Here is more info and pics: 🐾 ISADORA UPDATE🐾 I had the absolute pleasure of having Isadora as my Weekend Warrior again this weekend, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about this sweet girl. ❤️ Isadora is a beautiful, 11-month-old puppy from DeKalb County Animal Services who is blind — but she certainly doesn’t let that slow her down! She is doing AMAZINGLY well navigating the world. This weekend, she went to Downtown Roswell and even to a loud brewery, and she was absolutely perfect. She handled all the new sights, sounds, people and activity like a champ. 🥹🐾 She is also working on potty training, and I’m so proud to say that she has had ZERO accidents this entire weekend — and she has not been crated. She has been such an easy, sweet girl to have around. ❤️ A few things I love about Isadora: • Loves children • perfect size- only 25lbs • Loves dogs — big and small! • Wonderful in new environments • Navigates amazingly well despite being blind • Sweet, affectionate and people-loving • Working hard on potty training • Has had no accidents this weekend • Has done beautifully without being crated I would love to see Isadora go to a home with another dog, because she absolutely LOVES canine companionship. 🐶❤️ I have a feeling she would probably love cats too, although she hasn’t been tested with them while I’ve had her. Most importantly, Isadora needs an adopter or a long-term foster to keep her out of the shelter. She has so much potential and is such a happy, loving puppy. Meet Spirit Spirit may be a puppy with a disability, but don’t tell her that—she has no idea! This happy, affectionate girl is full of love and joy. Her favorite things include snuggling on a soft bed or curling up right in your lap for a nap after a good play session. Spirit is paralyzed in her back end due to a stable spinal fracture that cannot be surgically repaired. She cannot use her back legs and has no control over stool or urine, but her elimination is reflexive and does not require intervention as long as amounts remain normal. Despite this, Spirit doesn’t let her condition slow her down one bit—she’s just as playful and silly as any other pup. She’s very social and loves meeting new people, especially kids. Spirit gets along well with other dogs and is curious about cats—though her playful energy and eagerness to chase may be a bit much for some feline friends. Like most puppies, Spirit is learning the ropes of the world. She’s working on playing fetch, enjoys sunny days outdoors, and thinks wagon rides are the best way to go on walks. She’s even dipped her paws into swimming at the lake! True to puppy form, she does like to explore the world with her mouth, so she’ll need continued guidance as she grows. At night, Spirit settles nicely in her crate and sleeps soundly when things are quiet. She’s the perfect mix of playful and cuddly—always ready for fun, but happiest snuggled up next to her people. Introducing best buds, Ziggy and Magnus! These two sweet guys are a bonded pair who are looking for a quiet home where they can live together. They originally came from a house with too many animals where they didn't get a lot of human attention. Understandably, they were very timid but they've come a long way since then. Once they get to know you, they are very affectionate and happy little dudes. Magnus is the smaller, black and white, middle-aged gentleman. He is the leader who Ziggy looks to for direction. Magnus has been quick to settle in. He is a grade A couch snuggler while you are watching TV or reading. He will give you kisses (don't worry, his teeth have been cleaned!) and follow you about the house when he's not napping. He's a low energy, easygoing guy. Ziggy is the younger, brown, sausage-shaped dog. He's very shy yet but clearly enjoys being pet (including belly rubs) when he gets up the courage to ask. He also has become a couch snuggler, following Magnus's direction. He will also give you little kisses. Ziggy would love to have a yard to prance around in. He's low to medium energy, but he does get bursts of silliness and zoomies on occasion! He and Magnus genuinely enjoy going outside. He likes squeaker toys and he is treat motivated. Hee could stand to lose a little weight. Crate-training: Both dogs love their crate. They prefer to be crated together so they can snuggle. They can be crated a full work day. House-training: They have been excellent with going potty outside and we think they are housetrained. Dogs: They are great around other similar sized dogs and are happy to share the couch and toys with them. Ziggy has even played short games of chase with one of them. Cats: They are suspicious and nervous around cats. While most of the time they ignore them them Ziggy will sometimes chase them and bark. They would probably be happier without them. Kids: They would likely do best in a quieter house without small kids because of their more timid nature. Leash-work: Surprisingly not too bad but they can pull when scared. At this time a yard would be recommended instead of walks for bathroom breaks. Behavior: They are very, very sweet and submissive, and more shy than anxious. They will bark at and avoid new people at first (men more than women) and they're nervous about being picked up and grabbed, especially Ziggy. This has improved as they've settled in but will be something that needs to be worked on in their new home. They haven't shown any resource guarding or separation anxiety. Ziggy and Magnus are both really nice little guys. They just need a patient owner who is understanding of their shy nature and willing to give them time.
