💔 Five Years Is Far Too Long 💔 Meet Pippi. Pippi is an 8-year-old, 47-pound sweetheart who has spent an unbelievable amount of her life waiting for someone to choose her. She has been in boarding since February 7, 2021. That's more than five years of watching other dogs leave while she stays behind. Despite everything, Pippi hasn't given up. She is a graduate of our Canine Good Citizen program and is one of the most well-trained dogs in our rescue. She knows sit, place, leave it, shake, and drop it. She loves her people, loves her toys, and absolutely lights up when a ball comes out. Pippi is fully house-trained and would thrive in a home where she can finally be part of a family. She adores her people and does well with male dogs, but she needs a home without female dogs or cats. Like many dogs who have spent years in a kennel environment, Pippi can get excited when she sees squirrels, cats, or bikes on walks. She has worked extensively with trainers and continues to make progress. What she really needs now is a chance to practice all those skills in a home of her own. Think about it. Since 2021, Pippi has watched seasons change, holidays come and go, puppies grow up, and hundreds of other dogs find families. Through it all, she has waited. And waited. And waited. We know her person is out there. ✔️ Canine Good Citizen Graduate ✔️ House-Trained ✔️ Loves People ✔️ Does Well With Male Dogs ✔️ Loves Toys and Fetch ✔️ Ready for a Real Home ❌ No Female Dogs ❌ No Cats Pippi has done everything we've asked of her. She has learned, grown, trained, and waited patiently. Now it's our turn to help her find what she's been missing for far too long: a family. If you can't adopt, please consider fostering. Even a temporary home would mean more to Pippi than you can imagine. 📧 adopt@dallasdogrrr.org Let's make sure Pippi doesn't spend another year waiting. ❤️

Meet Scout City: The Handsome Hound Looking for His Forever Home! Introducing Scout City, our nearly six-year-old hound mix who's ready to find a loving forever home. Weighing in at a sturdy 87 pounds, Scout is a handsome and friendly boy who has faced a lot in his life but remains full of love and loyalty. Scout was born in our care in 2019 after his mom was brought to the shelter. Sadly, his mom couldn't leave the shelter due to protocol and contracted distemper, leaving Scout as the sole survivor of his litter. Adopted as a puppy, Scout's journey took a tough turn when he was abandoned by his adopter at the shelter following a breakup. Since then, Scout has been living in boarding, waiting patiently for his chance at a stable, loving home. Scout can be a little timid in new situations, but once he relaxes, his whole face lights up with joy. He loves toys and treats, and his happy-go-lucky nature makes him a delightful family dog. Scout does well with other dogs and enjoys both playing with canine friends and having quiet time by himself. This speckled dude is one of our favorites. He's a large, good-looking guy with a heart full of love to give. Although he has some separation anxiety, Scout's friendly disposition and desire to be a loyal companion make him a wonderful addition to any family willing to give him the time and understanding he needs. Scout is looking for a forever home where he can finally experience the stability and love he deserves. If you're searching for a loving, playful, and loyal companion who will bring joy to your life, Scout is your guy. Adopt Scout City today and give him the forever home he's been dreaming of! All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Meet Graham: The Adventure-Loving Smoocher! Introducing Graham, our five-year-old bundle of joy who has been patiently waiting for his forever home since 2019. Weighing in at 54 pounds, Graham is a heart full of love and a true companion who enjoys the company of both humans and dogs. Graham has excellent leash skills and is a joy to walk and explore with. He's potty trained, does well in his crate, and is always up for playtime with other dogs in the open area. One of his favorite activities is hiking, and he loves nothing more than embarking on an adventure and discovering new trails. An intelligent dog, Graham thrives with mental stimulation as well as physical exercise, making him a great fit for a home that enjoys engaging their furry friend with enrichment activities. Although Graham might be a little shy at first, once he gets to know you, he's all in. With big smiles and a gorgeous, affectionate personality, he'll eagerly roll over for belly rubs and shower you with love and loyalty. Graham is a smoochy dog who loves to snuggle and be close to his people. Graham has a particular fondness for his toys and treats and prefers not to share them-perhaps stemming from past experiences. With patient understanding and love, he will learn to trust and share more comfortably. For now, he enjoys his toys too much to part with them, adding to his charming quirks. Graham is looking for a forever home where he can be cherished and given the chance to thrive. If you're looking for an affectionate, adventurous, and intelligent companion who will bring endless joy and loyalty into your life, Graham is your dog. Don't wait-fill out an application today and let Graham become a beloved member of your family! Story
Hi, I’m Millie! I’m a medium-sized girl with a big personality and an even bigger heart. My favorite place in the world is right next to my people. If you’re looking for a loyal sidekick who loves cuddles, kisses, and quality time, I might just be your perfect match. I love playing with other dogs and currently have a large dog friend that I adore. I’m smart, treat-motivated, and always excited to learn new things. My foster says I’m the sweetest girl ever, but I do have one funny habit...I give the most dramatic sighs and stretches you’ve ever seen! I’m also completely fascinated by animals on TV and will happily sit and watch along with you. I’m crate trained, potty trained, great with kids and other dogs, and ready to find a family of my own. I’ve been waiting patiently, and I can’t wait to meet the lucky people I get to love forever. Love, Millie 🐾 All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. Puppies adopted under the age of five months require a spay/neuter contract, and all dogs are required to be spayed by six months unless otherwise medically noted. Our dogs are currently on heartworm preventative. Puppies receive 3 to 4 rounds of vaccinations depending on their age, and adults receive two rounds unless they've been with us longer than a year, in which case they receive the booster update. Hi, This is Thay. He was rescued from a hoarding situation. Was adopted and returned at no fault of his own. This is his chance to find his real furever home. He'd do best in a home with another dog that loves to play. Older kids/no kids. He's actually a low maintenance and easy going dog. He doesn't get into stuff nor chew things. He's around 30ish lbs. Crate/potty trained. Pretty good on leash. He's such a sweetie 💕 Thay came from a difficult hoarding situation, but he’s made incredible progress and has adapted beautifully to family life. He gets along great with our pets and is a total love bug once he feels comfortable. While he can be cautious around new people and unfamiliar animals, his gentle and affectionate personality really shines through. He’s fully potty trained and crate trained, and one of his cutest traits is his happy little hops when he gets excited. He would do best in a home with older children or no kids, where he can continue to build confidence and soak up all the love he deserves.
