Meet Scout City: The Handsome Hound Looking for His Forever Home! Introducing Scout City, our nearly five-year-old hound mix who's ready to find a loving forever home. Weighing in at a sturdy 87 pounds, Scout is a handsome and friendly boy who has faced a lot in his life but remains full of love and loyalty. Scout was born in our care in 2019 after his mom was brought to the shelter. Sadly, his mom couldn't leave the shelter due to protocol and contracted distemper, leaving Scout as the sole survivor of his litter. Adopted as a puppy, Scout's journey took a tough turn when he was abandoned by his adopter at the shelter following a breakup. Since then, Scout has been living in boarding, waiting patiently for his chance at a stable, loving home. Scout can be a little timid in new situations, but once he relaxes, his whole face lights up with joy. He loves toys and treats, and his happy-go-lucky nature makes him a delightful family dog. Scout does well with other dogs and enjoys both playing with canine friends and having quiet time by himself. This speckled dude is one of our favorites. He's a large, good-looking guy with a heart full of love to give. Although he has some separation anxiety, Scout's friendly disposition and desire to be a loyal companion make him a wonderful addition to any family willing to give him the time and understanding he needs. Scout is looking for a forever home where he can finally experience the stability and love he deserves. If you're searching for a loving, playful, and loyal companion who will bring joy to your life, Scout is your guy. Adopt Scout City today and give him the forever home he's been dreaming of! All Dallas Dog adoptable pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines upon finalizing adoption. You can complete an application or view all the adoptable pets on our website at http://dallasdog.org/adopt. Upon receiving your application, please allow us 2-3 business days to review and process.

Meet Andre! He really loves his treats and he's a brawler in the streets. Full of affection and loyalty, this mini mustachioed male will be a wonderful addition to a patient, quiet home with no young kids or high-energy dogs. Living with Andre, you can expect Schnauzer swagger, an ardent foodie, and plenty of cuddles. Andre identifies as an introvert with fear of abandonment. Leaving for 5 min or 5 hours are the same to Andre - he has canine perception of space-time. He will sing your neighbors the special "My Person Is Gone Forever" song from his album "All By Myself" if you leave him home unattended. Andre loves: YOU Andre Cuddling Walks Food - esp. chicken Toys - all toys belong to Andre Playing chase while you try to get his toy Barking at people in cars - must heckin' protec! Andre hates: When you run out of treats Being fed late Fetch - this is for lesser creatures Strangers - why do they even? Children and energetic dogs - calm down! Taylor Swift's Red Album - she knows why Like any furry diva, Andre is proudly independent. Do you hate making small talk with neighbors and strangers? Andre will happily chase them away. NOT TODAY, KAREN! If you're patient and kind, Andre will be a whimsical and wonderful companion. Bonus if you're also co-dependent. He's looking for the perfect match to share a lifetime of cuddles and love.

Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Look at this proud boy. He is the first to be awarded the Canine Good Citizen award through the rescue. He has shown his smarts and skills throughout the process and we are so proud of him! For the four months we worked with Nick on the Canine Good Citizen test items, he was quick and eager to learn. He passed his 10-challenge test with ease. Nick loves humans with his whole heart, has a somewhat obessive relationship with balls and a strong dislike of cats. He has healed physically from his past and continues to blossom in other aspects of life. He is so sweet and LOVES cuddles. Nick is a Velcro baby to his "person" and loves all humans in general. In turn, every human who meets Nick loves him. With proper intros, Nick has shown to do well with even tempered, playful dogs. This boy would love a family to call his own. Will you let this boy show you what a good, smart boy he is! He has waited far too long for his furever home. Nick can be a little unsure at first, but once he realizes he is in a safe place, he comes into his true loving and playful self. The right family would be so rewarded with Nick's presence in their lives. For more information, you can email adopt@dallasdogrrr.org.
