A Note from the Foster: Lotus is a gentle and kind 7-year-old Shih Tzu who was subjected to unethical breeding for her whole life. Well, no more. She is now being bathed in love and compassion. Despite lack of care, she is sweet, loves people and great with other dogs. She is an A+ snuggler and an easier keeper. She is crate-trained and working hard on house-training. This will take some time knowing she was confined to a crate for so long. If you have love to give, and patience to see her through needed training, you have found your girl. She is the sweetest pup in town.

A Note from the Foster: Meet Emmitt! Emmitt is a fun-loving little guy with a heart full of love to give. He’s happiest playing with any kind of ball and romping around with his two larger foster siblings. Emmitt gets along wonderfully with both small and large dogs and would truly thrive in a home with another canine companion. He’s also a total people pup — you’ll often find him right at your heels, eager to snuggle and shower you with kisses. Emmitt is working hard on his potty training and does best when kept on a consistent schedule. He’s doing great overnight and has very few accidents. Because he’s still young, he’ll also benefit from a basic obedience class (which is required for all dogs under two years old). As a Shih Tzu, Emmitt will need regular grooming every 4–6 weeks to keep his coat fluffy, clean, and soft. Like many young dogs, Emmitt is still learning the ropes of being a house pup. He’ll need a patient family willing to help him continue his potty training and manners — and to keep an eye on their belongings! He has been known to proudly parade off with a bathroom rug or two. A Note from the Foster: Hi everyone, my name is Hilda and my foster mom says that makes sense because she says I am a little warrior due to all I have endured the first five years of my life. You see I am a commercial breeder survivor that entered rescue about a month ago and I have been trying so hard to be brave. New sounds scare me and I do not like meeting new people; however, I have started taking a few medications to make me more confident as well as gotten my ear infections treated and an extensive dental and I am starting to feel so much better. I recently discovered the fun toys in my foster mom's house and my favorites include a squeaky dinosaur and a large bone (it's my foster brothers and it's waaaay better than my small one even if it's the same size as me). I am getting better at walking on a leash as long as I can walk behind my foster mom. In fact, I usually follow her around the house all the time, always behind her so its easier to keep an eye on everything. I sleep in my kennel but sometimes I don't like not being around everyone else so I will let out a few barks to let them know. My favorite thing is being near my people but with just enough distance to do my own thing because I do still do not appreciate all their attention. I also enjoy following the other dogs around in the yard, I am starting to figure out how to play with them as well and they make it easier for me to be confident. My foster mom says that as I get more and more comfortable, I may enjoy touch more but I also may never be a "cuddly lap dog." She says I show my affection in my own ways but it will be important that my new family is patient with me and allows me to love them in my own way. If you are able to continue allowing Hilda to learn and grow her confidence on her own timeline, we look forward to hearing from you and meeting you. This warrior girl deserves her happily ever after.

A Note from the Foster: Hello, I'm a sweet, slightly quirky little gal that my foster family calls Bug and I'd love to become your new furry BFF. I love exploring outside, mealtimes (but no treats), playing with my toys (who knew that could be so fun?), and a nice, long nap on a handy lap. I can be skittish about loud noises and a bit shy, but I've warmed up quickly to just about everyone I've met. I've learned to stay quietly in my kennel overnight and loose in the kitchen at other times without complaint (mostly). I'm learning to walk well on a leash for outings, too. I'm still working on being fully house trained, but I know I'll get it soon. I loved wrestling with my previous foster mate, so I'd probably enjoy a home with another dog to play with. Give me a chance and I'll deliver lots of butt wiggles just for you.

History: Barron is a super sweet boy who arrived to rescue in desperate need of a second chance. He is such a handsome and striking boy who is ready to meet his forever home soon! A Note from the Foster: Take a look at that sweet face—this is Barron! 💙 If he looks a little unsure, that’s because life is still very new to him. Barron came to us as part of a breeder release and is just beginning to understand what it means to feel safe, loved, and cared for in a home. Barron is a gentle observer who likes to keep track of where everyone is and what’s going on around him. While he’s still warming up to the humans in the house, he has already found comfort and confidence in our resident dog, who is helping show him the ropes and teaching him that people can be pretty wonderful too. He’s doing a fantastic job with potty training and will let you know when he needs to go outside. We use a belly wrap indoors as an extra precaution while he continues learning. Leash walking is still a work in progress, but Barron is a smart boy and improving every day. Barron has tested positive for heartworm and will begin treatment in January. He’ll need a patient, supportive home to help him through that process—but in return, you’ll gain a loyal companion with so much love to give. This good boy is ready to find his furever home, where he can continue to blossom and return your love tenfold. 🐾❤️
