaps a boxer. He is currently fostered where he has to stay outside so we don't know if he is house trained.  He does have a large outside chain link kennel he stays in at night which has a designated area for relieving himself and he does use that area so we feel he would be easy to house train.  He isn't a big marker outside so we think that would not be a big issue inside the house but he would need to be watched to correct that issue should it arise.  He gets along with most dogs and has a best friend "Sofie" who he runs and plays with and they are in kennels next to each other.  We believe he would thrive better emotionally with a female companion to pal around with in a working family household where the family is gone part of the day since we already know he does so well with Sofie who is a girl.  We don't know how he is with cats.  Because our adoption process includes a home visit for a yard check, he is available for adoption in the immediate Dallas-Ft.Worth area only. He is neutered, current on his vaccinations, heartworm tested and micro chipped.  If you are seriously interested in meeting TJ outside our adoption events you may email us for a questionnaire to fill out.  If it looks like your home might be a good match for TJ we can set up a meet and greet.  His adoption fee is $150.April 9, 2023, 12:13 am

Story
Nutmeg is approximately 4 years old and is a red heeler mix. He is always happy and gets along with other dogs and currently lives in a household with a cat. He is moderately playful and willing to follow other dogs leads. Because of his herding instinct he does nip at strangers that come on his turf. We aren't sure how he is with small children but believe he will do well with older ones. Nutmeg is  housetrained, neutered and current on his vaccines. He doesn't like being in a crate so is loose in the house or outside. We feel he would be fine in a one dog family providing his human(s) has the desire and plenty of time to spend with him. A home visit is part of his adoption process so he is available for adoption in the immediate DFW area only. If interested in Nutmeg please email us for a pre adoption questionnaire which is the first step in the adoption process. April 9, 2023, 12:13 am

Story
Donut is about 10 yrs young and has never met a person she doesn't like.  She is a pretty tan with a silvery sheen which is hard to describe and has beautiful eyes.  It is difficult to get a picture that shows her true beauty cuz she is too busy to stay still for something as silly as a picture.  Her ears are folded down or stand straight up depending on her thought process at the time.  She has a lot of energy and would be a great playmate for kids.  She does pretty well on a leash and her foster is working on command training.  She is territorial with her treats so best to serve hers in her crate.  She would probably do better with a male dog as a playmate versus a female. There is a cat in the household that she comingles with as a safety precaution, is never left alone in the house with it. If she sounds like a dog that would fit in your family, email us for a pre adoption questionnaire.  If your home looks like a good match for her we can schedule a meet and greet with you.  Because we do home visits for all our adoptions, she is available in the immediate DFW area only.  Her adoption fee is $150 April 9, 2023, 12:13 am

Story
Marble is a petite, friendly, and outgoing girl who’s been through more than she should have. She came a Texas shelter pregnant, and sadly, her newborn puppies were euthanized before we could bring them to safety. Despite that heartbreak, Marble’s spirit shines bright. She loves people, enjoys attention, and seems to get along well with other dogs. Marble is ready to leave her past behind and start a new chapter filled with kindness, comfort, and love. If you’re looking for a sweet companion with a gentle heart and a brave spirit, Marble is waiting to meet you.Unfortunately, Marble is heartworm positive but DRNT will treat her in December and she`ll be totally fine.

Story
Coda is a friendly, eager-to-please companion who sadly lost his home in a fire and is now looking for a fresh start. He’s a well-mannered dog who knows several commands—sit, down, shake, and even speak! He’s housebroken, crate trained, and loves his chewy toys. This loyal pup enjoys being close to his people and has been accustomed to sleeping with his owner. He gets along well with small dogs and would do best in a home with children over 12. Coda has a gentle, affectionate nature and will make a wonderful, devoted friend to someone ready to give him the love and stability he deserves.
