Story
Hey there, hoomans! It's me, Colby, comin' at ya with a tail wag and a dream for my forever home! So, I might be a little shy at first-think of me as the strong, silent type (or maybe just the silent type ). But once I warm up, I'm all about that snuggle life! I'm currently chillin' in a cozy foster home after a ruff start, but now I'm ready to find my one-and-only family! Here's a little about me: Dog-Friendly - Having a buddy boosts my confidence! Crate-Trained - I'll cozy up in my crate like a pro! Potty Trained - No accidents here, folks! Laid-Back Gentleman - Super chill and easy-going! Food Motivated - The way to my heart? Treats, please! Needs a Doggy Friend - I do best with a buddy by my side! Yard Required - Fenced, please! I'm workin' on leash skills, but for now, I love my freedom to zoom! Shy but SO Sweet - Give me a chance, and I'll give you my whole heart! I'm about 45 lbs of lovable Lab mix, and I can't wait to be your best buddy! Ready to meet me? Let's set up a date! **If you would like to adopt, please fill out an adoption form which can be found on the animal's profile page at www.straypawsrescue.com #AdoptColby #ShyButSweet #RescueDog #DoggyBFF #FoodMotivated #FencedYardFun #ForeverHomeBound #LabMixLove

LYLE aka CHARLIE Hi, I'm Lyle, but my friends call me Charlie-because why not keep it cool? I'm a 4.5-year-old Chi/Bulldog mix weighing in at 51 lbs, but let me tell you, in my head, I'm a 5 lb lapdog extraordinaire! Here's why you'll love me: Lapdog Vibes: Size is just a number, right? I'm happiest snuggling up close-your lap is my throne. Fetch Pro: Got a ball? Let's roll! Or toss, actually. I'm also a big fan of car rides with the windows down. House & Crate Trained: Polished and perfect, I've got my manners nailed down. Command Champ: "Sit, "stay, "come-I'm a smart cookie who loves to please. Dog Selective: I'm a star solo act-let's keep the love just between us, okay? Protective & Playful: I'll keep you safe, but we'll have endless fun too! All I need is a forever family where I can shine as the only pup and maybe a yard for our epic play sessions. Trust me, we're gonna have a blast! Ready to meet? Story
🐾 HI, I’M TUNNEL! 🐾 Your handsome spotted boy with the nose of a detective and the heart of a marshmallow… once I trust you. 🤎 I’m a 2.5-year-old, 55-lb Retriever/Border Collie/Lab mix with the world’s cutest pink snoot and a patch over one eye that makes me look like a pirate… a very sensitive, easily-startled pirate. 🏴‍☠️💗 I’m a cautious guy who needs patience, consistency, and a calm home to feel safe. Once I decide you’re my person? I melt into your side like warm butter on toast. I’ll follow you, protect you, and be your loyal ride-or-die forever. ✨ My Stats (aka why I’m worth it): • 😳 Shy at first • 🐕‍🦺 Protective/territorial — I take my job seriously! • 🏡 Yard required for zoomies + security patrols • 💛 Moderate energy • 🚫 No cats, please (I think they’re tiny suspicious ninjas) • 🐢 A little cautious, but I try really hard Once I warm up, I adore other dogs, love being outside, and I’ll happily snooze near you like the big, spotted weighted blanket you never knew you needed. I promise: give me time, give me kindness, and I’ll give you my whole goofy heart. 👉 Click the link next to my name to learn more, apply, or schedule a meet & greet! #AdoptTunnel #SpottedSweetheart #RescueDog #StrayPawsRescue #AdoptDontShop #ShyButShining #WorthTheWork #ForeverHomeNeeded

Meet Gumbo – Your Goofy, Big-Hearted Best Bud! Gumbo is a 1-year-old Labrador mix who was found as a stray in O’Fallon on 5/21/25. This happy, outgoing boy was adopted in July and recently returned due to his adopter’s work schedule changing to longer hours. Through it all, Gumbo has remained the same affectionate, people-loving goofball who just wants to be part of someone’s life.Gumbo is friendly, social, and thrives on human interaction. He’s very people-oriented and loves attention—especially booty rubs! He enjoys brushing and bathing, does well at the dog park, and has lived around other dogs. He’s also crate trained and potty trained, making him a great candidate for an easy transition into a home.In the shelter, Gumbo can get anxious in his kennel and overstimulated during loud or chaotic moments, like storms. Once he’s out and able to engage, his energy is upbeat, joyful, and full of personality. He’s much happier when he has structure, movement, and a person to focus on.Gumbo can be very enthusiastic when meeting other dogs and may come on a bit strong. He tends to rush in with excitement and doesn’t always read social cues right away. Because of this, he would do best with a confident, tolerant dog who can match his energy and help him learn appropriate play and communication skills.Gumbo is still young and learning, but with patience, consistency, and positive reinforcement, he will be an incredibly loyal, loving, and entertaining companion. If you’re looking for a fun-loving dog with a big heart and an even bigger personality, Gumbo may be your perfect match.

Story
Meet Otto — 7-Month-Old Bull Terrier Mix Puppy Otto was found as a stray in West Alton on 10/9, an area known for frequent dog dumping. Despite his rough start, he’s a happy, wiggly, sweet boy who just needs the right guidance to thrive.Otto is full of energy and will need plenty of physical and mental enrichment to keep him feeling his best. He’s experiencing some kennel stress, but outside the kennel he’s all smiles, soft eyes, and playful puppy charm. He did have a couple of B’s on his food and toy assessment, so using a structured toy/food protocol is recommended. He eats fast and may guard high-value items, so being proactive will help him succeed. He’s young and very trainable.Otto did great in his dog-to-dog test with Krueger and has played appropriately with him in the past. He would enjoy living with another dog that matches his fun, energetic play style.Otto’s Ideal Home:Kids 10 and upA 6-foot fence recommended for safe exerciseAn active, engaged family ready to continue his trainingA dog friend with similar energy is a bonus!Otto has so much potential and so much love to give. With structure, guidance, and plenty of activity, he will blossom into an incredible companion.
