Story
💥 Meet Carmy: Who Needs A Man When You Can Have THIS Man? 💥 Single, stunning, and slightly dramatic (doesn’t he sound perfect already?!), Carmy is the whole package. At just 2 to 3 years old, this handsome block-head of a heartthrob is out here living his best main-character life, and he’s looking for a human to join his story. Carmy has that rugged, misunderstood bad-boy energy, but with the emotional depth of a Keith Sweat song (YouTube it, youngsters). He’ll melt into your lap like butter, then act personally offended when you get up to grab a snack. Let’s be clear: Carmy will need to be your one and only. He’s not here to play fetch with your cousin’s doodle. He’s not interested in “making friends” or “doggy playdates.” Nah, Carmy is the Beyoncé of dogs- he doesn’t share the stage. He’s loyal. He’s hilarious. He’s dramatic. He will judge all your neighbors as he relentlessly keeps watch out the window. Then beg for a walk only to decide 10 minutes later that it's too hot. He’s an entire mood. 🔥 What Carmy brings to the table: Olympic-level “woos” when excited and gold medal recall! Excellent golfing skills Judging your neighbors more than even the crankiest member of neighborhood watch. A head like a bowling ball and a heart just as big A RBF that’ll have the mailman questioning his life choices 💅 What he’s not bringing: A tolerance for other dogs (he said what he said) Independent nature. Sleeping alone is overrated anyway. This guy wants to snuggle. Too much energy. A mile long walk and he is ready to chill. If you’ve got a dog-free home, a good sense of humor, and the emotional bandwidth to love something THIS MUCH—then congratulations, you may have just found your soulmate. Let’s be honest, who needs a guy when THIS guy is all you’ll need. Adopt Carmy. He’s got the looks, the loyalty, and the big energy your life’s been missing. Carmy is fostered in the Madison, WI area. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Story
Meet Waffles! Nickname: The Great Pretender. Waffles lied about being a senior to get accepted into Albert's Dog Lounge. His zoomies and joyful toy play gave him away quickly in his foster home. Breed: Lhasa Apso Rescue: Albert’s Dog Lounge Age: 5 years young... or younger. Weight: 14 lbs of pure scruffy joy Hometown: Milwaukee, WI Current digs: Madison, WI Personality Snapshot: I'm a total vibe. Let's just throw that out there now. I am the hot guy at school that all the girls want to ask to the Sadie Hawkins dance. I would be Sunshine, the blonde surfer dude QB in Remember the Titans. If I had a baseball cap, I would wear it backwards, and wear Nike sport slides. I would chill all summer by the pool and flash my beautiful smile. Sun's Out, Fluff's Out, ladies. Every time I got up to walk to the pool, those lady lifeguards would swoon. I would toss the football in the pool with my bros. I am THAT guy. I love all people, big, small, short, tall, male, female, babies, toddlers, kids, and adults. My talent is sniffing at your baby's dirty diaper until you change those poopy pants. I also excel at unpacking the toy box and blaming your children. Speaking of kids..... can I have one or two? Please? I LOVE children, and would thrive in a home where they will be my best friends. I love all the dogs, especially the ones who want to play with me, but if I am your one and only and YOU want to play with me, that is fine too. But wouldn't it be amazing if I had a sibling named Maple Syrup? Or Pancakes? Waffles Stats: Sleep style: currently in a crate, but I feel like you should let me sleep with you in your bed. Maybe? Please? Meals: 1/3 cup Fromm's Gold, twice daily. Nom nom. Snore-o-meter: 1/10 I am a polite sleeper Bark-o-meter: 3/10 I will let you know when someone is coming to the door, and will mildly protest when I am crated but otherwise, I am pretty polite. Shedding: 1/10 Be prepared to brush my flowing golden cream locks. Fashion sense: think swimming pool chic~ Hibiscus print board shorts and a Billabong tank top Signature color: bright pastels~ they pop against my sun-drenched curls Walk-out song: I am big into that other blonde guy who turns heads: Justin Timberlake. I love me some "Can't Stop the Feeling" Favorite season: Summer! It gives my adoring public the chance to ogle my fine, flowing locks. Dream job: Hair model, and unpacking toy boxes at Walmart. My unpacking speed in unparallelled! Special Notes: The rescue says that I remind them of the Dos Equis guy. A lot. I say that's not me (though I MIGHT be the most interesting dog in the world!) but there is no photographic proof of us ever being in the same room at the same time. Draw your own conclusions. I do mark indoors and am wearing a belly band right now, and I have a bad humping habit. However, I am scheduled for a neuter 1.16, because balls are for the football field, not rescue dogs, and there is a good chance that both of those issues will improve. I will likely also stop marking once I am feeling familiar and safe in a home. I have only been in foster for a short time. The Details: Neutered very soon Microchipped Housebroke (marks but that should improve with comfort level and neuter) Enjoys Happy zoomies Rides like a champ in the car Doesn't love it at the beginning but will use his crate Up to date on vaccinations & preventatives Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. The ears! The legs!! Mini Bambi :) Fashion: Lady in reeeeeeeed! Red is her signature color Walk out song: You’re My Best Friend - Queen Favorite season: Summer, loves a warm spot in the sun Personality: Lap loving yet playful, loves to be near (or on top of) her people Loves: To be near her people, making new friends, sunbathing, napping Spayed ✅ Microchipped ✅ Pee pad trained and working on an outdoor potty schedule ✅ Free roam, no crate needed ✅ UTD on vaccinations ✅ UTD on preventatives ✅ Miss Briar is a Bambi look alike who is ready for her forever home. She came from a hoarding case and is ready for the good life! She’s sweet and playful with humans, gets along with dogs of various sizes and while not cat tested it’s believed she would ignore them. She has not met small children but is a typical Chi and may be nervous at initial meetings before warming up. Briar is working on maintaining a healthy weight with canned food and working on her leash skills. She’s low maintenance and happy to take a nap but also has adorable bursts of energy where she hops like a bunny. Due to a collapsed trachea she may reverse sneeze on occasion but is not on any medications. Briar is due for a dental on 11/17 but able to go home right after :) Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Story
Meet Julius Caesar AKA: The cutest tiny dictator Vibe Check: Distinguished senior statesman. Low drama. High cuddle diplomacy. Fun Fact: Julius Caesar is a professional couch potato—but please install guardrails. His depth perception is less "military strategy" and more "abstract art". Rescue: Albert’s Dog Lounge Age: Senior (aged like a fine Roman wine) Weight: 12 lbs of pure imperial elegance Health Notes (All Hail the Honest Scroll): Julius's vision isn’t great, and his hearing may be questionable… or he may simply be choosing peace and ignoring you. Et tu, Brutus? He is on Optimune ($55 per tube) but doesn't mind it. Current Residence: Monroe, WI (far from Rome, but still respectable) Activity Level: Low… except for his daily, non-negotiable Zoomies of the Republic™ Social Skills: Dogs (will politely relocate if play gets too rowdy) Cats Older, respectful kids Loves the ladies, but REALLY loves men. Full-butt-wag allegiance. No judgment—everyone has a type. Sleep Style: Strictly dog beds only. No furniture hopping. No risky jumps. Julius believes in peace, stability, and not falling off things. Dining Preferences: Stella & Chewy’s raw kibble topped with meat, served twice daily. Refined palate. No counter surfing. Knows his lane and stays in it. Bark-O-Meter: 0/10 Julius believes barking is beneath a civilized ruler. Shedding Meter: 0/10 (but yes—regular grooming is required. Great hair doesn’t govern itself.) Fashion Sense: A toga. Of course. Signature Color: Crimson—because it pops against his inky black fur. Extras: Walk-Out Song: "Julius Caesar" by French Montana Favorite Pastime: Sunny day naps on the deck Best Feature: Softest fur ever. Must missing a crown of laurel leaves Signature Move: Locate soft bed → immediate nap Love Language: Car rides on a cozy blanket, lounging near your desk on a plush dog bed, or chewing a marrow bone while you watch TV. If given the option, Julius would chew marrow bones 24/7 without regret. The Final Decree: Julius Caesar is happy, cuddly, and deeply committed to chin scratches—his greatest joy in life. He thrives on routine, sleeps through the night, and is a pee-pad professional on the rare occasion one is needed. In summary: Julius Caesar is ready to lay down his laurel crown and retire directly into your heart. But will he find a home before the Ides of March? Neutered Microchipped Working on potty training. Uses belly bands and pee pads for now. Story
Meet Reyzin! Breed: Miniature Poodle Rescue: Albert's Dog Lounge Age: Adult Weight: 15 pounds Fun Fact: Reyzin is made of velcro, so he sticks to you any time your lap is available Foster Home: Delavan, WI Activity Level: Low/ Moderate Friendly with: Dogs, cats, and older, respectful children Reyzin is ready for the life he always deserved. He is officially done with his former job as a puppy mill breeder. No more cages. No more being used. From here on out, it’s soft beds, full bellies, and people who think the sun rises and sets with him. Reyzin is what we lovingly call a very good boy. He’s gentle, kind, and full of quiet joy. The kind of dog who watches the world with curious eyes and a hopeful heart. His foster mom calls him her “atta boy” because Reyzin tries so hard — and succeeds — at being everything wonderful. He needs a home with another gentle dog his size to keep him company, and humans (one or many!) who are committed to couch snuggles and bedtime cuddles. In the right calm home, Reyzin could also shine as an only dog, soaking up all the love for himself. He hates to be picky, but prefers a home without shared walls, getting used to a home can be scary, so he needs a quiet one that’s standalone. A secure fenced yard would be ideal so Reyzin can safely explore the world he’s still discovering. He’s working on his potty skills and is making great progress every day, and we know he will master the outside potty routine soon (maybe after the sub-zero wind chill days?). He’s also happy to share his home with cats, because Reyzin is just that kind of gentleman. Reyzin didn’t get the start in life he deserved — but his future can be everything he dreamed of. YOU can give that to him. If you’re ready to give a mill survivor the happy ending he’s waited five years for, Reyzin is ready to meet you. Story
Name: Bert Breed: Australian Shepherd Mix Weight: 44 pounds Age: Adult Rescue: Albert’s Dog Lounge Current Location: Madison, WI Housetrained: yes Crate trained: yes – I love my crate - I sleep and eat there! Bert, or Bertski, or Bertrand, had a not so great past marked by neglect, inadequate food, and minimal human/dog interaction. He’s done with that part of his life and is ready to move on to his best life where he can shower his humans with love, go on outdoor adventures, and sleep on soft warm beds! Things Bert needs/likes: *Someone with experience with working breed dogs. Bert is experiencing a lot of new things all at once. He needs structure and guidance from someone who understands the intelligence and drive of these dogs. Bert is curious, smart, and loving. The effort spent training will be paid back in years of unconditional love. *A fenced yard. Bert’s an active boy and needs some safe space to stretch those legs. He would love to freely engage in doggy parkour! *Snuggling. In addition to being an outdoor enthusiast Bert is a master snuggler. *Other dogs. He is a good dog brother and loves other dogs. *Adult humans with active lifestyles. He loves going on hikes and long walks. *Private dog parks so he can kick out his jams without worrying about those dogs he doesn’t know, who might try to harsh his mellow. Things Bert dislikes/needs to avoid: *Picking up: Bert should not be picked up. He whips around and jerks and gets very upset if you levitate him off the ground. This is manageable with a basket muzzle. Bert’s fosters are working on counter training so this might be a thing of the past soon! *Kids are likely not a good fit. It’s not that Bert doesn’t like them, he likes everybody. But his personality can be too much for the kiddos. *Public dog parks. Bert is still learning appropriate interactions. You can't control other people or their dogs at the dog park, and we don't want to undo what strides Bert has made. *Cats are too exciting for Bert. He wants to engage and often, they.... don't. He is learning manners and how to interact, but he should likely not live in a home with kitties. Behavioral considerations: *Leash walking: Bert should be walked with a harness. He had an embedded collar when he arrived in rescue. We don’t want to put pressure on his throat/neck. He may also pull initially when he begins his walks, calming down after the initial excitement. *Car rides: Bert happily jumps in the car. He can’t wait to see where he might be going! He prefers to ride in style in a crate. *Taking treats: food is so, so good. Bert gets excited by even the most boring treats (I’ve tried Charlie Bears – trust me, they are not great). He tries to put treats in his mouth as fast as possible in case they disappear. He is learning how to take treats gently and like everything else he is learning, he’s getting better every day. *Impulse control: Bert can get overstimulated quickly. This is most likely from spending much of his life living outside without much human/canine interaction. He is learning to "dog" quite nicely and loves his dog friends. He is learning more and more every day how to interact well. If you have experience with working breed dogs, love to train and build a bond with your best friend, love to hike and snuggle in equal measures, this fun loving, loveable, funny boy might just be the one for you!
