To apply to adopt Linus please visit: https://evenchance.org/adopt/adoption-application/ For questions about Linus, please email us at info@evenchance.org What is your name? Hi! My name is Linus! How old are you? I'm around 2-years-old What do you look like? I am a big handsome pit bull mix. I have mostly white fur with light tan speckles and patches. What do you like to eat? I love all food… I love it so much that it makes my teeth chatter in anticipation sometimes. What kind of personality do you have? I am a social boy. I love to say hi to new people and I did excellent playing with dogs at the shelter as well as a few girlfriends that visit me at my foster home. I am DEDICATED to my person, right now my person is my foster mom, I like to follow her everywhere and be right next to her when its my turn to hang out in the house. I love walks, LOVE THEM. My foster mom is teaching me that cars are not meant for chasing and neither are the geese at the park. I am doing really good listening to the rules, but I still have room for improvement she says. We work on my leash walking around exciting things almost every day. I LOVE to play with toys, train, lay on the couch and chew bone and help my foster mom do things around the house. Describe your typical day: I am very much a boy of routine. I am a healthy mix of energy and lazy. On a perfect day I wake up and eat breakfast and take a walk to the park. During the day, depending on who is home, I rotate between chilling in my large kennel and hanging out in the house with my foster family. I love playtime and training in the evening and I am a perfect angel in my kennel at night. What is your favorite toy? I LOVE TOYS. I play fetch like a champ. My foster mom taught me how to catch frisbees, so that is my all-time new favorite game. I am a big strong chewer, I love chewing on my moose paddles, Goughnuts stick and Nylabone. Do you know any tricks? I can sit! I know “Climb” and I am getting better at staying on it until I am told “free” I am learning “down” and “heel” too! Oh, and I learned “go around” for the Frisbee throw. Do you like cats? Unfortunately, I can’t help myself and if someone didn’t stop me, I would choose to chase cats (and ducks, geese, etc), even when I know better, so no cats friends for me. Do you have any doggie best friends? I love playing in the backyard with my friends Vada and Nova, they are bossy female pit bulls that like to yell at me and then chase me which I love, I wish they would never stop. My housemate Luna is boss and she picks and chooses when we can play, I learned to respect that and we just play sometimes when she feels like it. Then, when she is done playing she yells at me and I take the hint and go about my business. If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be? Going anywhere and everywhere with my person. How is your health? I have great health. I have been getting some hives during allergy season, but other than that, I am young and healthy! Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion? I live with a foster dad, mom, 2 school-aged human kids and 4 other pit bulls. Where do you hang out when you are home alone? I hang out in my crate when I’m home alone. Where do you sleep? I usually spend the night my crate. What was life like before you were rescued by Even Chance and brought into the welcoming arms of your foster parents? Even Chance took me into their rescue from St. Louis County Animal Control (APA Olivette). Animal Control rescued me as a stray, I was in pretty rough shape at first but I have come a long way thanks to everyone that helped me. Even Chance does not operate on a first come, first serve basis. In most cases we have already decided the type of home and owner we want for our dogs. These opinions are based on the temperament tests we perform prior to accepting the dog into our program and the behaviors the dogs display as they spend time in our homes. Our agency reserves the right to deny acceptance of any dog to an owner who we feel the lifestyle does not match that of the dog. We are in no way judging you or your lifestyle; we simply want to put our dogs in the best living situation possible. We take very seriously the decision we make when it comes to placing one of our dogs in a forever home. If I sound like the perfect pit bull for you and your family and you are interested in giving me a forever home, do not hesitate! Please fill out an application at www.evenchance.org/adopt and my foster family will contact you to schedule an in-person meet and greet. We look forward to meeting any and all interested applicants.

Story
What is your name? Hi! My name is Grover! How old are you? I'm about 3-years-old (?) What do you look like? My foster mom tells me I have big, expressive eyes and the cutest floppy ears. I have silky smooth sandy brown fur and healthy skin! What do you like to eat? I used to have a sensitive stomach, but my foster mom has figured out what works for me! I just can't have chicken, and my belly does just fine! Right now, my kibble is Dr. Gary's Best Breed Coldwater Recipe, and I get lots of other non-chicken treats! I require lots of calories because I am an energetic boy, so I like high calorie food What kind of personality do you have? It takes me a minute to warm up to new people, but once I know you, I love you! My foster mom has helped me learn that new people normally throw my ball & I loveeeeeee my ball. So, I'd you throw it I love you too! I have a lot of energy and need to play and train daily to be my best self inside the house. Describe your typical day: I am very much a boy of routine. I am a healthy mix of energy and lazy. On a perfect day I wake up, eat breakfast and hangout in my placeboard while my foster mom drinks some weird brown water. Then, I go outside with my foster brothers to run around with our Jolly Balls. I don't really care about playing with them, it's all about playing with my favorite toy! After nice nap in my kennel while foster mom works, we go on a nice, structured walk to practice my obedience. I LOVE to work for treats. Sometimes we even get to go to Home Depot or Lowes! What is your favorite toy? I LOVE TOYS. I love them all and possibly a little too much, ha! In the house I can only have my bones and Kong’s, but outside under supervision, I get to play with the fun stuff like BarkBox Super Chewer Balls. They are my FAVORITE! I also really love my Jolly Ball. Do you know any tricks? I can do lots of things like sit, down, Heel, and go to my place! I also know how to spit out my toy so you can have it! I try hard to be a good boy. Do you like cats? I knew this question would come up. Here is the thing. I was born with this superpower called prey drive. My mom says its genetic and you can’t change genetics, so we might as well embrace it. Prey drive can make training and playing with me very fun because I love to chase balls, treats, etc. However, my prey drive can get me in trouble too because squirrels, birds, bunnies, cats, etc are all things that I would also very much like to chase and catch. And with a boy of my size and determination, this is one superpower my family will always need to be aware of and manage responsibly. Do you have any doggie best friends? I prefer to play with toys and hangout with my human over dog friends! When I do play with my brothers, I play VERY rough. Unfortunately, not very many dogs like the way I play, so it’s good thing I don’t really need to play with them to be happy! If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be? This is easy to answer, I just want to be with my person wherever are going! How is your health? My tummy is sensitive to chicken, but when I don’t eat that I am a healthy boy! Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion? I live with a foster mom & dad and have 3 foster dog siblings. I love my foster mom. Where do you hang out when you are home alone? I hang out in my crate when I’m home alone. Where do you sleep? I usually spend the night my crate, but sometimes my foster mom will sleep on the couch and let me sleep on my placeboard. What was life like before you were rescued by Even Chance and brought into the welcoming arms of your foster parents? Even Chance took me into their rescue from Animal Control. Animal Control rescued me and my littermates and parents from a hot garage that my first family locked us inside. Even Chance does not operate on a first come, first serve basis. In most cases we have already decided the type of home and owner we want for our dogs. These opinions are based on the temperament tests we perform prior to accepting the dog into our program and the behaviors the dogs display as they spend time in our homes. To apply to adopt Sur, please fill out an adoption application at www.evenchance.org/adopt and we will be in touch! For specific questions please email us at info@evenchance.org To check out more pics and video of me go to: https://www.instagram.com/stories/highlights/18392453749026296/ What is your name? Hi! My name is Big Sur, but you can call me “Sur” My name is fun because when I am doing a good job people say to me, “Good Sur!” or if I make a bad choice, like if I impulsively try to chase a squirrel, you might hear them say, “No, Sur!” Ha! How old are you? I'm about 2-years-old What do you look like? My foster mom says that not only am I a BIG SUR, I am also a very handsome boy that embodies her favorite place on California's coast! She says my fur is the color of sandy beaches, and my golden eyes glow like the California sunset. With my ultimate beach body and custom waterproof ocean blue collar, I am the total beach package. What do you like to eat? I love all food… my dog food meals, my training treats, my peanut butter Kongs and bananas! What kind of personality do you have? I am a social boy. I really love hanging with my people. I have a lot of energy but I also tire out really easily compared to my smaller pit bull housemates. I do need to do something active every day or I can get unruly, but as long as I get a big walk (or 2) or a good exercise session of fetch, disc, springpole or swimming each day I am a rock star in my kennel or hanging in the house. Describe your typical day: I am very much a boy of routine. I am a healthy mix of energy and lazy. On a perfect day I wake up and eat breakfast and go my 1.5 mile walk to and through the park. During the day, depending on who is home, I rotate between chilling in my large kennel and hanging out in the house with my foster family. I love playtime and training in the evening and I am a perfect angel in my kennel at night. What is your favorite toy? I LOVE TOYS. I love them all and possibly a little too much, ha! In the house I can only have my bones and Kongs, but outside under supervision, I get to play with the fun stuff like ChuckIt! balls, frisbees, etc. I can get a little possessive with my toys, but I am much better than when I first broke out of the shelter. I used to really worry that my toy might be taken away forever, so I tried to keep it to myself. But, my foster mom has taught me how much more fun it is to play with someone than by yourself as well as she showed me how fun trading games can be! I also LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to play tug. I was born for that game. Do you know any tricks? I have the BEST sit ever. I not only do it the second someone asks me to, but I also do it all the time just to show you how good of a boy I am. I know down and I am learning to heel too! I do, yes, but only one. Her name is Luna and she is a pint-sized female pit bull that will play ROUGH with me and also tell me off when I get to be too much. I kind of like it when she tells me off. Unfortunately, my play skills are equivalent to a linebacker trying to play a game of tag. I come in HOT, full of energy and excitement and I really don't realize my own strength or size. I am often overbearing and unintentionally rough and for whatever reason other dogs don’t seem to appreciate it. I am not reactive in my crate or behind the doggie gates, all of the other dogs say hi to me and I like it. I also walk beautifully next to the whole family pack of pit bulls. It’s just that free play that gets me in trouble. There is a chance I may do well with a female dog similar to Luna, but other than that, I am likely best as your only bro dog. If you could be anywhere in the world, where would it be? Do you mean besides chasing squirrels in the backyard? HA! Actually, this is easy to answer, I just want to be with my person wherever are going! How is your health? When animal control found me as a stray I had heartworms, but I am now completely cured and a healthy, active boy. Who do you live with in your foster home and who is your closest companion? I live with a foster dad, mom, 2 school-aged human kids and 4 other pit bulls. Where do you hang out when you are home alone? I hang out in my crate when I’m home alone. Where do you sleep? I usually spend the night my crate, but sometimes my foster dad will sleep on the couch next to me, those are the best nights! What was life like before you were rescued by Even Chance and brought into the welcoming arms of your foster parents? I was picked up as a stray and brought to County Animal Control. The shelter life was stressing me out, so my foster mom broke me out and brought me home to Even Chance! Even Chance does not operate on a first come, first serve basis. In most cases we have already decided the type of home and owner we want for our dogs. These opinions are based on the temperament tests we perform prior to accepting the dog into our program and the behaviors the dogs display as they spend time in our homes. Champ is 2 years old and is a very happy and cheerful companion. He is very playful and loves to play tug of war, fetch, hide and seek. He is always cheerful and ready to hit the day with you. He is house trained. He's very intelligent and trains easily. Loves chewing on bones and enjoying jerky treats. He is great around other dogs, he always wants to play when he sees other pooches. He is great around other people and children. He prefers to sleep in his own bed or his crate. He is a wonderful companion. The only downside is he does shed fur. He is a husky mix and has soft fur.
