Story
***Please note this is an "out of town" pet. This pet will be transported once they have a committed family. All transportation fees are already included in the adoption fees.*** Gidget Joy (Gigi) is a 1 year old playful, friendly, gentle, athletic young dog with lots of energy! She is a perfect mix - we believe she has some retriever, some Pyrenees and perhaps even some hound! She is a sweet, affectionate, and goofy little pup! She is always ready for a game of throw or an exciting walk. Gigi is a great companion for active people who love the outdoors. She is super friendly and will walk right up to you and say hi! She will be your best friend in no time, and she gets along great with other dogs! She is crate-trained and house-broken. She is a very loving dog and will make a great addition to your family. We know you'll love her as much as we do! Gigi was dumped by her former owner, and the kind folks that found her brought her to FWFP for a new beginning! Interested in becoming this pup’s forever home? For immediate consideration, please fill out our online adoption application: http://www.friendswithfourpaws.org/adoption-form.html This is the first step in our process, and we DO NOT go any further without an application. If there are multiple dogs that you are interested in, please fill out an application for each dog. This does not include bonded pairs — for them, one application will be fine. Because we have different adoption coordinators working with different dogs, your application may be missed if you only apply once. Find more adoptable pets, news, and information on Instagram @friendswithfourpaws or our Facebook page Friends with Four Paws. We put a lot of time and energy into processing our adoptions finding our fur babies the most loving homes. Please do not apply if you are not serious about adopting. We are so excited to work with you to find you a new forever friend, and Gigi the perfect forever home, and appreciate you working with us. Our adoption fee is $525. This includes their spay/neuter surgery, full (age-appropriate) vaccinations, microchip insertion and registration, deworming, heartworm testing and prevention, flea and tick prevention, and travel expenses. All our dogs are rescued from local shelters and the general public. Each dog is then placed in a foster home where he/she is kept for quarantine, to ensure if the dog gets sick it can receive proper treatment. We have foster homes in the NJ/NY area waiting to receive their fosters. Once an animal has received an application or there's an adopter interested, we make arrangements for their transport. If a dog is already in foster care in NYC/NJ, an adopter will be put in touch with the foster home AFTER an application is being processed. Thank you in advance for your patience with our process and for making adoption YOUR option!

Story
Halo was rescued back in Oklahoma last year. When I rescued him and took him to the vet to get checked out and his shots, they told me he was about a few months so he’s a little over one years old now. I have a new job that’s extremely busy and time consuming so it has become very difficult financially and time managing wise to be there for him like i feel he deserves. I know there’s someone out there that would fully invest their time into giving him the love he deserves. He’s a very sweet dog, he’s never been aggressive since day one. He warms up quickly. Halo is an amazing dog. I just want him to receive all the love that someone has to offer. Thanks!

Story
Cleo is a total sweetheart and would make an amazing addition to any family or loving home. This gentle, affectionate girl adores everyone she meets, and is amazing with people, kids, and other dogs. She is fully house-trained, sleeps through the night in her bed, and loves going for walks, playing fetch, and curling up beside you at the end of the day. Cleo has the softest fur you'll ever run your hands through and is just looking for someone to give her love. She gets a lot of compliments for being such a cutie. Photos do not do her justice!   ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at  WaldosRescue.org  and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog.  We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs. Waldos Rescue Pen is a 501c3 whose primary focus is rescuing dogs from the euthanasia list from high kill shelters throughout the United States ##1399730##

Story
Meet Blizzard, a ten month old, eighty-pound freckled Great Pyrenees mix with the personality of a gentle snowstorm and the energy of one too. He’s fluffy, playful, friendly, and all puppy at heart. Blizzard is currently looking for a foster-to-adopt home or a forever home, and he’s ready to move in now! Blizzard is a joyful, goofy dog! His foster describes him as “a sweet, goofy fluff of a dog who’s just testing out the world,” and that captures him perfectly. He loves meeting new people, welcomes pets from strangers, and behaves well with other dogs, especially at the dog park, which is his favorite place. He’s still learning that smaller dogs don’t always appreciate being pounced on by a big puppy, but he means well and adjusts with guidance. He has also done beautifully around children and plays more gently with them than with adults!  True to his age, Blizzard has plenty of energy, and his days are full of highs, zooms, and bursts of excitement. He loves being outside, chases birds and squirrels, and pulls most enthusiastically when he knows the dog park is near. Indoors, he’s affectionate, observant, and very smart. He knows sit, down, and stay, watches his humans closely, and even tries to mimic how they open doors. He is treat-motivated and eager to please, though still learning consistency and boundaries. He prefers cool places to rest and is not a heavy shedder.. On leash, he has improved significantly since arriving in his foster home. He will pull when he wants to greet other dogs or investigate smells, but with time and routine he walks with good focus and pace!  His ideal home is a spacious with a family willing to give him structure, supervision, and plenty of physical and mental exercise. He is a big, strong, fast puppy who thrives when he can run, explore, and be an active part of household life. Those who welcome him into their home will be rewarded with a smart, loving, endlessly entertaining companion who is still learning the world but eager to grow into his full potential! ##2581062##

Story
Meet Yeti.11 months old, nearly a year, Great Pyrenees mix, and about 90 lbs of big-hearted, goofy energy. Yeti really needs a win before Christmas. His foster family will be traveling soon, and we are hoping more than anything to find him a foster-to-adopt or forever home so he doesn’t have to be moved again. He’s already been shuffled enough in his young life and deserves to settle in for good. Three words that describe him best: goofy, playful, energetic. Yeti loves long walks through Brooklyn Bridge Park, intense tug-of-war sessions, watching birds fly by, and making new friends everywhere he goes. After he burns off his puppy energy, he turns into a total cuddly dog who just wants to be close to his people. He is house trained, sleeps in his crate from 10 to 7 like a pro, eats on a great routine, and is overall a really well-mannered big puppy. On leash he does great most of the time, but when he gets overstimulated he can get mouthy with the leash and sleeves in a playful way. He is already working with a professional trainer and making steady progress. With other dogs, Yeti is very friendly and enthusiastic. He loves to play and assumes everyone wants to wrestle and be best friends. Because of his size and puppy energy, he does best with supervision and a dog that can handle rough, playful energy. With structure, he’s going to be an amazing canine sibling. Yeti has spent some time in a home with cats, but because of his curiosity and playful chase instincts with squirrels, a cat-savvy, dog-experienced home would be best if there are cats in the home (and a cat that can handle some big puppy energy). He has met children and absolutely loves them, but can also intimidate those not used to big dogs because of his size. The ideal home for Yeti is active, patient, and ready to continue his training and help him learn how to regulate his excitement. A yard would be great but is not required if he gets long walks and daily exercise. Another playful dog could be a great match for them to burn off energy together all day long. ##2551381##
