Story
Marley is the sweetest girl. She loves to cuddle with you and take naps. When she first came to us she was timid and shy. The poor girl wasn’t sure of anything and would scare easily. However, as the days go on she is coming out of her shell and we are seeing more of her personality. She always wants to be with our two other GSPs and she loves playing with them. She is learning how to play ruff and wrestle with them. She is more on the submissive side. She learns fast though and is respectful of them. When her two foster siblings are done playing they let her know and she is fine going off and laying on her bed to chew her kong. She LOVES her kong, especially if you put some treats or peanut butter in it. She appears to be food and treat motivated so we have been using treats to work on manners / training. She hasn’t been much of a barker but occasionally she discovers her voice and then likes to let out a few barks. She makes the cutest noise when she yawns. She is doing great on potty training. She sleeps in her kennel at night and usually goes to bed around nine. She is usually good for 6 hours and then will whine if she needs to go outside. Then she goes right back in her kennel and sleeps until 7. She is learning to stand in front of the back door when she needs to go out. She occasionally gets too busy playing and forgets and has an accident but they are becoming less and less. She would do great in any type of home. She does great with our kids. It might take her awhile to warm up to new people but once she does she is the biggest lover. She is more confident when she is with our dogs so another dog in the home would be great!  ##2281350##

Story
WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING ANY NEW APPLICATIONS FOR BROWNING.  We are currently processing all the applications that we received for Browning and our adoption coordinator will be in contact with you as they are processed.   Browning is a very smart, sweet, affectionate boy who is timid at first but warms up to people in a short amount of time He is friendly with dogs and follows their lead while learning what they teach him. He will probably do best in a home with at least one other dog or with people who are home most of the time because he does not like being alone. He does have separation anxiety when left alone which translates to excessive barking, he is not destructive but does enjoy a good toy shredding if given the chance. Browning appears to be housebroken and he is also good with cats. He is e-collar trained, loves to play ball, really enjoys swimming, has a great appetite, loves vegetables as snacks, is tolerant of nail clipping, is crate trained (sleeps through the night soundly), rides well in the car and is overall pretty obedient.  He doesn't know many commands like sit and stay but is responsive to positive reinforcement/redirection, and is very trainable.  He appears timid of loud, startling noises. He doesn't have great prey drive when it comes to birds and squirrels.  While he will require some training, he is going to be a great companion and a best friend. Browning is a velcro dog who really wants to be near his human at all times. Browning is currently intact and will need to be neutered after he turns a year old when his growth plates have fully closed.  This will be the required as part of his adoption and the rescue will cover a set amount towards his neuter. ##2376822##

Story
Bear is a wonderful dog needing a special forever family.  He craves affection right from the start and offers all his love in return.  He is a bit shy at first meeting but warms up quickly when you are patient with him. He is a velcro dog so lan on spending most of your time with him the first few days.  He has separation anxiety in the beginning until he learns your routine.  Keep him on a regular schedule.   Bear is smart and a quick learner, he knows here, sit, heal, no, off, drop it.  He is working down and stay with his foster family. He has great prey drive and has pointed small birds and squirrels in the yard.  He is an excellent retriever and easily give up the toy.  Good hunting potential but has not been tested around gun shots. He will bark at strangers but otherwise barrking is not a concern. He rides well in the car both in and out of the crate.  He is fine around other dogs and children, we don't know about cats but think they may be a problem at least at first.  Bear loves his toys and usually is carrying one around all the time. He is crate trained and house trained. He shows no aggression even when taking food away. He has a good appetite and will eat anything off your counter, even lettuce.  There is no food guarding and he is learning not to rush the bowl.  He walks well on the leash, best with a harness. Bear would do well with an active family or indvidual and with another dog in the household. ##2375750##

Story
WE ARE NO LONGER ACCEPTING ANY NEW APPLICATIONS FOR ROSIE.  We are currently processing all the applications that we received for Rosie and our adoption coordinator will be in contact with you as they are processed. Meet Rosie! Rosie is a spunky, energetic 9-month-old German Shorthaired Pointer who is ready to find her forever home! This medium-sized bundle of joy is full of playful energy and loves to keep busy—whether it's chasing after a tennis ball, playing tug of war, or chewing on her favorite antler. If you’re looking for a dog who’s always up for fun, Rosie is your girl! Rosie is an active pup who’s not afraid to show her love for the outdoors. She’s a natural-born hunter who loves pointing at birds and squirrels, and she’ll happily let you know when she spots one through the window! A true adventurer, Rosie would thrive with an active family who enjoys outdoor activities and is ready to give her plenty of playtime to burn off that puppy energy. This smart girl is also working hard on her training and is making great strides! Rosie is e-collar trained and knows commands like sit and still working on stay/wait (when the front door or garage door is open), and leave it. Her recall is about 85% without the e-collar, and she’s crate trained—she happily sleeps in her crate at night and can be left for up to 8 hours during the day (though she will bark when it’s potty time!). She’s a quick learner and eager to please, so she’s ready to keep working on her skills with a family who’s ready to invest in her training. Rosie is good with both adults and kids (though she can get a little too playful with kids under the age of 8) and gets along well with other dogs once introduced properly. She does have a bit of a dominant personality, but as long as she gets the right guidance and structure, she’ll be a great companion to her future furry siblings. Rosie is looking for a family who is as active and fun-loving as she is—someone who can provide her with plenty of outdoor time, adventures, and a loving, structured home. Could that be you? ##2375752##

Story
Meet Tamara – A Gentle Soul Looking for a Loving HomeHi there, my name is Tamara, but my foster mom calls me TamTam, and I love that name! I’m a very special girl with a gentle heart, and while I can be shy at first, I’m slowly learning what it means to feel safe and loved. Before I was rescued, life wasn’t so great, and it made me a little fearful. But thanks to my wonderful foster family, I’m beginning to trust again. It took me some time to warm up, but now I feel safe with my foster parents and my GSP foster siblings, Maddie Mae and Forrest Fire. I especially love snuggling up with Maddie Mae in a big, comfy bed—something I never had before.Loud noises and raised voices still make me a little nervous, but I find comfort in quiet moments, especially watching TV with my family. Just recently, I started taking treats from hands, and I’ve learned that hands aren’t scary—they give belly rubs and snuggles, which I now happily roll over for!I’m a very good girl in my crate and go in all by myself. I absolutely love food (except carrots—yuck!), and my foster dad says I’m a great listener. I ride really well in the car, and I walk nicely on a leash without pulling. I’m even working on giving kisses—my foster mom makes silly kissy noises to help me practice!I still need a patient and loving family who understands that I may take a little time to open up, but once I do, I’ll be the most loyal and grateful companion. Could you be the one to give me my forever home?Love,TamTam  ##2274571##

Story
Meet Benelli.  She came into rescue from a humane society where she was a stray that was not reclaimed.  She came in with two male GSPs that were adopted out quickly. The shelter reached out to WGSPR for assistiance since Benelli was on the timid side. Here is what her foster family has to say about Benelli in the few weeks they have gotten to know her: The more she realizes this home is safe, Benelli makes progress each day of becoming more confident – more tail wags, more doggy kisses. Although Benelli is still timid, she absolutely loves being petted. Her favorite is when her foster family puts peanut butter in her Kong toy and she LOVES plush toys. Benelli has really cute dog lips that get stuck in her teeth in the most adorable way. She has proven to be solidly potty-trained. They are continuing to work on walking on a leash, she has a tendency to lunge on the leash when startled, sees an animal, or wants to run with the resident dog. She’s a strong girl! Her foster family is also working on basic commands, and this is where the fact that she likes kids comes in handy because she’s interested in learning their tricks.  While the resident dog is older, Benelli does try to play with her and wants to be best friends with her. ##2373786##
