Blaze is a 54#, 5-year-old Border Collie with a sunny personality and a zest for life that's as bright as a perfect summer day. He thinks every day should include a game of fetch or frisbee and plenty of time spent with his favorite people. Happy-go-lucky, affectionate, and adventurous, Blaze loves being part of the action, whether that's a morning walk, a trip to the park, or a backyard barbecue. His energy level is a wonderful balance: he's always ready for fun and activity, and he's equally happy to relax and enjoy downtime with his family afterward. Blaze would thrive with an active, herding breed-experienced family that appreciates both his intelligence and enthusiasm. He walks beautifully on leash without pulling and is well-socialized in the world. He's crate trained and keeps four on the floor. He knows a few basic obedience commands and wants to learn more. With his smarts, a little time and some good treats, and we bet he can learn anything! A fenced yard would be ideal for Blaze so he has room to stretch his legs and enjoy his favorite games. He can happily live as an only dog or with a canine companion. He is a herding dog, which includes nipping at ankles if given the opportunity. Families with older kids are the best fit – no littles, please. He likes to check cats out, but is not aggressive. He could live with dog-savvy felines. Blaze will be an even happier boy when he loses roughly 7-8 lbs. As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved. We are located in Minnesota and adopt to an area 400 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul.

Location: Mankato, MN Lasso is a shy dog that has so much potential. He’s incredibly sweet, loves to be pet. He’s very anxious and does WAY better with other dogs in the house, to build his confidence. His current foster home has children (4 & 7 years old), but he would probably appreciate a quieter home with older kids. He doesn’t have an aggressive bone in his body, but the loud sudden noises make him hide in his crate. He comes out of his shell more once the kiddos are in school 😅 His ideal home would have other dogs, and a family with patience to celebrate all his little milestones. Zuko was dumped on the street and found by Carver Canines in Carver county. We do not know exactly how old Zuko is, but we think he is around 1 year old. I got him neutered and he is up to date on all of his shots. He is a big goofy boy and a cuddle bug. The reason why I cannot keep him is because he has gotten aggressive towards other people, and does not do good in an apartment setting. I also have a very busy schedule and he needs someone who is able to give him more time than I am. Zuko needs a big yard where he doesn't have a whole lot of human interaction, and can be able to run free. He would make a good working dog, or farm dog. Zuko does great with other dogs and is very food motivated. He is also the biggest lover ever. He will cuddle with you all night once he is comfortable with you. He loves attention and will lay on your chest all night!

She absolutely thrives in a home with other dogs. She loves to play, wrestle, and then curl up for cozy naps with her canine friends. Her best friend is a cat named Hector and in a new home (and proper introductions) Elsie can adjust to cats with a little time and patience. This sweet girl is deeply devoted to her people. She wants to be by your side through everything, whether you’re relaxing on the couch, working around the house, or even trying to load the dishwasher (she insists on supervising!). Personal space? Elsie’s never heard of it and honestly, she thinks it’s overrated. Elsie is incredibly smart and very food motivated, which makes training both fun and rewarding. Elsie does have a sensitive side and is looking for a confident, patient home that will help her feel safe and supported. She can be wary of new people, especially men, but with really yummy treats, slow, proper introductions and consistency, she warms up and becomes affectionate (face kisses included!). Because of this, she’ll do best with a family that can advocate for her space and provide structure when guests visit.
