Story
We adopted Rhylo when she was 8 weeks old. She was a rescue coming from New Mexico, and we lived in Colorado at the time. She's a very active dog and loves everyone - people, dogs, cats... Given her high energy, she'd do best with a new family that likes to go on walks, runs, and/or hikes. She's a cuddle bug too and craves attention - even if it's just laying at your feet while you work or watch tv. She's been a great furry sister to my toddler, but with my wife's recent passing, I just don't have the time to keep up with her and give her what she needs while being a single parent. She's house trained and very food motivated - Rhylo will do anything for a treat :) Her favorite game to play is tugs, and she plays a good game of fetch if you have two balls (otherwise she just tries to play tugs and won't give up the one ball). She's a sweetheart and happy go-lucky pooch who would be a great addition to your family.

Story
We adopted Louis from Redfern Redbones in Arkansas when he was 10 weeks old. We have had him ever since. We have a Treeing Walker Coonhound that he gets along with well. He also gets along with all other dogs very well. We have given him many hours of professional obedience training, and he is crate trained, and completely housebroken. He is very energetic and needs lots of exercise. He would do very well in a house with other friendly dogs who will play with him.

Story
Louis is a 14-month old Redbone Coonhound that we have raised since he was 10 weeks old. He is 80 lbs and has a lot of energy. He is great with other dogs and is great at dog parks and with our other dog, has been obedience trained (come, sit, down, leave it, wait) is 100% housebroken, and is crate trained. He is unsure about some people, mainly men. He needs to be introduced to them slowly before he will accept them. He will need to go to a home that will provide a lot of attention and training around other people, especially men. He has been aggressive with some men and is nervous around people he does not know.

Story
Herman is one of the sweetest dogs around. His passions include snuggling on the couch, tossing his toys in the air, and running as fast as he can in the backyard. He loves to explore and go for walks, although he is wary of loud noises. Hermie enjoys playing fetch and knows commands for sit and down. He is potty trained, crate trained however he does not require one, and has never displayed the urge to chew anything but his own toys. Hermie loves other animals (cats and dogs) but is not a big fan of kids. He would be a great companion for someone who loves to see the outdoors but will also snuggle at night. Herman and is sister, Luna, came from a neglect situation. They were both born with birth defects and were not properly socialized to people, new things and situations. It is important that whomever would adopt him would be patient with him while he learns new things. Through medical testing, Herman was found to have a cobalamine deficiency meaning he is not absorbing B vitamins from his food and needs monthly B12 shots. (this is really the only actual medication that is needed from the vet). He is on a high protein diet and does best on grain free puppy food with added canned food for calories. He has a bit of an underbite and small kibble is best as it is easier to chew. Herman had a very hard time gaining weight. It took the foster home 6 months to wean him from prescription food in order for his to gain weight on something higher in protein. It is essential that his diet is not changed to cheap food. He is now a healthy 60lbs. Since he does not have much hair, his skin and coat need special maintenance. For dryness, he will need to be rubbed with oil and because he has little hair he is at risk of sunburn and needs to be protected from the sun. He will also need to wear a coat in the winter if out for any length of time to keep him warm.If you have any questions or would like to meet this pet, please email contact@stlpetrescue.com.
