Story
Meet Jasper! A soulful three-and-a-half-year-old Border Collie/Rottweiler mix currently in Colorado Springs, CO, whose calm, loving heart is wrapped in a stunning 70-pound merle coat. With the gentle spirit of a wise old friend and the quiet loyalty of a true companion, Jasper is the kind of dog who will melt into your side on a cozy evening and follow you room to room just to be close. Jasper thrives in peaceful surroundings and forms deep, meaningful bonds with his people. He does well around children and enjoys their company, but he would do best with calm or older kids who understand boundaries and know how to treat him gently. Loud or high-energy play can make him uneasy, so a respectful home environment will help him feel safe and content. He’s a mellow guy who doesn’t need much to be happy: a soft spot to relax, the comforting presence of his caregiver, and maybe a treat puzzle or two to keep his brain engaged. Food-motivated and clever, Jasper knows a delightful list of commands like sit, stay, paw, spin, and even “middle”, a trick that’s as cute as it sounds! He’s fully house-trained, crate-trained, and perfectly content when left alone, making him a great match for someone who works from home or has a flexible schedule. While Jasper doesn’t require intense exercise, he does enjoy slow, sniffy walks where he can take in the world at his own pace. His favorite pastime? Being in the same room as you, soaking up your presence like sunshine! After being involved in two traumatic incidents with unfamiliar dogs, one when he was a puppy and another more recently, Jasper has developed a strong reactivity to dogs he doesn't know. He may bark or lunge when he sees them, especially near fences or in close proximity, and he continues to work through that with training and patient support. That said, he’s done well with familiar dogs in controlled settings, showing that he can feel safe with the right structure and trust. He’s happiest in a home with a fenced-in yard and a caregiver who values companionship, consistency, and quiet. Loud noises can startle him, but with reassurance, he settles easily. Jasper isn’t just a dog, he’s a constant companion, a quiet presence, and a gentle soul waiting for someone to see the beauty in his sensitive heart. If you’re seeking a loyal, low-key friend who will return your care with quiet affection and soulful eyes, Jasper may just be the one waiting to share your next chapter! Story
Meet Huckleberry! A spirited two-and-a-half-year-old Mastiff/Labrador Retriever mix currently in Edmond, OK, whose essence is a whirlwind of joy wrapped in a sturdy white and gray frame and powered by endless enthusiasm. Huckleberry is a big-hearted, big-footed goofball who lives for fun, fresh air, and friends! We’re talking high-octane fetch sessions, tug-of-war tournaments, and “keep away” games that will keep you on your toes (and laughing out loud!). He’s also a big fan of car rides and pup cups, just say the word and he’s leaping in the back seat like a seasoned road tripper. People? He adores them! Kids over seven? Absolutely! He’s happiest when surrounded by love, play, and plenty of activity. At 60 pounds of pure lovable energy, Huckleberry thrives on structure and routine. He’s house and crate trained, knows commands like sit, heel, stay, and wait, and completed several weeks of training at K9 University. He’s a quick learner and will work for treats every time, though he may test your consistency now and then. Huckleberry is looking for a home where he can be the one and only furry companion. While he’s shared space with cats and dogs in the past, his playful energy and enthusiastic spirit are best suited to a home without other animals. His size and zest for life can unintentionally overwhelm smaller pets, and he truly shines when he has all the attention to himself. In a home where he doesn’t have to share the spotlight, Huckleberry thrives! Soaking up affection, engaging fully with his people, and offering his goofy charm in every moment. He’s a strong jumper, so a fenced yard is a must. He needs plenty of exercise and stimulation to keep his mind and muscles happy. Touching his paws makes him a bit uneasy, so patient, low-key vet visits are best. Are you ready to welcome a goofy, loyal, and utterly lovable companion into your life? Huckleberry is also open to a foster home, so if you're not ready to adopt but still want to make a difference, fostering could be a perfect fit. Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more!

Story
Meet Patty! A gentle eight-year-old Labrador Retriever mix currently in Spring, TX, whose warm spirit shines through her chocolate brown coat with soft white accents. Patty is the kind of companion who brings a calm, comforting presence while still holding onto a playful spark that makes every day feel a little brighter. At 48 pounds, she is a lovely medium-sized girl who enjoys tug-of-war, going for a swim, happily chewing her favorite bone, and bounding after balls with an easygoing enthusiasm. She also knows how to switch gears into a calm indoor companion, content to relax quietly by your side after a bit of fun. Patty is affectionate, friendly, and wonderfully adaptable, making her suitable for many different lifestyles and family rhythms. She has learned basic commands like sit, stay, and come, and she responds well to positive reinforcement and gentle encouragement. She is comfortable when left alone for short periods, enjoys car rides, and shares her home politely, showing a shy but respectful approach when meeting other dogs. Her loving personality truly shines in quiet moments, where she happily keeps you company without needing much more than your presence. Patty does require daily medication to manage occasional seizures, which have been well controlled with long stretches between episodes, allowing her to live a full and joyful life. She thrives in a caring environment with a compassionate caregiver who can continue her routine and offer plenty of gentle affection. With her quiet charm, playful quirks, and steady companionship, Patty is ready to share cozy evenings, soft tail wags, and sweet everyday moments with a new loving family. Great news for potential adopters, Patty’s adoption fee has been sponsored by the family! Her current family is open to long-distance adoption, transport, and even a foster-to-adopt arrangement. Story
She is sincerely the best dog I've ever had the pleasure of looking after. However, I am rarely home, and she needs more attention than I can give her. Great with other dogs and children. I got her from a coworker about two months ago. She has no health issues, all of her shots are up to date, and she is microchipped. She's 14 but has the energy of a dog half her age.

Story
Meet Inti! A radiant three-and-a-half-year-old Border Collie currently in Salida, CO, whose spirit is as expansive as the mountain trails she adores. Wrapped in a striking black and white coat and weighing about 35 pounds, this thoughtful and athletic girl brings together heart, intelligence, and a deep love for her people in a truly special way! Inti is the kind of companion who will eagerly race beside you on a mountain bike, bound joyfully across hiking trails, or splash happily during a swim, then curl up close for a cozy evening of affection. Fetch and frisbee are her absolute favorites, and her enthusiasm is contagious! She also knows an impressive list of commands like sit, shake, spin, and even weaving through your legs, showing off her clever and eager-to-learn nature. What truly sets Inti apart is how deeply she connects with her people, often leaning in for long cuddle sessions and watching your every move with bright, attentive eyes, always ready to join in whatever you are doing. Beneath her adventurous side, she is incredibly affectionate and tuned in to her trusted humans. She thrives with consistency, daily activity, and meaningful connection. When her world feels steady and secure, her loving personality shines. She is compatible with other dogs and even enjoys the company of cats, making her a wonderful companion in the right setting. Inti would flourish in a caring environment with an active, grounded guardian or a small, close-knit household. She can feel unsure around unfamiliar people and, in those moments, may nip when she is feeling protective or uncomfortable. She has nipped in the past, so she benefits from thoughtful introductions, positive reinforcement training, and a lifestyle with fewer unexpected visitors. Inti would be most suitable for a calm home without young children, where she can feel safe and understood. With guidance, patience, and understanding, she continues to grow into her best self. Healthy, spayed, house-trained, and up to date on vaccinations, Inti is ready for her next chapter filled with adventure, trust, and love. She will happily nap when left alone and eagerly greet you when it is time to play again. If you are someone who finds joy in the outdoors and values a deeply connected bond, Inti is ready to share every step, trail, and quiet moment with you! Story
Meet Dakota! A spirited eight-and-a-half-year-old Siberian Husky currently in Thornton, CO, whose essence is a delightful blend of playful charm and devoted companionship, wrapped in a stunning coat of grey and white. At about 90 pounds, Dakota may look like a snow king, but he’s really just a big goofball who loves to cuddle, play with balls, and occasionally hold a hilarious “argument” with his humans, classic Husky talk, of course! This affectionate fluffball is all about spreading joy. He adores everyone he meets, including young children, and lights up in the presence of other dogs. In fact, Dakota would absolutely love a home with a fellow playful pup to romp around with. He’s attended doggy day camp like a pro and thrives in social settings where he can burn off energy and then crash for a good snooze. He's got the independent Husky streak down pat! Dakota is fully house-trained, neutered, microchipped, and up to date on all vaccinations. He knows his commands, handles short periods alone just fine, and doesn’t have any special triggers or anxiety to worry about. While he hasn't shared a home with cats, he has shown a strong interest in chasing them on walks, so a cat-free environment would be the best fit for this curious fellow. True to his breed, Dakota has that classic Husky personality; playful, vocal, stubborn, and endlessly loyal. A home with a secure fenced yard is a must, giving him the freedom to explore safely. And because he thrives best with humans who understand the unique quirks of the Siberian Husky spirit, his next caregivers should ideally be familiar with the breed or ready to fall in love with it. Dakota is ready to bring laughter, love, and unforgettable moments to his next adventure. Are you the experienced, dog-loving family he needs, with a playful pup ready to be his partner in crime? Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com to learn more about Dakota and how you can welcome this one-of-a-kind Husky into your life!
