Story

Hi my name is Samantha but my foster family calls me Sammy or Sam. I am 6 months old and all puppy! My mom was a purebred GSP but WGSPR was told I am GSP/Border Collie mix. I came into rescue with very little training but I am a very quick study. I know sit, down, come, sleep in my crate all night and picked up on housetraining very quickly. I also respond to my name. Walking on a leash is a work in progress. Did I mention I love chasing butterflies and birds? It is an obsession (after all I do have pointer blood!) When butterflies and other distractions are around my selective hearing kicks in. I will require a fenced yard with my new family. On-going obedience training will be important for me as my training started a bit late and it will need regular enforcing. I love all people and am good with dogs. I love playing with my foster family’s dog Zoe I know enough to leave older grumpy dogs alone- they sometimes don’t like my energy level. I travel well in a crate and have been on all sorts of adventures- camping, visiting a winery, and vet visits. I take it all in stride. I stayed with a nice friend for a couple days and did well with her cats. During the day if Mom and Dad are gone I have stayed 2- 4 hours in an indoor kennel with my friend Zoe. I am most active in the mornings. If I get my morning exercise and walk I can chill nicely on my doggie pillow if mom and dad are busy working. I will thrive best with a family that understands I am a work in progress as I am all puppy! I require lots of exercise, attention and patience. I thrive when challenged mentally and physically and continuing on with obedience training is a must for me to become a good doggie citizen. ##2130969##

Yasha is a 6 month old GSP border collie mix. She learns very quickly and loves exploring outside. She is very smart and picked up on housetraining and commands quickly. She knows her name and a few commands like sit and come. She loves going on long walks but will often stop to point at rabbits and chipmunks. She enjoys sprinting back and forth in fields and splashing around in lakes. Yasha is initially timid around other dogs but loves to sniff and get to know them. She gets along with all people and has a fascination with toddlers. She will occasionally jump on people but is working on it! She'll need additional training but is very quick to pick up on things. She needs plenty of chew toys around or she'll find inappropriate objects. Yasha is an adorable sweet puppy that needs some patience and a lot of exercise. She would do best with a family that can give her a lot of attention throughout the day and has a yard for her to run around in. ##2130972##

Wolfina is being fostered in TX, UPDATE: Wolfina is very anxious when transported long distances; thus, short transports of less than 4 hours are advised. Please email adoption@blinddogrescue.org for more information or if you have any questions. Thank you. Wolfina is a sweet girl that just wants to be loved. She is a little shy at first meeting, especially with men, but warms up quickly. She really enjoys exploring the fenced-in backyard with her fur-siblings. She also likes taking walks with her foster mom around the neighborhood. Although she was not leash-trained when she came to live with her foster mom, she picked up on it quickly and gets excited to go on her walks when her leash is picked up. She doesn't seem to have much interest in toys, but really likes laying in her doggy bed, especially when it has a blanket or two to snuggle in. BDRA had voted against the use of electrical fencing effective immediately.
