Story
Age: 11 years Weight: 68 lbs Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: No Good with kids: No Activity level: Low Shedding: Moderate Vocal Level: Moderate Training: Basic, House, Leash, Crate  Sweet Coco has been with us since 2017. We first met Coco when we helped get her spayed and vaccinated through our outreach program. Unfortunately, her owner got sick and surrendered her. We think Coco is a lab/pitbull mix. She dreams of a calm, relaxed life with good, loving people. She needs a home without small children because their energy makes her uneasy. She's good company for calm dogs, medium to large size.  She's more of a companion for other dogs than a playmate.  Coco is a softie when it comes to her "babies". She likes to carry around a stuffed animal with her. She really loves all toys and plays well alone.  She enjoys peaceful naps on the hammock, leisurely walks, and just hanging around the house with her friends. She is a funny girl who is sure to fill your home with joy and laughter!  Coco is spayed, microchipped and fully vaccinated.  She is also potty trained, leash and crate trained.  She’s ready to have a family of her own and will make an amazing companion Please email placement@duckteam6.org if you are interested in making her a member of your family. .June 30, 2026, 12:05 am

Story
Alma thought she had found her forever home, but life had other plans. When her owner was incarcerated, Alma found herself back in rescue through no fault of her own. Since returning, she's shown signs that make us suspect that she may have experienced some abuse or neglect along the way, but despite it all, her sweet spirit is still there waiting to shine through. She can be timid at first and needs patience, kindness and a calm environment where she feels safe. We are grateful she is back with us where she is safe, loved and given the chance to heal. Now, she is looking for a real forever family who understands trust takes time, but the reward is worth it.

Story
Meet Katniss 💛 This brave mama has already lived a lifetime of survival. Just days ago, she was doing everything she could to protect her two puppies at a new home construction site—always on alert, unsure of the world around her, but never giving up on her babies. While her puppies were safely rescued, Katniss was too scared to come close. So we called in a trapper to help… and just two hours after the trap was set, she walked right in—as if she knew her life was about to change. Since then, everything has been new. A safe place to rest. A full belly. A trip to the vet. And finally, a foster home where she can begin to decompress. It’s a lot for a girl who’s likely never known kindness like this before, so she’s understandably scared right now. But here’s the beautiful part… even through her fear, Katniss is showing us who she really is. She has not a single aggressive bone in her body. She allowed gentle pets, leaned into the touch, and started to relax—just a little. Her sweetness is already shining through, and you can see how badly she wants to trust. Give her a few days, a little patience, and a lot of love, and we know Katniss is going to blossom into an incredible, devoted companion. She’s absolutely stunning, inside and out—and after everything she’s been through, she deserves nothing but the very best life has to offer. From surviving… to finally being safe—Katniss’s story is just beginning. ✨

Story
Meet Panda, named for his distinct panda face eyes! This charming young boy may be in his “teenage” phase, but he’s already proven just how resilient and loving he can be. Panda might not look much like a Great Pyrenees, but he was found alongside sweet Tabitha, surviving on their own with no one to rely on but each other. Now safe in the DFW area, Panda is showing his true colors—sweet, loyal, and ready to find a family of his own. He shares an especially close bond with Tabitha, and their connection is something special. In fact, we even suspect Panda could be one of her pups. Panda would love a home filled with companionship, patience, and love as he continues to grow into the amazing dog he’s meant to be. Ready to welcome Panda into your life?
