Story
Sandy is. 9 year old Havanese mix. She was adopted from the StLouis Animal Control. She was rescued from a home with 30 other dogs. I feel like she is still displaced. She doesn’t like to be around other dogs or children who move around quickly. Sudden movements and loud noises make her anxious. We give her Trazodone Once a day for her anxiety. She poops and pees outsider but we have seen accidents in the house. Sandy feels safe with one owner. We’ve only had her for about two months so she is still feeling us out. I really wanted to keep her. I hope she gets a chance to go to a loving home.

Story
Tucker is a Shichon mix who just turned 14 years old on Dec 28, 2025. He is between 15-20lbs. We have a 5-year-old dog and a 1-year-old dog, and we think Tucker would be happier in a slower home without other pets or kids, unless they are older, as well. He is an anxious dog who prefers quiet time. He doesn't like to be picked up but wants to be near someone. We have not kept up with his shots, but he has been healthy. He still has some play in him when the other dogs aren't around which is another reason we think he may be happier without other pets around. We don't want money for him. We want him to find a loving and slower home, so he has less stress. Please reach out if you would like to meet him. We don't have a timeline but would like his surroundings to slow down sooner than later. Thank you for your consideration. Robin

Story
Bailey is a sweet, social, and charming 5-year-old Basset Hound looking for a loving home. She has wonderful house manners, does not need to be crated, and thrives with someone who is home often—ideally retired or working from home—since she isn’t used to being alone for long periods. True to her hound nature, Bailey loves to sniff and explore and will do best with a yard and daily walks. When she catches a scent, she’s determined, so a confident handler is important. Bailey has a classic basset personality: affectionate, playful, a little stubborn, and full of character. She enjoys squeaky toys, couch time, and being adored. She would do best as the only pet and in a home with adults or teenagers. If you’re looking for a loyal, funny companion with lots of basset charm, Bailey may be the perfect fit. Fill out an application at www.soardogs.org to meet Bailey and let her steal your heart! Adoption donation required. This covers altering, DAP series vaccinations to date of adoption, Bordetella Vaccination, Rabies vaccination if over four months, Microchip, Deworming, heartworm test (if over 8 months), monthly flea/heartworm prevention to date, grooming, full veterinary examination, and temperament evaluation. All SOAR dogs go through a ten-day quarantine period to ensure they are healthy, before being adopted. We do not operate on a first come first serve basis, but screen applicants in order to find the best fit for our adoptable dogs.
