Story
Meet Arthur! A spirited two-and-a-half-year-old Rottsky (Rottweiler/Siberian Husky mix) from Terrell, TX, whose zest for life is as vibrant as his striking black-and-tan coat. Weighing in at 85 pounds of pure energy and personality, Arthur is a playful adventurer who thrives on long walks filled with exciting sniffs and the satisfying crunch of his favorite chew toys. This handsome guy has mastered the art of “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and “here,” showcasing his eagerness to learn and love for positive reinforcement training. Arthur is the ultimate companion for a human-centered home. He adores people and has a friendly, outgoing personality that makes him the life of any room he enters! He’s always ready to soak up all the attention (and snacks!) you’re willing to share, making training sessions both effective and enjoyable. Whether you’re unwinding after a day’s work or tackling an adventurous weekend hike, Arthur will be right by your side, keeping up with his endless energy and enthusiasm. However, Arthur’s ideal home would be one where he’s the sole pet and where children aren’t part of the household mix. He’s not a fan of other animals, and his high prey drive makes co-existing with cats or dogs stressful. Arthur’s perfect family would be an active person or couple who can offer him the physical activity and mental stimulation he needs. While he’s high-energy outdoors, Arthur is excellent when left alone for short periods and is already crate-trained and house-trained. With consistent routines, twice-daily feedings, and plenty of exercise, this affectionate, food-motivated boy will shine as your loyal, four-legged best friend! Are you ready to make room in your life for Arthur’s big heart, goofy antics, and unwavering companionship? Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com and get ready for endless adventures with this lovable Rottsky by your side!

Story
Chili is a heeler mix who was found wandering out and about by a Good Samaritan. When this kind soul offered Chili a ride, she never looked back and away they went! Chili's new friend really wanted to keep Chili, but her dog had other ideas and it soon became clear that Chili would do better in another home. Chili is microchipped and attempts were made to contact her original owner, but that person never responded. We suspect that's because Chili is deaf. However, she's also smart as a whip and eager to please. Her foster mom has been able to teach Chili many commands using sign language and would be happy to share what she knows with any potential adopter. Chili is playful and silly and loving and would be a great addition to any family that has a little time and patience to continue her training. She's been around lots of older kids at a riding stable, where she spends her days, and has been well-mannered with all of them. She has a couple of dog buddies, too, but kitties aren't her thing. Chili is happy and healthy and would love to live her best life with someone like you. Please consider opening your heart and home to this beautiful puppy who has so much to offer. You'll be glad you did. For more information, please TEXT Mary at 214-783-2060 and she'll call you back!

Story
Meet Rosie! A spirited one-and-a-half-year-old Labrador Retriever mix from Liberty Hill, TX, whose golden coat and bright white accents mirror the sunshine she brings wherever she goes. Rosie is the kind of dog who’s always ready for adventure, whether it’s bounding after a tennis ball, trotting down an off-leash trail, or galloping across a big backyard with the wind in her fur! A natural athlete with a heart full of love, Rosie thrives on outdoor playtime and would absolutely adore a bit of land or a spacious yard where she can stretch her legs and explore to her heart’s content. Playful and loyal, Rosie is also a big fan of training time—especially when tasty treats are involved! She’s already picked up handy commands like “sit,” “stay,” “down,” and “leave it,” and with her food-motivated personality, she’s eager to learn even more with positive reinforcement. When it’s time to wind down, this sweet girl is a cuddle pro, happy to snuggle up after a day full of fun! Rosie is wonderful with children of all ages and enjoys the company of other dogs, especially those her own size who share her zest for play. She would be a fantastic match for a family with other large dogs or anyone simply looking for a loyal, four-legged best friend. While she handles short periods alone just fine and is crate-trained, she truly shines when she’s part of the daily rhythm of a home—sharing time, space, and love with her people. Her one quirk? Vacuums and electric house tools are not her jam—they’re a little too noisy and unpredictable for her liking. But hey, aren’t we all allowed our pet peeves? Fully vaccinated, microchipped, spayed, and house-trained, Rosie is ready to leap into her next chapter! Could your home be the one where she’ll run, romp, and rest her head? Reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com and tell us—can you picture Rosie as your new adventure buddy?

Story
Meet Keiko! A serene eight-and-a-half-year-old Akita from Georgetown, TX, whose gentle spirit is wrapped in a stunning tan coat and a soft, dark-masked face that radiates warmth and wisdom. Keiko is the kind of dog who turns a walk into a peaceful stroll of joy, a patio into a front-row seat to life, and a living room into a sanctuary of calm. She’s a true gentle giant, tipping the scales at 103 pounds but with the heart and grace of a butterfly. Whether she’s quietly observing the world from her favorite sunlit spot or gently taking treats from your hand, Keiko’s tender soul shines through in everything she does. This sweet girl adores people—young, old, and everyone in between! She’s wonderfully social, getting along effortlessly with other dogs, and she’s proven to be incredibly loving and respectful with the elderly caregivers she’s grown up with. Her favorite pastimes include leisurely walks, casual people-watching sessions from the patio, and playing with her little plush toys (which, by the way, she treats like delicate treasures—never a rip or tear in sight)! Though she hasn’t been crate trained, Keiko has free rein of the house and handles it like a true lady. She’s also been successfully boarded, so with a spacious enough kennel, she adapts just fine. While Keiko was diagnosed with Cushing’s disease earlier this year, she’s stable and doing great on her one-a-day capsule, which she happily takes with her food. Her current guardians will even send her off with several months of her medication to help ease the transition. Keiko is fully house-trained, spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all vaccinations. She’s not much of a barker—unless someone knocks on the door, in which case she’ll let you know with a polite alert. Her pet insurance is top-tier and can be transferred to her new family, adding extra peace of mind. Are you the kindhearted soul who can offer this big teddy bear a loving, peaceful home and continue the beautiful, gentle life she’s known? If your heart’s feeling a tug, reach out to adopt@joyfulpets.com—Keiko might just be the perfect new addition to your family!

Story
Jade was found at about 3 months old wandering the side of a highway in Conroe, TX along with 2 other pups her age. She was found by a family friend and within a day, we took her home. That was October 2021. From the start she has been playful, energetic and so loving. We welcomed two kids in 2022 and 2023 and she has always been so gentle and calm with them. Our 2nd child has come down with severe allergies and is our reason for coming to the decision of rehoming. Jade loves to be outside, watching and chasing squirrels. She can definitely be used to hunt as she is very trainable. We have no complaints about Jade, she makes a great companion that loves attention and loves to snuggle on the bed under a soft blanket.
