Story
Name: Ruby Age: 8 months Breed: Terrier mix Size: 33.8 lbs Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 Contact: transport@hssm.org Ruby is a 8-month-old Terrier mix who recently came into our care as an owner surrender due to having to many animals and is now looking for her forever home. She is the last of her litter left with us and we think it's her time to shine! Her picture shows her sad puppy face so you'll be tempted to come and get her so she can show you her happy face. She is still learning confidence and true to her breed she loves to talk to you. She is shy at first but warms up instantly if you sit down with her. She will quickly come and curl up contentedly in your arms. She would love a home with another dog but she would do just fine on her own as well. She knows how to sit and we think she is mostly housebroken! If you are looking for a young pup with great potential, she may be the one for you! She is up to date on all vaccines, prevention, microchipped, heartworm negative, and will be spayed before adoption.

Linda is a 2 year old Pit/Terrier mix who recently came into our care as a stray. She did have an owner but sadly they did not come for her. Now she awaits YOU to be her family and give her a second chance at forever. She is the sweetest girl who adores everyone she has met, and loves to be cuddled. She is unique in her markings as her face looks just like the mask from Phantom of the Opera. Linda is up to date on vaccines, prevention, microchipped, dog friendly, and is already spayed. She is Heartworm Positive, but don't let that turn you away from such a sweet girl who deserves to live the rest of her life happy and healthy. Story
Name: Izzy Age: 1 year Breed: Retriever mix Size: 35.2 lbs Adoption Application: https://forms.gle/nuKXoMu6gjS5DhFm8 Contact: transport@hssm.org Izzy is a one-year-old Retriever mix who found her way into our care as a stray in July 2025. She’s now spent five months in the shelter. Izzy is as sweet as they come. She loves spending time with the people around her, but she’s also wonderfully independent — happy to quietly relax nearby or entertain herself with a toy. She’s great with cats, dogs, and she especially enjoys snuggling up with canine friends for a cozy nap. She recently resided in a foster home and her foster mom describes her as one of the easiest dogs to have in the house. She’s fully potty trained, doesn’t need to be kenneled, and will spend the day happily snoozing on the bed or playing with her toys until you return. She’s gentle with her toys, often napping with them for comfort, but she’ll also happily play a round of fetch when you’re up for it. Listening is where Izzy truly shines. She’s eager to please and already knows several cues including sit, stay, paw, leave it, heel, and takes treats gently. She loves to be outdoors, but only if you are by her side. She loves enrichment games, frozen treats, and lick mats — all things that keep her sharp and content. She rides beautifully in the car and is a great companion for public outings. Izzy is heartworm negative, up to date on all vaccines, and will be spayed upon adoption. If you’re looking for a loving, loyal companion who’s as easygoing as she is affectionate, Izzy might just be the perfect fit to join your pack.
