Story
Rosie is a lovable three-year-old lab and pit mix, adopted a year ago from Hickory Creek Animal Shelter. It breaks my heart to rehome her, but it’s what is best for Rosie. I am moving out of the country, and putting her on a flight in the cargo hold would cause her irreparable psychological trauma. Rosie suffered some trauma with her prior owner and is anxious, so sudden loud sounds are scary and she has separation anxiety, which requires daily medication. With her meds she is goofy, food motivated, a ball chasing fiend and is becoming a cuddle bug. She loves water! Rosie loves her human, is skeptical of men at first, and is a great guard dog. She has been around children before with no issues but has never lived with kids. She has dog and cat brothers that she gets along very well with, but would maybe do best in a one dog home where she gets all the attention. She is crate trained and knows basic commands. She requires daily exercise. Rosie will truly be a wonderful best friend!

Story
Marmalade is a 7 year old, 60 lb, Boxer/Pittie mix. She&#39s dog friendly and house/crate trained. Marmalade came to us with a litter of puppies after they&#39d been dumped in a small south Dallas shelter without much exposure. Her puppies have all found homes and now it&#39s mamas time. She has completed heartworm treatment now and feels better than ever. Marmalade is looking for a quiet home without young kids or heavy activity. The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00 + tax and that includes their vaccinations, spay or neuter, rabies and microchip. Our dogs are also heartworm negative (or we will cover their treatment). To start the process please visit our website and fill out the adoption application (www.dfwrescueme.org) and from there the foster family can answer any questions and arrange a time toApril 19, 2024, 9:21 pm

Story
Kingsley is a very sweet pup with a big head, big heart, and the sweetest face. After he had been on the run for quite some time, it was easy to see that Kingsley just wanted a place to be loved and doted on. He loves to snuggle on the couch or in bed and loves to give big kisses. Kingsley loves showing how to sit and shake, especially for a treat! Kingley’s nickname could be “Piggy” because whenever he gets excited (mainly over meal time) he loves to “oink” and snort while wagging his tail and doing tippy tappys- it is absolutely adorable! He lovessss his bones and loves whenever he can lay in his bed to chew on them. Thunderstorms are not Kingsley’s favorite- but he is very appreciative of hugs and loving from humans when they come through. Kingsley loves to go outside on the leash to go on walks, runs, and to explore! He is house training, fully vetted, and loves any and all people. We do believe Kingsley was not socialized much with other dogs, so it would be best for him to be in a home where he would be the only pet. If you feel your home might be the right place for this wonderful dog, the place to start is with the adoption application found at www.dfwrescueme.org/adopt.  Once submitted, the foster will contact you to tell you more, and to arrange a meeting! The adoption fee for all of our dogs is $250.00, which includes their vaccinations and spay/neuter. Kinglsey is participating in the DFW Rescue Me Guest Dog Program, so custody and ongoing care are provided by the foster, not by DFWRM.April 19, 2024, 9:21 pm

Story
Please read all the way to the end before applying for Koko: Meet Koko an about a 4-5 year old Pit Bull Terrier, potentially a Staffordshire Terrier, who weighs around 50-60 lbs. Koko is housebroken & crate trained, walks well on a leash & loves to go for walks & car rides. She has never met a stranger & is loving life, is ready to go on any adventure with her family. Koko loves kids, although her energy may be too much for the little one, so kids 8 years and older are best. She loves to cuddle on the couch or in bed, she actually sleeps in her 13 year old human foster-sister's bed every night & loves to go for meetings with her friends . Koko is a flirt as she does best with bigger MALE dogs but is NOT one for female dogs of any size. Koko was adopted 3 years ago & lived in a loving home for the past 3 years - but had to be surrendered following some unexpected life situations when the family could no longer keep her. She is currently fostered with a family that has four other dogs.
