Story
Sweetie is a very lovable dog who recently lost her owner, a personal friend. We are keeping the dog and helping the family find a new home but we cannot keep her long term. She is still experiencing some stress from the loss of her owner and takes a little time to warm to new people, but in two weeks she is absolutely sweet to our family. She is excellent on a leash and in the car. She barks at any sound at the door. She also is protective of her bed and toys, but we have found if you are gentle and acceptable she will come to you and accept love without any issues. We love her and want a great loving home for her and are willing to be patient (to a degree) helping her find a forever home. We do travel a lot and therefore cannot keep her long term and neither can the immediate family.

Story
My name is Bandit. I have been in this home for 4 years since my owner rescued me. I was fully grown when I was rescued and I'm now starting to gray. I'm looking for a new home because my owner likes to babysit her grandkids. I don't like babies or little kids. I don't like cats or male dogs either. I would do well in a home as the only pet. I could use some more exercise. I don't like being locked up, my owner has tried to crate me and I just won't have it. I do love to cuddle with my owner, go for rides in the car, and I like to play fetch.

Story
10 month old, 58 lb Chewy is a fun-loving, scent-driven gentleman who still has plenty of spark to share. On walks, he listens beautifully, checks in often, and does well even on a long leash. His nose is his superpower. Whether he’s investigating the most “interesting” outdoor scents, or carefully searching a small patch of grass for every last crumb of a treat, Chewy is happiest when he’s on a mission. He is highly food motivated, which makes him eager to learn and very easy to train. With treats involved, Chewy is a devoted sidekick who won’t stray far. He could be a great fit for someone interested in scent work, retrieving, or even light hunting activities. Chewy is social with other dogs and does well in play group with respectful canine friends. He prefers calmer play and isn’t a fan of overly rough behavior, but he communicates clearly and responds well to guidance from his handler. Chewy can get a little mouthy when he’s excited, especially during transitions, but this is playful communication rather than aggression. He responds well to management tools like a gentle leader and settles nicely once he’s off the shelter grounds. If you’re looking for a loyal, entertaining companion who loves treats, sniffing adventures, and staying connected with his person, Chewy is an absolute joy to have by your side.
