Story
Gus is a fantastic dog. He is very playful and as sweet as can be and is an absolute love-bug. He's grown up around other pets, both dogs and cats and has always acted great around them, but more importantly our two children grew up around him as well and he has always been great with our children, including our son who climbs all over him. Gus would be a great friend to a loving home.

Story
Bailey is the sweetest dog I’ve ever had. She’s the most gentle and laid back. She was born March of 2017, and has a lot of life left in her! She still has a puppy heart, is healthy, loves walks, car rides, playing outside, and cuddling up for a nap. She’s great with children and other smaller dogs. We have 3 kids and 4 dogs total and just can’t give her the attention she deserves. She is the smallest out of all of our dogs and gets picked on by them. Recently we had a scare where they teamed up on her and I don’t want her to ever be in that situation again. As much as I love her and will miss her, I want her to go to a home where she is safe and loved like she deserves to be. She’s never been aggressive towards any dogs or humans. She’s never been around cats so I’m unsure of how she’d handle that one! Please message me with any other questions!

Hickory Creek, TX
Size
(when grown) Small 25 lbs (11 kg) or less
Details
Good with kids, Good with dogs, House-trained,
Story
Bagel is in need of a new home. The kids are grown and unable to take her with them. Parent’s schedule and travel aren’t conducive to providing her what she needs. Small, short hair dog that has very little shedding. She will bark when someone knocks on your door, but she’ll stop as soon as you go to open it (good for strangers without overdoing it as some dogs do). She loves to go on walks or ride in the car. Good companion for anyone looking.

Story
Luna is a good looking dog and will be happy in a new loving home. Typical of Husky’s, she will “talk” once in awhile. The kids have grown and gone now. The parent’s schedules and travel aren’t conducive to her well being. Luna is pretty well mannered and will be a great addition to your home. Luna is 6 years old.

Story
I have had blue for 5 years now. She is one of the sweetest dogs I have ever met. She loves people and tries to act as a lap dog especially if you are sad. I hate to give her up but due to now working 2 jobs and not able to be home enough I feel she would be better in a new home.

Story
Pastel is all brindle, with white stripe down her face, She grew up with a rescue cat and many other dogs of all ages!. She will sit, lay down, walk on leash, and is treadmill trained. She loves to give hugs with her huge paws. She listens well, and I have seen and been told by trainers, she is the smartest dog of her litter. She takes time to get to know you, she is curious, and often seems worried. We are working on her confidence around the loud weird noises of the world; for weeks she hated to walk near the train, but is doing better. She is slow to get to know you... unless she loves you and it all comes naturally with no reason. She needs extra time to potty and to not be rushed. She will not come quickly to someone she doesn't know, so extra time is needed to fall in love, but the love comes fast with the right leader. She sleeps still and with a group of dogs cuddling next to you in bed and is quiet - hardly making a peep. She does well with all ages of dogs and cats. I would trust her with all animals. This sweet, young 40 (ish) pound pup is a pleasure to be around and with the right leader listens so well. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $300.00 and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time to meet. Pastel is participating in the DFW Rescue Me guest dog program, so ongoing care and custody is provided by her foster, not by DFWRM.April 22, 2026, 1:21 pm
