He enjoys playing outside and seems to be very well trained following commands to sit, come, or wait. He enjoys his chew toys but loves rubs from his human even more. He loves visitors and will jump and run to meet them. He likes treats and to squeeze into the tiniest spaces. Harley is a really tough cookie and the very definition of tiny but mighty. He was found 7 weeks ago on the highway with two injuries including a flesh wound which has since been treated and completely healed and a shoulder injury. He was seen by a vet after being rescued where he received his care. He has since gained strength in his left leg back, is healing and on the road to recovery. Harley is neutered and now weighs 14 lbs. The status of vaccinations are unknown but he has undergone a check-up that cleared him of any health concerns and has since had his shoulder evaluated for any signs of trauma or pain and was cleared for that as well. Her name is Zeta (pronounced Zay-ta) and she will be 2 years old 10/18/23. She loves to play fetch! Oh! And the ice maker lol! She comes running like a gazelle when she hears the ice maker. She plays well with big and small dogs. We have one big American Bulldog and one miniature schnauzer in the house.  She needs more quality time with an owner. She is kid friendly with all ages (we are a family of 7). She is well-behaved and listens and is a bouncy happy girl. She is crate and house trained. She is current on her shots and takes monthly heart worm, flea and tick prevention. She is not yet spayed, but is on my to do list. Only serious inquiries please September 30, 2023, 12:39 am

** COURTESY POST ** ** This animal is NOT at the Rowlett Animal Shelter, so please do not inquire with them ** ** For information contact Leonora Lowery; (972)802 9422  ** My name is Leonora Lowery and my daughter and I found a dog tied to a stop sign by a railroad track.  We assessed that he was not aggressive before removing the chains and putting him in our car and we brought him home. Once home, we put a harness on him and attempted to walk him in to a crate that was already set up for him by my son. The dog (we have named Oreo) would not leave the gravel drive of our home and we realized that he was hesitant to step on the grass and we can only deduce that he had never seen grass before. Where he was tied was also all gravel. We made several attempts to find him a home but time and resources limit us as to how much exposure we can give him.  We have a vet tech friend that estimated his age at about 1 1/2 - 2 years old and possibly a great pyr/ st. bernard mix. He is about 80 lbs, not neutered.  He is a sweet dog and has acclimated to the crate when indoors but desperately needs a home. We cannot keep him as our own dogs are all seniors and some in delicate health - namely our Anatolian Shepherd that is 100 lbs and has a rod replacing his shoulder. Oreo is still very much puppy and can be quite rambunctious and has already run into him once causing a little discomfort to him.  The other dogs here are smaller and do not like him because they find his size and energy intimidating so Oreo is sadly only able to be outside on his own and when we can play with him. I cannot bring myself to take him to a shelter as I feel he has been thru enough trauma.      September 30, 2023, 12:39 am

Currently 9 months old. Mom is Staffordshire bull terrier, Dad is an American bully. Dallas is current on all vaccinations and is not neutered as he has  cryptorchidism.  He is  potty trained, crate trained, he knows his name, sit, stay, down, and loves walks. Unsure of cats but he gets along with other dogs pretty well, wouldn’t recommend around smaller children since he doesn’t understand his size and loves to jump.  He is a gentle giant who loves all the attention he can get. Dallas  is a very active  energetic dog, so I want to be sure his new home can give what his breed requires.  September 30, 2023, 12:39 am

** COURTESY POST ** ** This animal is NOT at the Rowlett Animal Shelter, so please do not inquire with them ** ** For information contact Tracy Johnson; 214-697-7362 ** Meet Scout (aka Muffin.  The shelter called her Muffin, but we felt Scout was a better fit.  Feel free to re-name her when she is yours).  This soft-coated, beautiful dog is being fostered by our son in who is a college student in Waco, but Scout frequently visits us in Rowlett and will be with us most of July.  Scout is believed to be an Australian Shepherd mix, approximately 2 years old.  She is energetic, smart and loves to cuddle.  She is trained to sit & fetch, loves to go on walks and can entertain herself with her toys.   I cannot say enough wonderful things about Scout and would love to keep her, however we recommend that Scout goes to a home where she will be the only pet. She LOVES humans, smiles when she sees them, but Scout does not get along with other dogs (of any size) or cats.   Our male dog was incompatible with Scout as he can be skittish and aggressive.   After getting to know this sweet girl, we are confident she will be an amazing pet for the right person or family.  Scout is a true angel with our special needs nephew. Actually, everyone Scout meets falls in love with her, especially the neighborhood kids.   She is also great in the car (road trips or running errands)  she’s a little doll in public stores.   Also, she rarely has an accident in the house and is crate trained. Scout has been spayed.  At this time, she is heartworm positive, but scheduled for treatment in Waco on July 17th.   We will take care of this expense and will provide heartworm prevention medication for one year. We are committed to finding her a home as the Waco shelter does euthanize and we are not going to allow that to happen. She loves giving kisses and cuddles. Her two favorite games are tug of war with her rope bone or playing in the backyard with her foster family’s dog. She is wonderful with kids, as she is a good mix of playfulness and calm. She sleeps great at night! She is very smart and has picked up on certain daily routines very well. Chewie loves companionship and being close to others, so would fit in perfectly at a house with another dog or with an owner who wants an affectionate puppy.
