Story
We prefer Daisy to be adopted with Duke. This chill duo were abandoned by their previous owner and are estimated to be 4 years old. Desert Willow took them in and immediately fell in love with them because it's impossible not to! Daisy and Duke are the most laid-back pups at the rescue. They are marginally interested in exercise, Duke more so than Daisy, and they enjoy a nice stroll to explore and sniff around. Their ideal activity, however, is cuddling up on the couch and showering you with kisses. They are wonderful with children! As excellent students, they are picking up on their training skills very quickly. They are both described by everyone as being so sweet and gentle. Daisy adores belly rubs, and will happily present her belly to anyone who may rub it! Duke loves beds – oh so much. He is very resourceful and will carry his bed around with him so that it’s always handy for a good nap. They are the perfect pair if you're looking for chill, kissy cuddlers. They offer an instant canine family.... just add you! No cats please. Reach out if you're interested!! Located in: Dane County, WI _____ Desert Willow Ranch and Rescue https://www.desertwillow.org/

Story
Greta is arriving in WI on Friday 1/30 and we will learn more about her, so more information coming soon. What we know now: At 5-6 years young, Greta's past life has consisted of back-to-back breeding and then she became no longer useful to the breeders, so they dumped her and she landed herself on a euthanasia list due to overcrowding. She is now safe and free from that life! In Texas she was tested with other dogs and did well and was all wags and butt wiggles! She's looking for a place to lay her big head and live out the rest of her life being pampered like the queen she is and how deserves after all that baby raising she's done! She is very cuddly, gives kisses freely, and looks at you like she's hanging on your every word. She is food motivated and we think she will be a quick learner!

Story
Meet Juno! She is a very energetic 1 year old girl who was rescued from a severe abuse and neglect situation in Lubbock, TX. She was found chained on a short chain in her backyard and was only 25lbs (she is 45lbs now and still has weight to gain!). Now, she is here at Desert Willow learning about freedom and love. She has done amazing with people and kids and is bursting at the seams with joy and love. She RUNS whenever she can, throws toys in the air and chases them, cuddles passionately and just wants to find her human. She may need to be an only dog at this point as she has had some bad experiences it appears, but she will be your true companion. She would be ideal for someone who is active and possibly enjoys hiking, running, and/or swimming. Come meet her! She is always ready to meet you! Story
Amelia Bedelia is a very sweet, gentle girl who is ready to find her forever home! Our vet believes she is about 1-2 years old. She was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas when her previous owners did not want to come for her and we do NOT understand why - she's absolutely AMAZING and has been a total love bug. Amelia has the best personality and is affectionate, playful, and full of charm! She adores people! One of her quirky charms is that she will army crawl across the floor to get closer to people! She gets along well with other dogs, and would do great living with other pups or living as an only pup too. She is a big fan of toys (the squeaky and crinkly kinds are her favorites!) and will happily entertain herself, especially if you are nearby giving her attention. Her energy level is medium, think: couch potato meets playtime! She enjoys cuddles, neighborhood walks, or backyard playtime. She may not be the best long hike companion, but little adventures are great! Amelia is crate trained and does wonderfully when left alone. She relaxes in her crate and her bed, stays quiet, and settles calmly. Her foster checks on her through the doggy camera, and she doesn't make a peep! Amelia is an incredible girl who is going to make someone very happy!! Check out her sous chef skills here: https://www.facebook.com/reel/1922059588412891

Story
Huck is around 1-2 years old, medium energy, and about 50lbs. He is a major snuggler and has been a quick learner! He is crate trained and walks well on leash. He enjoys playing, but is not super interested in toys. He doesn't shed much at all! He LOVES kids and is gentle with babies. He gets along great with other dogs of all sizes! Huck is currently fostered with kids and dogs. Huck needs a home without cats. Huck found himself roaming the streets of Lubbock, TX for weeks or even months. Huck was immediately a sweet boy, and it is clear that he has experienced some sort of trauma in the past as he is scared of men. He is not aggressive at all, he just tries to avoid them. His foster thinks that he would warm up to a man after time, but the man needs to be patient with him. With women and kids, he is readily a snuggly boy! Huck is currently in Texas, but we want to bring him up to Wisconsin soon and transport can be easily arranged!
