Meet Poncho!! Intelligent, energetic and sweet, Poncho is a 2.5 yr old Border Collie mix. He has a young, happy heart and lights up like a kid on Christmas morning while playing with his ball or rope tug toy. He is loyal to his core, loving his family with everything he has. In fact, his theme song is “I’ll Stand By You” by the Pretenders. Poncho was a little too well loved in his prior home and is making progress toward achieving a healthy weight. His goal is around 50# from a current 56#. Luckily, he is excited to take his people for walks and show them around town. He pulls on leash for the first few minutes, then settles in nicely. It’s the perfect time of year to enjoy strolls before or after work (or both) with this handsome lad. Like many highly intelligent dogs, Poncho wants to use his big brain in addition to getting daily exercise. He enjoys puzzle toys and working on basic obedience skills. He can’t wait to take classes and be the star pupil! His foster family is helping him learn how to relax by using a mat for downtime where he enjoys chewing on bones or working on a Kong. Poncho is a great fit for families that appreciate and understand smart, engaged herding dogs. He can live with dog-savvy kids roughly 10+, and hopes they enjoy playing fetch! He dreams of a fenced yard and is also well suited to families who keep their dogs safe on leash. He is house and kennel trained. Hi there! I’m Francis, though my friends call me Frankie, and I hope you’ll be one of them soon! I’m an 8-month-old, 35# Border Collie mix. I’m ready to take on the world with my future family. My foster mom says I’m responsive, alert, and active. I’m happiest when I have something to do, especially if it involves a good chase or game of tug! I love using my brain and my body. I’d thrive in a home that’s active and adventurous, where I can join in on hikes, games, and daily fun. I can’t wait to take my family to obedience classes! Recently, I was named “life of the party” at a Halloween gathering. I got to play fetch with the big kids and greet the grownups (they all call me Frankie now... wink wink). The noise and busy nature of the gathering (even kids in costumes coming to the door) didn’t phase me. I’m confident and friendly in new situations, and I love being part of the action. I’m housebroken and a total angel in my crate. I’m still learning about leash walking, but I adore being out and exploring. If devotion could be bottled, Chip would fill the room. This 6-year-old, lilac-colored Border Collie is a stunning example of the breed’s beauty and brains. His foster mom swears that his gentle, loving heart makes up half of his 50 lbs! Chip is described as curious and sweet like a good chocolate. He’s inquisitive about the world, eager to please, and “sticky like Velcro” - happiest when near his person. He’ll quietly rest beside you while you read or work, occasionally trotting off to relocate one of your shoes (his version of a love note). Chipster is discovering the fun of chasing frisbees and playing with toys. Relaxing with a bully stick is da bomb! His theme song is “A Whole New World” from the movie Aladin - he’s learning to trust, explore, and find magic in every new experience. With medium energy, Chip will thrive with a family that enjoys daily exercise and play with an occasional outing. He rides well in the car, is house trained, and relaxes quietly in his kennel. I’m Tully, and I long to be someone’s heart dog. I’m a 5-year-old, 40# Border Collie with a soft spirit, a curious mind, and a love of life’s quieter joys, especially cuddles. Sweet Maisie is a 6-year-old, 36# Border Collie with a heart as gentle as her big brown eyes. She is the perfect mid-sized companion and enjoys cuddling, walks, and hanging with her people. Affectionate and friendly with everyone she meets. She greets visitors politely and loves being part of the family without being clingy. Getting out and about is important for Maisie– she has medium energy and wants to stay active. She’s always ready for a stroll or her shift on patrol in the backyard.
